This might be a no-brainer, but I figured I’d mention for anyone who didn’t already know…
Getting a Canadian passport is the slowest process in the world. If you don’t already have one, do not put it off. Apply for it now. If complications arise (common) it can apparently take months.
It shouldn’t be anything crazy like how it was back in the spring of '08. I remember getting my passport in three weeks, during the summer of '08. You can get it in a week if you pay more, I think. Maybe I got lucky though. : )
Really? I heard it varies from place to place, and I think if you put down when you’re going you might get it quicker. Whatever though I’ll be handing in my application next Monday at open, cuz I hear the line ups can get quite big

Got my plane tickets a few weeks ago for about 400$. You just have to be lucky. As I said last year, you can wait until holidays like July 4th for discounts but those are never assured and you’re cutting dangerously close to the actual event.
And thanks for reminding me about passports Deadfrog, mine expires 3 months after evo (and I know customs officers start giving you shit 6 months before it expires).
I got my passport up to date in November and got it back in a week and a half so it really isn’t that bad.
I’d still say don’t wait though…might as well get it ASAP and have it be one less headache to worry about.
Getting my passport at the end of this month, I’m pretty sure 179 is the lowest I can get via Westjet for there and 159 for back…still thinking if I should book a room or not.

I’ll be coming to EVO this year. I am moving to vancouver a bit before evo and I’m not familiar with vancouver <-> EVO trips. I assume that flying from vancouver is the best way?
