When it comes to tiering the classes, like someone else said it’s mode and map dependent. However, God Tier in all those formats is Medic, period. Games are decided by the Medic interaction. Sure you don’t kill anyone most of the time, but everyone waits for the Medic so they can do a good push.
Demoman is powerful indeed, and probably would be #2 on the tier list. Area control, huge damage. However, I just want Valve to make sure that if they nerf stickies, they don’t nerf it’s effectiveness on sentries (Sorry Nos99).
In pubs, Engineer is EZ-mode cheapness. It’s not fun going against three level 3’s with only one uber push. Sending three spies won’t do the trick either. It’s usually hard to take down because nobody teams up… in Team Fortress 2 haha. Note: In competitive play, you’re allowed to have two engineers on your team, but nobody has utilized more than one in today’s formats)
Spies are risky. Nowadays it’s difficult to get a clear backstab, and I mean in such a way that people know what to look for in an enemy spy, as well as the backstab registration itself being iffy. However, the surprise factor makes them worthwhile.
Duck Strong: I felt that the Pyro was nerfed quite prematurely too. Honestly though, that +50HP was kind of BS sometimes. I just did not like the part they took away the falloff damage. Taking that away before the +50HP was an injustice, not bringing it back after taking out the +50HP is also screwed up.
For the most part, I like what Valve has done for the game, but sometimes they don’t know shit about gameplay design.
I just got done with 40 kills and a win in a successful Badwater Basin map. I played a Spy and we were attacking. Cloaking, running out, unlcoaking behind them and killing 5-6 guys before cloaking again is absolute cheese.
Anyways, today at 7:00 PM Central, we should meet in Geese’s server.
I main Heavy but I’ve mostly been playing on DM_DUELED maps.
I pick sniper to counter snipe if I’ve been getting picked off as heavy, and demo to counter sentries on choke points, but mostly heavy. I’ve been getting into scout though, dumping crit scatter-gun shots on soldiers is fun.
I’m about to get this game. My friends talk a lot about it and after watching lots of videos I can agree that it will be a blast to play.
I really enjoy both the character and the play style of the Scout, but from what I’ve learned, he appears to be a difficult class to play. I think it’s because if your team doesn’t dispose of turrets then you’re pretty much screwed.
Anyways, I’ve seen the how to play videos, but is it possible to play as a good Scout consistently without your teammates’ aid?
I main Medic, but if I notice there is a substantial amount of Medics…I switch to Engineer.
As a Medic…I tend to hate Spies with a passion. There was one session I played where this one spy was basically stalking me. Everytime I got uber, he somehow got behind me and stabbed me before I can hit it.
Yes…be annoying as fuck.
Use your speed and doublejump to your advantage.
Use your pistol in med-long range…bat/scattergun short range.
I actually sometimes make enemies waste their ammo trying to kill me…especially pyros.
…very good tutorial IMO.
So rush down, zoolander, Oroman, and myself were the only people who could apparently make it to this one. That sucks, I hope more people will show up in the future.
