thats coo cuz a lot of people have problems against a good blanka. blanka beats takes my fight money all day. just saying you might want a fireball character since you already have a charge character without a fireball. blanka ball is pretty god damn good though
Due to a recent conversation with my Pops my chances of going to Evo have just increased 50% :wgrin:
So…still at a yes or no situation?
Well my Dad said he is off during the tournament, we have a time share in Vegas and he would pay for our tickets. It’s just a matter of buying the tickets now to make it official.
I’m just ok at Street Fighter 4. But I’d like to try out for Remix.
A few people already know how I feel about the NW team, and I figured it would be best if I just post here about it. To be really honest, I don’t really care about making the NW team anymore due to a few different reasons…
-As it stands I won’t be able to go to Evolution unless something changes in the near future (which is completely possible). This is due to certain things happening in my life. If it gets ironed out, there’s a chance of me going.
-I feel as if lately, I’ve been in a slump performance wise. Whatever it actually is, I’m not playing as well as I could. I’m beginning to think that I may have to completely change the way I play. That said, I feel like I shouldn’t be trying to get on a team that represents our entire region when I can’t even properly represent my abilities as a player. It’s like trying to run before you walk. And that’s not where my focus should be at to keep it real. Besides that, I would really rather focus on my game, not be on the team and do well at Evo, versus say, making the team and doing bad at Evo.
-I can’t practice as much as I would like to due to the fact that my XBox died. It won’t be a while until I get it back. For example, the last time I played was last Saturday. The next time I’ll get to play, will be Zach’s on the 15th. As I see it, the months of May and June are the most important months regarding Evolution practice because this is when you fine tune your game. This is when you add the finishing touches basically. Right now I have about 3,4 different ideas in my head that I really should jot down before I forget them. Naturally this wouldn’t be a problem if I could just play and see how they work out.
For a while, the way I played (starting with the GW tourney) was the biggest reason why I didn’t care. It still is a big reason actually. All the drama we had and stuff like that, while deaded, still kinda plays a small factor in it as well. We’ll see what happens, but as of right now, count me out.
I will say though, I am interested in who the top 20 are.
:razzy::devil::cybot::smokin:
Sadly I won’t be able to make EVO this year… but you better believe I’ll be here if there’s something like this in '10.
Go Northwest.
Let’s make a team of all Abels!!!
Cole, have you settled on a character yet?
ok first 5 guys on the list
King - Zangief
Mickey D - Ryu
Jason "The Future - ?
John Michaels “LTB” - Ken
Nolan - C. Viper
More names to come soon.
J-Cole
ps FatBear - Depending on our 8 man team, ill either be using Dhalsim or Balrog.
Big ups to Nolan and the first 5 players!
Lol coming from someone I’ve never seen at anything sf4 related. To be serious your opinion on who is dominant in portland is very inaccurate. Aj ur coo people so sorry for coming at you like an ass. That list is like saying the cavs, Detroit Pistons, and Blazers r the best when 2 of those team got bodied 1st round. If we had a round robin here I surely know what top 3 would look like.
Cole: sounds good. Right now I’m playing Dhalsim and Rufus but I just got my ps3 fixed yesterday so I finally have the game at home and might pick up some other characters. I’ll keep you informed.
So that’s five of the top 20 prospects, right?
What about cajun McSantos?
oh yah, I just saw that cody was browsing the forums, thats tight.
Suggestion:
It’s a 5 man team, we’re gonna need backup players as well in case someone can’t make the trip to Vegas. I suggest another 5 players as backup.
Rayblade, yes you are right we will need back ups. That is why im building a team of 8 guys. 3 back ups. We will all practice together and then build the 5 man team together. That is the plan.
J-Cole
no worries dood.
you are correct though.
i haven’t been to many sf IV tournies, i was basing off of what i’ve seen in casual play.
/edit: because we’ve only had a handful (if that) of dedicated sfIV tournies.
so are we going to have a dedicated qualifiers tournament in pdx?
King - Zangief
Mickey D - Ryu
Jason "The Future - ?
John Michaels “LTB” - Ken
Nolan - C. Viper
Next 10
Frank da Dank - Bison
Mark Santos - Zangief
Rowtron - Dhalsim
Mechanica - El furte (?)
Rattana - Sagat
Jmar - Sagat
James ShowWrecker - Balrog
Adam - Ryu
Josh - Akuma
Julian (Airthrow) - Bison
The final 5 will be determined after the Portland Random Select Tourney.
Hope everyone is practicing hard!!! Also, the chars i list here are not set in stone. The players will be able to choose their final char right before tourney starts. This is just my rough estimate on what these guys might be playing.
