[LEFT]I use a low first to make them block and then its a 50/50. So now I can use both my teams assist to finish the combo, instant overhead, and confirm off a B Slash (Space dependent for Task… i whiff an H first) Teams coming along nicely. Now to find some use for wolverines assist. Most I can think off is Cross Counter, or early in a task combo into sting master.[/LEFT]
Edit was able to do otg arrows in the corner. 2 bars does 923700. Mid screen the variation shown does much more damage
i love wolverine & wesker but i’m not feeling akuma nor doom nor dante i rather play a different character for anchor who would work the best with those 2?
Shuma Gorath and Arthur are two less popular choices. See hazangelic for advanced shuma tech but the basic is mystic ray can otg and allow conversions off berserk slash without meter. Arthur’s assist is amazing and allows for instant over heads and certain ranges conversion off b Slash. Sent and Drones are also great. Magneto Task and Hawkeye can be used although not as good with wolv as he is for wesker. There’s also team noel brown (Wolverine Frank Wesker)
Ha great show. Anyhow yea it depends. His assist themselves are generally garbage except for certain situations ( Dante can use it in a mixup, dorm to extend combos ) or cross over counters. That being said wolverine is one of the best point characters especially at the start of the match and can absolutely maul a team. That and he’s just a bad ass:) it’s your choice if he’s worth it though.
Wolverine Frank level 4 with no tac. Saw it done before with an OTG but heres a more improved version. Key is to land Bluelight Special near midscreen. I tried having it go further and connecting with S into J S or JHS or Knee drop but no success due to hit stun . Maybe one of you guys can nail it?
Hello all! I’ve been runnin a shit ton of mag doom sent, but enjoy swapping in alternate points like nova. Yesterday and today I gave logan a shot (and switched out missiles for plasma, naturally). I’m enjoying it greatly, but wanted to ask about wolvie and drones.
My base idea is to call drones then immediately barrage, the goal being that after barrrage they have to block the drones, setting up a cL vs jL mixup. So here are my questions about this:
Seems like often they have time to jump between barrage and drones. They still have to block, but suddenly the hilo is mitigated. What do you guys recommend when they eek out this chicken block? Not sure if dash under is advisable since they’ll be in block stun rendering left/rights moot. Ill experiment with waiting to the last second, but need a backup plan in case it doesn’t work.
Any other good drones protection tactics along those same lines? I figure normal+drones, second normal xx b.slash should work too; maybe even doing H slash to intentionally whiff it, then dash in for the hilo. Will have to see if that work. But again, question is. Basically ‘any other good ones?’
When drones hit and they’re airborne (nj height), what confirm do you recommend? Just freestyling I attempted just sj dive kick, but wonder if jump loop wouldn’t be better, but forget what it is. JLMS? Whatever allows us to land and continue.
Lastly, regarding plasma beam, are there any good known SPECIFIC crossup sequences to know? Here’s an arbitrary example what I mean: vergil backed by shopping cart is very strong, conducive to teleportiness, etc. However, if you do a sL+cart xx M tele, the sequence is so tight, that its virtually an unblockable. Even if you know its coming, you’re just not gonna block it consistently if at all. The frames, the recovery, all the variables involved, its just so perfectly tight that if you can force the situation, you get the combo. THAT SAID, does wolvie. Have anything known along those lines with plasma? Like, an ideal normal to slash off of that just works better than the others? It may not exist (or more likely, be known), but its certainly worth asking. Ill watch some PR rog too and see if anything suggests itself.

yes, I’ve played him since vanilla, although UMVC’s version doesn’t match to vanillas glory, he’s still a viable character. just play smarter and know when to wait and when to rush down. a little patience goes along way.
i don’t play wolverine/ drones, so i’m not exactly the right person to ask, all i can think of is attempt to grab him. or cr.L to stop them from trying to jump
Wolverine unfortunately doesn’t have a teleport, his berserker slash is a subpar version of it, but i don’t know if you can call it tight. he can be hit/grabbed out of it. Its best take advantage of your cr. L. play mind games with your opponent with that move, bait their advancing guard with a instant dive kick (counter hit too). Follow cr. l with instant over heads, tick grabs, instant dive kicks, plasma beam x beserker slash (not as safe). his rush down is really scary.
Well, what I’m saying is they jump after the barrage. If it was possible to cL to prevent the jump, there wouldn’t be an issue lol
The teleport thing was just an example of what I was asking about. Wolvie can, for example, hit sM and call doom, then cancel to a b.slash. but he can do this with several normals, several timings of the assist call, etc. My question was about specific known versions of this with a tighter harder-to-block sequence. They def exist, question is if they’re known.
Improved version off a hit confirm with shopping cart leveling up frank no tac. Could have more hits if I delayed a little longer for the fatal claw but it still easily 50 hits and its late. I really need to get recording equipment Liking this team more and more.
Gah, having such trouble deciding between sent and vergil behind wolvie doom. I know written out like that appear foolish even considering sent over vergil. But replace “sent” and “vergil” with “drones” and “rapid slash” and suddenly there’s a real decision to be made. Ill have to play both and see what I like. -shrug-
I run sent, it all depends on how you want your team to run, with sent on anchor you have wolvie with two really dangerous assists and then doom with one of his favorite assists then finally have sentinel on anchor. While anchor sents no vergil, he’s no slouch(in most situations, gluck if your playing against morridoom). On the flip side vergil on anchor gives you a better insurance policy, but makes your mid-game with doom significantly less scary, plus it makes wolvie rely on one assist, so once doom dies wolvie also becomes less effective. With all that said, you get anchor vergil, not much else to say in that regard.
Personally id recommend sentinel over vergil, with that said, Im the biggest sent fanboy so my opinion is more than a little biased.
Yep, exactly. Vergil is unquestionably the better team, but as far as preference and personal style, drones can be quite effective too. I’m just usin both. May go classic w/ a little tatsu too. I’m just lovin plasma-Logan.
Jak, what combo are you using off a landed b.slash xx b.charge? He has several options, just curious which you’re consistent with.
Oh I run a basic :l: :h: :s: j. :h: :s:. I realize that combo is awful, but I haven’t had the time to learn a new one, nor did I know what I should be practicing to begin with.
Lol actually I just logged on to edit away that question. Just went into training and made the transition from 'can never get slash loops to work" to “hits slash loops every time.” (Yay). The trick was trying sM instead of cM and finding it still works. Unless someone cancels my parade and tells me that’s char specific (vergil was my dummy), why in gods name do people use cM for it?? Makes it soo much harder needlessly(?).
Main issue with it now is whiffing the dive kick post launch and/or getting a full relaunch without offending the HSD gods. For that ill just check the threads.
