Low assists are best used for unblockable setups I would think.
and anybody coming to MvC3 from 2 will have experience blocking tridash overheads to low short.
was that even a tactic in TvC?
You know damn well I wasn’t talking bout mahvel players
Some others have said it, but I think it bears repeating. The ‘low assist unblockable’ thing, which has been talked up to hell by S.kill, might not be as awesome as he’s leading us to believe. I’m sure it’ll be useful, but I’d hesitate to build a team exclusively around that.
Speaking as someone who played both games, yeah it was for some characters. Morrigan had instant overheads with her air Offensive Ground Dash. But I like triangle jumps better here in mvc3.
depends on the point character. for instance, magneto and storm + psylocke=awesome. iron man and cable + psylocke=not as awesome. psylocke suits the rushdown never get off your back style of mags and storm better than the wait for an opportunity and punish style of cable and iron man. although psylocke does set up perfect height for iron mans infinite and AHVB, you are turtling more and hoping to land the psyblade. youre more dependant on a lucky shot, and if your opponents defense is solid they will just block low all day.
After looking at the teams i think i will be picking Arthur/Zero/Dormammu. Dorm’s assist looks pretty good thus far.
I’m also going to agree that the high/low assists not going to be as big a deal as they’ve been promoted.
Why those three? What assist? EXPLAIN YOURSELF?
I am not saying this because of anything, but some of us should get together and make a little team building so when the flood of people come to this forum don’t start asking “Which should be my main” “Is this a great team” “Which are good characters so pair up with (character)”
We should do this before the question start overflowing threads. And just to be good people
Thats why i wanted someone to make a new Thread and we categorize every char. so ppl can see what char is what for and create teams
We could add some gameplay videos, even some detailed write-ups about characters, then update it the first week after launch.
How would we categorize the characters though?
Edit: You mean post release, right?
Thanks for the help.
My idea looks like this:
we take every char of the game we know yet.
For example:
Chris Redfield: Keepaway
Assists: Grenade Throw // Machinegun // Punchcombo
Info: Good HP, Good hyper combos, excellent ground keepaway game and a very good anchor for a team.
we could takes infos from the char.specific threads if we don’t know some things or ppl just help us
Later on when we have a decent list of chars. i can try to host a webpage where you can select 3 chars. they put up in a team and you can choose the assists and get a detailed list of moves and combos with assists etc.
and later we update it when we got our hands on the game with Pros and Cons for the setup or combination of the teams
@Ruskor ^^^ hey you might as well add at “Complimentary teammates” part too. I might make a character team listing but it’ll be a while from now.
Nobody is “sleeping” on Spidey…Wolverine or anyone else.
The characters we have been seeing the most of at this point, we have been seeing them for a reason. Sure there will be more Tron or Thor play once people have an understanding, but the characters that seem really good at first usually are.
I dont see Chun being less good after release. I dont see Thor being extremely better after release.
Website is not necessary, but I do like the layout. But very important we should add below info links to impressions on the characters and the build it was played on and some gameplay videos of actual players instead of just some random videos. Also explaining people which was the oldest build to the most current one.
E3 - EVO - Comic.Con - TGS - CES
Or just detail the elements and thought process of making a good team of whatever style (rushdown, keepaway, etc). Teach people how to build a good team or at least get them thinking about why this is good or why this wouldn’t help.
Yea sounds good so who’s up to help ? we could just meet up in tinychat or something and discuss who takes who or just for brainstorming
Talking about how 10 characters were in the E3 build is really a useless point.
Even starting at the TGS build for some characters serves no purpose.
Just for the sake of being consistent we need to just use the final version of the game. Nobody needs to know that Ryu could airdash in the first playable demo thats not going to help his situation now.
EDIT: Ruskor…ill help. wheres the tinychat?
