Not in my opinion. Disruptor is a so so assist for Logan . At least run it wolv wesk magneto. Mags is an underrated anchor
Disruptor doesn’t really give wolvie much lockdown to work with, and gunshot robs mag of any real neutral assist. The team could world since its 3 powerful characters, but as far as assist synergy you’re not really doing yourself any favors.
so who wood work best with wolverine & wesker? i don’t like sentinel nor doom dante idk if vergil wood work but i’m not that great at making good teams in umvc3
Ricky ortiz runs wolve wesk akuma, and noel brown runs wolve frank wesk. Both are extremely strong teams. If you’re willing to learn iron man, unibeam is an extremely strong assist for both. Likewise hawkeye arrows (and to a slightly lesser extent, taskmaster arrows)are very good for both.
Yeah you don’t get much out of Disrupter other than help approaching, at which point you’d need an assist like Tatsu for close range lockdown and B.Slash conversions.
Alternatively Plasma Beam is great for conversions and safe Slashes, and has a surprising amount of blockstun making it good for lockdown as well to set up low/throw mixups.
Calling Plasma and doing a B.Slash often causes your opponent to bounce of the top of the beam on hit, meaning you’re only 2-3 hits into the combo at that point and it’s relatively unscaled.
It’s worth learning Doom or Sent even if you don’t like them, simply because Drones, Missiles and Plasma Beam are such good assist for a lot of characters.
Lately I’ve been practicing wolverine frank doom. Frank and doom are some of wolvies best assist. As far as frank Ieveling up unless I get a clean hit no assist ( if so I can just level up frank no tac needed) I either have the choice for a tac or a reset ( usually air throw reset). If its successful then I level up frank without the tac easily to level 4 using fatal claw into blue light special and that character is generally dead. Doom can also level up frank and beam helps frank get in on zoning teams. Not the best team buts it’s for sure fun. Sometimes use Shuma in the back.
Well y2j makes wolvie work with disruptor, its not plasma beam but it seems to work well for him although I’ve never tried it personally. But yea if your gonna run those 3 it should be wolvie/wesker/magnus, niggaz need to get off that anchor wesker rubbish, that shit is so 2011.
On a side note, Im trying to implement drones into my game, but its not as straight forward as I thought since sentinel takes so long to come out and wolvie doesn’t have a disruptor to protect sent. So I was wondering if anyone had some tips on utilizing drones to their full potential, in addition to any type of tech that they might have, like some cool resets or something.
vergil works, or shuma.
I think it was in this thread, but I recently answered this, but then asked about the ‘follow up problem,’ so to speak. But u can protect a drone call via H barrage. Then problem, then, is they have time to jump between the barrage and the dones connecting.this means were not guaranteed a cL vs jL mixup. But if you’ve got game vs a chicken block up close, this method gives you a safe drone call every time. Question becomes: then what?
well, if they keep jumping between each drone can’t you just catch their pre-jump frames with a low? or is that even what you’re talking about?
No no, here’s what I mean: in theory, if we can get an opponent to block drones on the ground, we get to mix them up hilo during the block stun. Magneto makes a career out of this. So as wolverine, we can try to achieve this by calling drones, then doing a (mashed) H barrage. Once they block the barrage, we hope, the drones then start to connect. During which, we can then go all magnus on their ass.
However, after they block the barrage, and before the drones connect, an up-backing opponent has an ever so slight window to chickenblock the drones. And we don’t recover from the barrage in time to cL them before they jump. Now, during this gap, they don’t have time to hit us or anything, its just that we aren’t assured our sweet sweet grounded block stun (tho vs a player who doesn’t think/know to upback in this situation, happy hannukah).
So the barrage, if connected, does guarantee us a safe drone call. There are just some limitations on what we can do with the block stun from the drones. (And we can’t air grab since they’re in stun) its possible, if we work on it (and something tells me jak d ripr will at least try), there could be a healthy mixup game born of that situation, just not jL vs cL. A lot would depend how quickly the drones block stun ends. If it wears off quickly, then maybe a jump n grab vs jump MHS mixup could exist. Or maybe something like a stand jab, wait a sec, then sM vs b.slash M. Id have to play with it.
Long story short: wolvie CAN protect a drones call. But go into it with a plan against chicken blocks. Oh, side note: if the barrage HITS, I do believe the drones will combo off it allowing you to continue.
Well just found this dude called white tower akbar who runs wolvie drones, been checking out his vids to find some tech, figured id let y’all know in case there were other aspiring wolverine sentinel players. the vid isn’t bad, although his wolvie doesn’t do a lotta work in it.
Random question: since HSD gets up there after launch relaunch stuff, attempts to slow down to get the final jS out later/lower make for a lot of drops. Specifically I’m trying to get the 'ol assist-slide-otg-L DP-fatal to work with Rapid Slash, but its definitely far tighter than with most assists. Any advice? I saw an earlier post mention not sliding till they stopped bouncing, which helped. But the key is really getting that last jS as low as possible. Help! lol (note: I am already including the jL in the air sequence since I do know that helps to make the jS hit lower/later)
LOL kept sounding like they were saying White Power, hehe. Jak, did you try the barrage drones cover I wrote about above? I figured you’d have a ton to say about it, and the resulting situation I was talkin about. But perhaps you havent had a chance to mess w/ it?
Nah haven’t had the chance yet, I only play on thursdays(and some fridays) since I don’t bring my console with me to school.

Sup! i´m playing atm Wolvie/Hulk/Akuma team and im kinda n00b
Since AE taken most of my time im very starter in this game… Does anybody has some advice for my team? team combos? YT channels or players to watch that have similiar if not the same team?
PS: I´m running this team in that order
You guile check it out, just saw this vid a few minutes ago, figured id drop it here Dude plays wolvie/sent and he does some legit looking set-ups. His main way of protecting sentinel is a basic st.:h:(when they are in range) + :a1:, berserker slash. I just started watching the video but 6 games in its looking like a legit 50/50, I mean obviously if they pushblock it they nullify the first mix-up, but(and this is 100 percent theory) at this point Im guessing you can cancel into berserker charge and hit em with 2 or 3 other mix-ups since they are currently in the mix with drones.
Another set-up he did that didn’t look as clean was dive kick while calling sentinel on an incoming character(but it could probably be applied to any airborne character) and then if they pushblock, berserker slash. The pushblock keeps em airborne for a few extra seconds allowing you to hit em with a quick cross-up.
Thats all I’ve gotten so far, and no, I haven’t had the chance to try out that set-up you mentioned yet.
Watch justin wong, he’s pretty much the best wolverine/akuma in the world right now. Your basic Bnb should be ground magic series launch :h: drill claw dive kick land st.:h: :s: air :h: :s: call akuma :df: :dp: :l: fatal claw. Once you’ve gotten that down, youtube “fatal claw loops” and try to learn those. Every wolvie/akuma combo should be in this video right here
Hulk/akuma on the other hand, thats kinda new, I’ve literally never seen that pairing in my life, id advice going to check out the hulk forums, they prolly know a thing or two.
After the js hard knockdown call vergil walk forward and otg slide right when vergil is next to logan, Vergil will come out then stop for a second then rapid slash. When he pauses for like a moment slide. Its wierd timing. You can also walk back just when vergil comes out slide.

Thanks, jak. That vid was perfect for me, as I’ve been running wolve doom vergil and wolve doom sent. Was kind of a shame peter kept doing 99% dmg combos the first few games lol
I know right, every match wolverine survived with just a pixel.
