Ryu’s tatsu assist isn’t quite as fast, so it’s not quite as good for pressure, but it does work with any combos that you’d use Akuma’s assist for.

Taking this team to a tourney in about a week! Hopefully I do pretty good. I’m doing great online lately despite having a terrible Magneto and Wolverine. I’ve only been playing this team for a week or two, though, so I can’t expect too much.
before the health patch, my team was WAS(Wolv/Aku/Sen)
now im too scared to play this team since they all die in 2 co.mbos.
im keeping the tatsu,since unlike many i actually try to hit you instead of infinite tatsus canceled into
tenma/messatsu hado. any way i can replace drones or will i have to get rid of gouki?
I’m having a lot of trouble deciding on an anchor for my current team. I’m running Wolv/Chun (???)…I was thinking about using Wesker because of his OTG assist, but I’m not totally sure. Any other Wolv/chun’s out there that have some advice about an anchor that works well?
I’m having a lot of trouble finding a good balance to my team(s). Currently I’m doing the classic Wolverine/Akuma combo and I’m comfortable with it. Wolverine on point Akuma last. Question is who should I have in the middle?
My thoughts are:
I need a lockdown assist. Is this true? If so it feels like only Sentinel / Ammy will do but do any of these really match? I really don’t want to play Sent, is Wolverine, Ammy, Akuma viable as a team? I’ve tried Dante as my second but I just can’t make it work like I want to. I have a hard time making wolverine / akuma benifit of Dante and the same the other way around even if Nguyen uses that team.
I’d really like to use Doom also. But Doom is so rarely used and it seems like he has trouble being the last character all alone (or is that just in my head?). Wolverine/Doom/Aku or Wolverine/Aku/Doom? Thinking molecular shield assist.
I’d really want to use these characters exept wolverine; aku/doom/ammy/shehulk and maybe secondary category if I must Storm (rather not have the Wolv/Storm/Aku combo though) and Zero. I’d like to have a rushdown team. Can someone make a team that works for me on these premises? Just tell me the team you think would be most powerful and, if you can, motivate it.
Storm(Wirlwind), Woverine(B Slash), Hulk(Gama Wave)
I find Gama wave useful as it hits OTG and can be used after throws ect, and my only reason for Storm is the ridiculously easy DHC trick that kills any character with one meter
Basic storm combo into Elemental Rage xx into Beserker Charge the rest is history…
This is my exact team except I run Logan on point. It does make sense to run storm on point for the DHC trick though. I’ve been getting eaten by a Haggar here in the office all week. It’s time to turn the tables.
Logan (or James) always was my favorite X-Man. Since launch I’ve run him on point on several teams (including the tatsu archetype), but right now I’m running Wolverine (barrage)/ Taskmaster (F. arrow)/ and Phoenix (TK shot).
Wolverine and Tasky are a great Yin-and-Yang; both have damaging barless combos and they can set up unblockables for the other. Phoenix is simply the biggest mind game in MvC3, people will worry about her and not the fact the Logan has got them in the corner.
So right now I am at an impasse. I am using Wolverine (Barrage), X-23(Ankle Slice), ???
I don’t want to use the staples like Doom, Sent, Akuma. What are some other options I have to take advantage of both of their switching side moves?
you could try dormmamu dark hole? chun li hyakuretsukyaku? if you want to lock them down perhaps?
having trouble of when and where to put this team together, Wolverine (barrage), C. viper (not sure which one yet), Akuma (tatsu of course) any suggestions on team makeup? Assist as well? who should I have on point? viper or wolvie?
I would put akuma last because he’s a good anchor and doesn’t neccessary need and assist like wolverine. I would put wolverine (beserker barrage works if used randomly or for extended pressure) up front (or just before akuma) cuz he needs assist to mixup and make beserker slashes safe and he could use c.viper otg assist and dhc which I bet do crazy damage. C. Viper I don’t know enough about but I though she needs a lot of meter so I wouldn’t put her first and I think she could prob use akuma’s assist for her mixups and pressure so I would put her second.

I use wolvie and akuma, put wolvie on point to build meter because viper needs meter also remember akuma has deadly xf3 hypers and akuma’s tatsu assist is one of the best in the game it will help wovlie get in and once your in with wolvie its over.
Think about using viper as your anchor, akuma needs meter bad to punish assists with x factor, using viper as seconds can run of risk of you burning all your meter and leaving an xfactor akuma with nothing to use.

i’m thinking of running a wolvie/wesker/phoenix team. both logan and albert are great at dealing damage without using meter and are great battery characters too. my wesker is really solid too soo if i get in a situation where phoenix gets snapped in and i get caught, wesker has great comeback potential.
my question is what assists would be best for wolverine on my team. on the top of my head, wesker’s otg gun can set wolverine up for extended combos. as far as wolverine goes, not sure what assist i can pair him up with. and for phoenix, i typically run tk shot just in case i’m able to land an air magic series with wesker and i need an assist to extend.
I established wolvie as my main character go goes on all my teams. that being said I wanted to make a Phoenix team. who helps out wolvie and Phoenix more sentinel or taskmaster?? I am very skilled at both characters because they are both on my main team with wolvie. what do you guys think?
That team lacks a foward moving assists that helps wolverine or wesker to get in safetly (neither of their transport moves are safe). you would need to use pheonix assist to do that and that can turn out bad for you. Wesker is also a better point character because he has 1)better life 2) self OTG 3) better meter building ability. Wolverine solo would bee to burn meter for speed super and when he has it he doesnt build any meter. after a hard knock down to wesker OTG gun and TK shot will present better reset options
Not to put you down by any means, but i would suggest picking either/or. and using a better second like task, akuma, iron man for the assists. thats the nature of using pheonix in general. its that you need to build around her without gimping your first two
sentinel in my opinion is wolverines best assist option hands down. it provides safety, combo options, mix ups etc. But again with a pheonix team you need to build around her mainly. you might have a bomb wolverine with sent drones but wolverine doesnt have a lot of life and he can die just as easily as sent. Sent meter building ability is meh and he loses his threat if the other person knows you wont super X factor super, since your probably saving that for pheonix.
Overall, I really believe that wolverine doesnt compliment a pheonix base team. Hes pretty fragile himself and most of the good assists that makes him scary (tatsu or drones) loses the charm if you think about it because both akuma and sent are really scary with meter and xfactor.

Thinking either Wolvie-Task-Sent or Wolvie-Doom-Sent
wolvie task sent is a good team but sentinel is just so bad now. huge hit box low health and his assist stays out for years. been trying to replace him with akuma or ironman. I think akuma is the obvious choice but iron man beam is such a good assist.
however I’ve been trying out new characters all day and wovie tasky and sentman is still my best and fav team. stupid robot.
