I’ll be buying it then. The spy class is beastly, but I keep fucking up when I use him :lol:.
Look for a map called achievement_box or something like that… it’s really the perfect setup…
IT even has a plate that hurts you while you stand on it… so you can like have to medics stand on it healing each other and get the 10,000 health… Or go find a turbo server and have your stats get jacked like mine.
ubersaw is too good/fun.
It’s always nice to come across a spy or enemy medic and bonesaw them for 1/2-full uber if you don’t get a crit. Very nice bonus. Haven’t had the pleasure of doing the double medic uber dance though, hopefully soon.
Yeah my map had all that. It just didn’t have instant respawn. =(

Thanks for the farming last night guys. I went from about 7 to 17 achievements at that time.
Blu spy on goldrush is too fun. And engineer never ceases to be entertainng on the red side, so many places to cloak/hide and put up a sentry. Goldrush really does have a place for every class, now that I’ve got all my medic achievements I found myself playing around in lots of different classes depending on the situation called for atm. A few successful times on red left me as the #2 guy on the board as engineer

I actually got Trauma Queen and First Do No Harm in an actual match last night. I thought I would need a “farm match” for those two. Only a few to go!
Anyway I had to kill the server this morning as a huge storm blew through here. My old computer was struck by lightning years ago, and I didn’t want to risk that again heh.
About the MMO/achievements/whatever… I like MMOs so maybe they don’t bother me like they do some people, but I think Valve should only have put in a single achievement to unlock all 3 weapons instead of 36 achievements. The 1mil point one. Maybe they could lower it a bit to make it more reasonable for the casual players, like 500,000 points.
But I think that’s how they should do it for each upcoming class as well. Only give them one achievement, and make it something that doesn’t require farming or obscure playstyles to accomplish. Just make it so it takes some actual playtime with that class. The spy achievement to unlock? 5,000 backstabs or something. That way you aren’t playing the spy in a way he isn’t meant to be played. It simply ecourages you to play a spy, A LOT. Then people who already play spies may have the achievement already unlocked, or unlocked soon. And the people who never play spies will have to actually spend some time with the class. By the time they unlock it, they might be pretty good at spy and enjoy the class.
I think that’s what Valve should do. Everybody wins that way. The classes who already play themselves will have them unlocked easily. The people who don’t play the classes will benefit from the long-term exposure as a learning experience. It will make everybody more well-rounded.
Here’s the funny thing: With the “Free weekend”, the spike of Medics are balanced out by the newbies who want to try other classes, and you thought having too many Medics was terrible? Nawwww Heavies being gibbed over and over and going the wrong way is a little more rough IMO.
I still thought the 1 million healing achievement should have been 10 million. It’s the most productive for the class purpose and it would kinda help out people who complain like SephirothKMFDM. Another one of the achievements that is productive is the one where somebody screams for medic and you go and heal them. That should’ve been increased to 1000 or something. Almost everything else is just plain silly.

Me and Shougunner (some random dude from the UK who wanted to do medic achievements with me) were working on the 1mil healing when Dano logged in, so I invited him into the triangle to heal. Me and Dano then went afk/asleep while Shougunner just went afk (cuz it was daytime in UK).
I had a feeling he’d get bored and get back in game heh, so I wake up to find he left my healing beam at some point and I only got up to 860,000 (damn!) and invited several of his buddies in the game. I skimmed back over the chat and saw PickUpThatCan joined and was like wtf and they were like wtf and whatnot.
So, yeah, that explains any confusion you may have had. I can kick all those non-SRK’ers if you guys want to get an SRK farm session going again later today.
Man can I just say like The ubersaw is my favorite addition to the medic… It makes smart attacking with the medic viable and rewarding. I will never go back to the regular saw.
Hey guys, I’m having issues getting “With Friends Like These…”, the one where you play a game with 7 or more friends. I added an entire server at one point and still couldn’t get it. Do you guys have any ideas, or recall how you guys first got it?

If any of you guys need to work towards your medic achievements still (specifically the 1mil healing), I can host an overnight server where you can heal while afk and not be kicked (I finally learned some useful admin commands). I’ll start the server around 11pm or midnight central time.

First Do No Harm is just not fair…HTF can I get to first place without killing anyone?
I think I would have to take point on offense, and defend like crazy on defense, heal, hit ubers, repeat…and try not to get killed.
you don’t have to get first I think… just be the first medic and be on the leader board. Cause I saw someone get it who was third on the leader board where there weren’t any other medics.
What it means is you have to be medic on the scoreboard, not on the MVP thing at the end of a round. And you CAN kill people, just not in the round you earn the achievement.
Example: You can play as soldier the entire game and build up a decent lead in points over everyone else on your team (this is based off the TAB score board). Before the start of the next round, switch to medic. Go through the whole round without killing anyone, and if you are still on top of the TAB scoreboard, then you will earn the achievement. You don’t even have to be on a winning team. I got the achievement after Red got run over by blue in one of my games and I had the most points at the end.
