oh cool not really what i was looking for but still learned stuff
what i ment was on competitive forums i see people suggesting setting up individual auto.cfgs for different classes with different setups for each
cl_interp 0
cl_interp_ratio 1
rate 3600
etc
and different stuff about how it should be half of your ping
and im trying to figure more info on that or how to do it.
as for rocketjumping, jump maps help immensely and im trying out mem aim maps for snipers/scouts
The cvars you are referring to are the netcode ones. Now I’m not sure what you in particular are looking for, but here are some that will help everyone. I assume everyone has a decent internet connection.
cl_cmdrate "66"
cl_updaterate “66”
cl_interp_ratio "1"
cl_interp “0.1” // “0.1” is default. You want to keep lowering this value until hilarious jittering happens.
rate “25000” // Can be adjusted according to your netspeed… usually the range is 25000-30000
What is the guy’s name? Chances are I might know him. I am also participating in the beta. All I can say so far is that you guys can get hype for the future.
yea ive seen people post one setup like that and other people post different ones saying to adjust certain cvars to your ping and lerp ms as well as cl_inter 0.1 being bad for hitscan weapons.
this setup is good for all classes?
sorry about the dumb questions im trying to get better and maybe find some scrims to join
I’m curious, where was it mentioned that the beta was geared toward 6v6?
Dude, nothing wrong with asking questions to get better.
Everyone has their own setting and own explanation as to why they set it, even the one I posted up may not be agreed with by another player. That being said the cvars that I put notes on are the ones where you should experiment with. The other ones I highly encourage all you guys to implement ASAP.
I really love destroying people as Soldier. I can’t stop ranting about how much fun this class is, it’s been my fav since TFC and it continues to be tops. Rocket jumping to weird high up places in corners and then just destroying people from an undetermined angle is perhaps one of the most top-tier defense tactics in the game.
Thanks again to those who showed up today…a small group, but as usual fun times, especially during discussion.
I whiffed Scout’s taunt so many times…
Hmm, I hope for everyone’s sake that statement is premature. There are things in here I am sure you guys and the pubbers would be interested in, and without knowing anything they already are as evidenced by a huge steamforums thread all about it:
