I know the KI TE2 is uncommon ground but USF4 one is common ground, what about the regular TE2 (xb1)? Trying to figure out if a crossbone is required or not. Cheers!
Iām not sure I follow, can you clarify what you mean by back up USB OUT terminals? The TE2 Crossbone uses solder points for the USB connections so I donāt quite understand what the issue is.
Iām not sure if it is clear but one of the silver terminals has fallen out which I attribute to my
cheap soldering iron and amateur soldering skills. I already have another crossbone coming in but i want to see if this is salvageable.
If you have a multimeter, make sure thereās continuity between the data pads and the little chip next to them. Not sure if above or between the usb pads. Do it while not plugged into anything.
Touch one probe to one of your data lines, and touch the other to the feet on the chip until it beeps or reads 0.00
Again, not sure if itās the chip between the 2 usb lines or if itās the one above them. Either way, repeat until you get a reading between all USB pads and the chip.
I am being told itās the chip between the 2 lines.
it looks like the solder pad for the d- has been pulled completely off, and because that trace runs on top of the board, the only way heās getting that back is if he solders directly to the corresponding pin on the IC in between XB1 IN and SYS.2.
nothing is unsalvageable, just requires a more delicate touch to get it working
As for the heat, too much of it and/or applying it for too long can do this. Iāve pulled my fair share of pads off things and have completely obliterated them. this is salvageable, but probably not by you (sorry mate).
Anyone willing to run a Jumper wire to the right pin for this gentleman?
