Team Fortress 2 - Heavy Update, New Maps, New Mode are all live now!

If you want meet the scout in HD, run this link: steam://run/5032

Keep the availabilities coming guys, looking good so far. Mostly EC players I see, but I’m sure that will change soon.

I gotta say though, I have a guilty pleasure in playing spy. Just got done playing a few Dustbowl games and in the last one I managed to Cap 2nd point of the 3rd section all on my lonesome (11 players per side) because of Lax defense at the cap point while they were holding us down in the hallways/corridors right after the first cap point on that section. It’s such a good feeling. You die a lot as a spy, but when you have those moments of 5 straight backstabs or capping the last dustbowl/gravelpit point by yourself, or even sapping and destroying a bunch of sentries/dispensers or even just knowing where your actions helped the team to win, god damn it’s fulfilling.

Genius, just genius.

I still liked the Soldier, Demoman and Heavy vids a bit more. Those were made of win.

But the Scout swiping the enemy Heavy’s lunch after batting the crap out of him was pretty funny.

I really need to get back into TF2 next week, but Smash Bros, school, and PSO: BB have been taking up my time lately. Also, this shitty Geforce 7300 LE isn’t making it any easier to get back on.:sad:

I’ll still be on next week though and go back to my Medic/Pyro combo. :bgrin:

That pretty much describes why I love the Spy. I always feel like I’m really helping the team. If we’re getting owned by Sentry/Dispenser combo, its the spy to the rescue. Its the spy who rushes into 2fort and zaps everything so the scout can get the briefcase. Its the spy who sneak around as a medic, and take out the Medic-Heavy combo safely. Yeah, you probably won’t end up near the top of the scoreboard and might have more deaths than kills, but God damnit its a fun job.

For some reason I’ve actually been enjoying playing engineer lately also. As long as the engies have decent communication with each other, you can venture around out there and snag some kills.

This is an excellent Engineer tutorial vid btw.

Is there anyway I can get an invite to the SRK group? I guess I’ll jump on the hax bandwagon too…

I just got this and I need a good team to play with. Been playing medic and soldier mostly.

Btw I have a 5mb up connection so I can host some nice 16 player matches with little lag. Hit me up if you guys wanna play.

Btw I’m playing on 360. Source games have been crashing on my pc lately because of some video card problems. I’ve done everything like using driver cleaner pro and reinstalling new video drivers but I keep getting that damn blue screen display error 20 mins into the game.

How many of you guys played TFC?

Anyone know when this shit’s coming out today? TF2 is on another computer and i don’t wanna keep it on while I wait.

I used to play that shit all the time. It was one of the first games I was playing online like crazy besides tribes and quake 2. Still have that shit installed.

Because it’s Valve and they never keep promises like that, it’ll probably be here during the week. Valve Time is serious fucking business.

Yargh…where’s the update?

Probably won’t come until later in the week. Was looking at the steam forums and I guess it’s release is The WEEK OF April 20th, not actually April 20th like 1up.com stated. Oh well, we can still schedule a tentative date for the haxing, but I’m not entirely sure when the update is coming out so we might have to reschedule depending.

Could be tomorrow, and as late as saturday. Otherwise Valve time wins again.

How are you going to get the 1000000pt heal achievement? Just going to circle jerk like 15 medics and leave the game going?

The problem with that is that the game says “heal points” not “how long you’ve held the healing gun on someone”. There’s a difference between the two.

So you actually have to physically be in a game healing people. I’m almost at 2 mil now with like 50 hours of medic play. So yeah, it’s a lot of time you have to spend to get the 10mil.

Valve time wins again. 6 years for Half-Life 2, 9 years for Team Fortress 2, and God knows how long I gotta wait till Episode 3
