Tatsunoko vs Capcom Thread V.3 - No homebrew/offtopic talk please

I agree… That’s confusing for most people who don’t understand that.

I’ve no problem using UDBF :stuck_out_tongue: problem is when I wrote my post I was mixing up the letters and the numbers which might have been more confusing, so I just went with numbers.

I was kind of thinking of using EX for the ‘Any2’ as well actually :stuck_out_tongue: but then we still might need one for the single ‘any’.

we need an official forum in the strategy section IMO for all the characters

the numberpad notation isn’t hard to understand and it works better than having so many letters.
If you’re using A/B/C for light/medium/strong attacks that doesn’t work as well.
I personally think 4B reads better than bB. lol

Someone was asking how to break out lightans grab you just shake the joystick and you break it I think

I was just thinking, this release of TvC feels a lot like the MvC2 release. TvC has now been released on a system (the Wii) which is considered weaker than other rival systems on the market, similar to MvC2 being released on the DC which was considered less powerful when compared to the PS2 and later the Xbox(granted this scenario isn’t exactly the same as the PS2 and Xbox were released afterwards). My point is that the MVC2 port on the DC is arguably better than the PS2 and Xbox ports do you think the same thing may happen with TvC should it see the light of day on another console? For example, the PS3 and 360 versions may look nicer but may not be as fun if certain elements are removed from the game? Just a thought.

DC was THE fighter system

Anyone know if the joybox converter works with those universal arcade sticks Pelican put out a few years back? I doubt it, but I kind of hope.

How the flip do you do a hyper jump in this game? I have done it here and there but I can’t recreate it consistently so I don’t know what the combination is.

sorry i didnt specify but when i typed “jc” i meant jump cancel not jump “C” as jump C will knock them down into the ground.

and btw i think that the TVC stick is actually pretty good. of course not as good as the new hori’s (the heavy behemoth for the PS3) but its at a cheaper price.

Good to hear about the stick,my shipment got delayed till tommorow because by some act of God it snowed in Lousiana haha.

They wouldn’t even let me pick it up the bastards! /note to self NEVER go FEDEX

d, u/ub/uf

whether youre talking or typing, its just easier and more universal to use u,d,b,f. i dont even bother trying to understand what someone wrote if i see the numbers especially if its a long combo.

i noticed this is the arcade also. i used to play marvel so i know how to super jump but a lot of times especially when the op super jump then i try tp super jump, i get a regular jump.

On the oldschool arcade US cabinets you didn’t even have to do that. Could just flick the joystick, and because of the spring it would hyper jump haha

I dont understand Yatterman-1s assist, sometimes it hits and sometimes it doesnt. I think its because only the ball of the kendama hits…but I havent found an useful setups for that.

has anyone tried using yatter assist for combos?

It’s really just preference I guess. I don’t find it hard to understand either way because when i see something like ‘236’ it automatically translates to QCF in my mind. I think either way works, it just bugs me when you combine u/d/b/f as directional input with an a/b/c attack scheme for some reason.

Alright everyone, I’m going to TRY to start the wiki for this game. Please e-mail me if you want me to compile the information so it’s easier for me to upload. I will give credit to those that contribute (I think you can do that on the wiki, right? o_O) Anyway, please feel free to add or correct ANYTHING on the wiki page. I too am learning this awesome fighter! Happy fighting’s!:woot:

Edit: Right now, I can’t do anything. I signed up, but it’s not letting me in. If someone else wants to post it, that’s fine. I’m typing up everything that I find in Microsoft Word. Finished Oni dude.

I just want all of you people to know that this game is in my Wii right now. However,I can’t play it until tomorrow, since I have an exam to study for tonight. In fact, I even went through the trouble of putting both my Wii remotes in my car today. I can’t wait to play it! :lovin:

thanks! btw, this game is CHOICE.

i disagree. the non-numerical notations might be ok for a non-combo game like SF4 where the combos are barely longer than 5 input commands but it doesnt suit well for combo based games. like someone said earlier it gets harder to see the commands when the whole combo is written out in letters only in these games since some can go for a long time.

however i think the Tekken notations are the best, and they use the u,d,b,f with numbers for the attacks buttons. works well i think. i think the VF people use these notations too?

but it doesnt take that much work to get used to the numeric notations imo…
