Tatsunoko vs Capcom Thread V.3 - No homebrew/offtopic talk please

I will be playing this on Sunday~

Saki / Doronjo / Roll <3

Thanks for the clarification on the throw breaks. As for your questions:

Team supers are done by hitting P during the SUPER FLASH of your super. You gotta commit to doing the team supers early because as soon as your super starts animating, you can only do a DHC (which is just doing the desired motion for your partner’s HC)

If you look at the manual it seems like you can choose which super you use (even which assist you use, but i can’t seem to get it to work right) but I don’t know Japanese so I could be wrong.

As for the partner swap at the start of the match, it’s easier just holding P. If you hold P at the start of the match you’ll switch to your partner off the bat.

im also wondering how to do this.

You can do this by holding P or the down direction, pretty sure.

Throw break is just throw. 6C.

The number way really is the way to go, being the buttons are labeled ABC and P (not D!).

Roll is serious, btw. I have several ways to safely set up her healing, and its lv1 so i can do it all the time. Its frustrating as hell when a Roll player does this to you.

Im maining Alex/Polymar for now, because they feel natural and easy. Some of the other character I like are very unorthadox and hard to get the hang of, so ill give them some time. I see potential.

Ryu shinkuuhadouken is getting old already. Shit is so fast and usually safe.

Good to hear!

I don’t suppose there’s any news at all of a miraculous US distribution rights consolidation to facilitate a US release?

good, more polymar players. Now im playing polymar/yatterman-1

theres some thing I wanna test with those 2 guys.

Have you found a way to get the air grab reset with polymar easily?

Yes, I have the airgrab reset down. Took me two minutes to learn. I rarely miss it.

Launch, a, b, b, double jump, b, b xx 360+two buttons

Oye this games amazing. Ryu is ridiculously fun. His supers are absurdly quick. Overhead punches into shin srk or shinku feels so good.

His air dive kick combos into the schweet chop super (dp motion). He’s an amazing partner as well because his chop super can set up for so many things after nearly everyone’s supers.

I’m almost 100% certain that you input a grab to tech another grab.

Is SRK setting up a subforum for this or is there another site for MvC/TvC type games?

There are 2 types, definitely: Variable Combination and Delayed Hyper Combo (according to the manual).
Variable Combination is when both characters do the super at the same time. To do this, just do your character’s L1 super and while they’re still ‘sparking’ press P and they’ll jump in and do their super. It uses 3 gauges and your original character will stay 'out.

Delayed Hyper Combo is when you have one guy do his L1 super for a bit, and then your other guy comes in and does his super. To do this, just wait a little after 1st guy does super, then enter the proper command for the super you want 2nd guy to do. For example if you have Casshern out with Ryu on standby, you can do his HCF+Any2 then after 2 hits you input the QCF+Any2 for Ryu and he’ll tag in and do his Shinkuu hadoken. With this, you can actually link 1st character’s L1 super into your 2nd character’s MAX super (but you can’t link anything off of a MAX it seems). You only need to have enough gauge to perform this. So you’d need 2 gauge if you’re doing two L1 supers (as opposed to the Variable Combination/SimultaneousSuper’s 3 gauges), or 4 gauges if you’re linking an L1 and a MAX. Also opposed to the Variable Combo, the 2nd character who jumped in will remain ‘in play’ once the supers are done.

One thing about the Delayed combos though, is if the first Super involves changing camera angles (such as Casshern’s HCF after the 2nd hit), it looks like you can’t link the 2nd one after that point. Attacks that don’t change the camera angle such as both of Ryu’s L1s, you can wait until the very end of the attack to link the 2nd character’s super.

The 3rd type that I think is just character specific is Batsu. He has 3 different animations for his MAX super depending on who you choose as his partner, and he seems to be the only character I’ve played as so far who includes his partner in a special animation for his super.

Like ‘iloveu’ said, it’s just P/D/Tag you press/hold down when it says ‘fight’ to switch up.

Just got VJ, he’s pretty crazy :stuck_out_tongue:

Double supers by that do you mean you do lets say as soon as you do ryu’s super you press P so his partner comes out and does his?

edit: someone beat me to it and did it better

Anyone have all the characters unlocked yet and a game save they can share? :wgrin:

Is alex headbutt loop still in it?

Yea i know how to dhc… But just needed to know the double team super. So thanks for that info… And clearing up the character start feature.

I assume this is because in Rival Schools you had a “Tag Team” super (by hitting both shoulders buttons on the PS/DC controller) where it would do a different super based on your partner/partner’s school/etc, and then there was the generic one everyone got for themselves, which was, for Batsu, the double Shinkuu Yaisen (or whatever he says, that’s what it sounded like to me).

Still that’s pretty cool, using models like they do they don’t have to make unique sprites for everything, they can just tell the model to do X and it does it.

I finally got this game around 1430 yesterday, unfortunately I usually wake up around 1500~1700, so I was dead tired when it arrived and just went to sleep, then woke up and went to work. I really can’t wait to dig in to this game.

Gamefaqs has a save with all the characters
