while the whole soldier vs demoman, not healing X class, dying on purpose, etc is kind of annoying, just remember that it’s all in fun. Who cares if the medic won’t heal you because of your class? This isn’t some nancy pansy afternoon pickup basketball game, THIS IS WAR MAGGOTS!
You’re not allowed to be a conscious objector to this, you need to pick a side. You’re either with them, or with us. If you’re not with us, you’re automatically with them, and will be dealt with accordingly sissy. This is serious business, man up and join the war.

I guess this means that the first unlock announced today will be a soldier unlock, right?
I think they’ll probably do 1 demo/solider item update per day, and one day on the new map, leaving the update to release on thursday when they announce which class wins the super item, and what that item is.
I bet at the end of the war, everyone gets some sort of medal that shows which team they fought for (i.e. which team they contributed the most points to), that would be a pretty fun cosmetic item

The fuck…i just played tf2 2 days ago and all of a sudden im now hearing about these updates
Valve propably hasn’t updated T2 for PS3 have they because I’ve heard that they despise my system.
I’m pretty sure it was EA that ported the Orange Box over to the PS3, so Valve doesn’t give the PS3 any official support. It was a mind blowing day when they updated the 360 version.
If you look at the up the Major Update links on the side of the blog, you’ll see they already gave the War Update a date(the 17th)
So they probably won’t start announcing weapons until monday at the earliest
They just started it early since this one is player involved.

Sorry for the question, but i havent played TF2 since May, what does the new update feature?
I’m enduring this war thing but I’m kinda hating it right now to be honest. Part of TF2 being fun for me is all of the classes being represented, even though that my favorite is soldier. It’s also probably going to drive me away from the soldier after the update is out for a while because of all the fucking soldiers that will be playing. The class that gets updated is the class that becomes the most popular for a couple of months at least which is going to annoy me.
I just hope that the soldier doesn’t get an unlock that is completely retarded like the sandman.
I’m not sure about this update, but you also have the class-less update (Spy weapons, hats, hats, and more hats, from late July/early August).

I agree. Its a clever idea and a different way to have an update, but all I have contributed is two soldier kills. The servers with only red demos and blue soldiers seem so damn pointless to me. Spamfest. I have become a whole lot better as a spy this week and probably wont play as demo or soldier until all this hype dies down.
Here’s hoping that the Soldier’s new weapon is an M-60 machine gun. I think that’d be straight up beastly.
