I think we should get a group of like 4 srk’ers together, or more if more people want to join in and help, the weekend after this is released. We can just go into an empty server and knock out some of the harder achievements.
The demoman taking out 8 buildings in one uber-charge is something that seems highly unlikely to happen during a regular game. Teleporters are never near the dispensers/sentries so that would mean you would have to get take out 4 dispenser/sentry combos in one run. When do you ever see 4 engies on one team?
I’ve only gotten over 7k heal points in one life once, 10k is a lot. Spies are always gunning for the medics.
Assist a heavy in killing 30 people in one life? Tha fuuuuuuuuuuuuck?
Blutsaugher: You leech 3 HP at a time, which isn’t much until you remember that you gain between 1-3 HP per second by default… which still isn’t much.
Ubersaw: There is indeed a negative, and it’s attack rate is 20% slower than the bonesaw. For those that know, bonesaw is the highest likely weapon overall to crit without the crit formula going into effect, so if you thought it was easy to get kills with bonesaw, perhaps you need to think about it again with the ubersaw. It is unknown whether the ubersaw retains the same high crit-rate as the bonesaw, but it doesn’t matter to me in particular.
Also, here’s how you find out how many healing points you achieved since you’ve been playing Medic, in case getting to 10 million achievement does indeed, count the retroactive healing pts:
Go to the /tf folder on your steam folder.
Open tf2_playerstats.dmx in notepad. You can see stats from all your classes in all areas (dmg, deaths, etc)
Look for “iHealthPointsHealed” “int” in the Medic section. The number next to “int” will be how many points you’ve healed total. If you get either 0 or a number that you think is too low, it’s likely you’re looking at the wrong class or section respectively.
That one actually isn’t too bad. I remember when Valve first released the weekly TF2 stats, and I was shocked to see the Heavy constantly leading the points per hour and kills per hour stats. Then I actually started playing a heavy, and it all made sense heh. Thirty kills in a single life obviously won’t be a cakewalk, but it’s definately doable.
The demoman destroying 8 buildings… now that is ridiculous.
Meh. The medic achievements just inspire more people to make private parties and get them the wrong way. Achievements should be something you get eventually.
I know man…I’m sure it will be hard to find an open Goldrush server on opening day. I’m cool with that, meaning there may likely be more Dustbowl servers open.
I don’t play Medic but I’m really impressed with this update. I’m crossing my fingers that the Spy achievements will be half as creative as some of these.
I was just throwing around ideas in my head for one of his new weapons; a Spy could get some sort of small miniature device he could plant on enemies. It would increase damage from sources other than you by 1.5x or so, giving you assist points if they die. There would have to be some way the opponent knew he had it on him, perhaps a feint beeping sound every 12 seconds or so. Maybe going back to respawn would remove it, or there could be another way to get rid of it.
As long as it’s not something like DUBBA DAMAGE REVOLVER. Can we at least get a silenced gun? Haha, shit.
Goldrush looks cool. Blutsaughter looks cool also, but I dunno. The whole stealing health thing is great, but I was playing for like an hour earlier and got like 3 kills because of crit syringes, so I dunno. I’ll prolly use blutsaughter when I unlock it.
As far as spy is concerned, they should give him a remote bomb. Plant the bomb on the sentry (it doesn’t notify engineer, so the engie has to stay around his sentries and visually see it to knock it off), but he has to decloak to use it. So you plant it, run around the corner, decloak and detonate for a building destruction.
Or give him a device instead of sapper that allows him to pass through enemies for 10 seconds or something.
I think we should just wait until next weekend. It’ll give us more time to get a set time together and since the release is going to be on sunday, we should just all try to enjoy the new map a bit before getting uber serious about getting the new weapons via achievements.
So yeah, either next friday night or during the afternoon saturday. Should be a time that everyone would be available as well. Something like 9-10 PM EST (6-7 PST) on Friday or 2 PM EST/ 11 AM PST sat. morning/afternoon. We could do it Saturday night also, but I figure since it’s the weekend people’s time should be available. It’s too hard to setup games during the week with work/school and the whole time zone thing.
Let’s start a signup. Post which days you would be available (BE SURE, DON’T FUCKING SAY YOU’LL DO IT AND THEN NOT SHOW UP!) and which you would prefer. Include steam ID as well, even if you’re in the SRK group. Also, if we get enough people, we could split up into a WC/EC group. Lag/ping shouldn’t be an issue since we’re not actually playing, but it would be convenient to be able to have people from the same area together. So include your “region” - WC/EC/CEN
I will be updating this post as the list grows for supposed partakers in the haxing.
I’m lumping Central players into both groups for convenience.
Steam ID is listed first, with SRK nick in parenthesis
