Tatsunoko vs Capcom Thread V.3 - No homebrew/offtopic talk please

im with this, the numeric notation its not rocket science, it doesnt take time to understand it, and it feels natural to read imo

Numbers are the best, I find tekken notation to be confusing

dizzynecro: your avatar is classic

Dont know if it was posted already but when Roll does her heal super if the drop lands on the opponent they get healed instead.

This game looks great

lol i’m out numbered but i bet if we had a poll in general most people would prefer u,d,b,f.

dont matter anyway. i already decided not to spend any more yen in the arcade learning any other character. all the stores around here are sold out of the sticks. i decided not to have two of the same system that i never play and lastly what a coincidence, twilight princess is sold out for the first time ever :rofl: i just have a brand new TVC copy sitting here and not being able to play.

It’s confusing for YOU. People who play 3d games are used to it. Numbers are faster and shorter. Stick with it.

We Guilty Gear/Blazblue players also use numbers, its easier.

whats the handicap everyone playing on?

So do all of us who play IAMP, SWR, and EFZ.
Numbers ftw.

Has anybody started the wiki anyway?

So wait, wouldn’t the above notation be the easiest in this case? I know we like to stick to numbers or letters, but the motions are there for a reason. Why not use them when we can?

This would be the best way I think to do it, and this way it clearly avoids confusion. When certain inputs are difficult to put in than we can resort to using numbers or letters.

Because people are lazy and it takes too long to type out the smileys, lol.

I was playing this earlier tonight, it’s fun as hell for sure, but I have a few things I noticed:

  • Casshern seems to be pretty lacking in the ways to combo in to his QCF+P/236P move, or maybe I just didn’t find them while playing, he’s still fun though.

-Alex’s new voice is awesome, and superjumping away and cancelling air normals in to whiffed powerbomb is decent meter build.

-Ryu air Shinkuu comes out really fast, TvC’s AHVB?

You don’t even have to type that shit out!

:qcf:x2 :hp:

There, that took me less than 15 seconds. Let’s make things easy for ourselves here and keep it professional.

Numbers works. Anyone who wants to argue that 236 is harder than qcf should realize they’re the same number of characters, but 236 is more clear :stuck_out_tongue: We still haven’t decided on any “any button” shorthand though…

Anyway, on topic, I dunno about throw breaks. Has anyone managed to do it? I’ve only been able to tech Lightan’s throw.

Snatcher: there is a way to at least make his 236K (we really shouldn’t use P since it’s also the assist button… maybe K then?) safer by using Friender’s flamethrower. I think you can actually charge using Friender as an assist shield.

Actually, it’s always been kind of like that in all Vs. games. I remember using it in XSF (which I suck dicks at but I get the occasional funny top gaming moment) to punish random launchers easily. Same motion, same effect pretty much.

Anyone know how to do double team supers yet?

I also found out that in the beginning of the match right before it says “fight” you can start your second character in the fight by pressing all a+b+c. If it’s not that, then it’s all 4. I’ll test it out again when I turn the game back on in a bit, but it does work.

I’ve broken a lot of throws when me and my friend were playing today. Given I had no idea how to at first, but I believe I was tapping A+B when I was teching his throws.

Sounds good

I still agree that those are easier to understand especially since that’s the way games normally have them and not with numbers. Now, personally I can understand the numbers somewhat since I was getting used to it when I played Ah1 and Ah2, so it’s not too big of a deal. Yes, typing numbers are faster and take less time, but the general arrow display or (qcf) is still good too. Idk, I guess people can post whatever they choose to, and if you understand it a certain way then just do what’s best for you.

Also, since this is a four button system setup, I suggest this:

:snka::snkb::snkc:
:snkd:

A = Light
B = Medium
C = Hard
D = Partner

I like this as well.

I played the game a good couple of hours today. I like the way the TvC stick feels compared the Wii Hori.

Demon Hyo its joe (li joe) Glad to see you playing. I really dont post but I see you asked about switching guys before the fight. Just hold P. I am going to have a youtube channel up with a lot of matches of this game and all the NEC vids i got. I might post some ryu/chun combos tonight
