The only reason that was in it was because the version everyone tested at Evo gave your char meter for hits during a super as well. This was the only reason the super looped.

boss is pretty hard with him though.

edit - the second form boss is kicking my ass. he’ll do his super throw and, as far as i can tell, lightan can’t escape it. he can’t jump out (no super jump).

edit 2 - fuck what i said about the second form, third form super throw is straight bullshit. i think you just have to be lucky in hopes that the boss never does it.

Not to nitpick on Hibiki but the lvl 3 super didn’t combo in that vid :confused: Still nice showcase though. I think the easiest way to combo into it is through mash-A lightning legs. I don’t think you can do it from upkicks, but you might be able to do it from spinning bird kick though.

(On a completely separate and unrelated note, I just beat the new Prince of Persia. One of the sickest endings EVER)

i beat it with both lightan and the pgx. the boss’s supers u need to press all 4 buttons (the super break thing) or less it’s instant k.o. with lightan, what i did was just jump forward and medium button and u land fast enough to block his attacks. just keep doing this and u will pretty much win. when the final form does the flame super, after it passes u, just do your super.

only thing u need to remember is to break out of his supers by pressing all 4 buttons.

I just played it and tried the SNES wii controller.
Is it just me, or I can’t map anything to the shoulder buttons?
Don’t tell me that this can only be done on the crappy VC controller… :frowning:

I have a question, In the “Gallery” is it suppose to have the ending with the character you beat the game with because my just has Opening Movie and Background Music?

This game has the worst final boss I’ve seen in ages. No fun to fight whatsoever. If it wasn’t for the points that Arcade mode gives, I’d quit at stage 7 every time. Why can’t they just make a boss that you can stun for a change?

Yea the boss is more challenging than the sorry excuse for a boss in mvc2, but yea I know what you mean. Once I unlock joe and the other tatsunoko character I’m never fighting him again.

random stuff:

you can only call assists while the stick is in neutral or at forward. in other words, no back, no down if you want to do assist combos

you can still call assists while doing crouching moves, you just have to let the stick go to neutral when you hit the assist button. its kind of tricky

assists cannot be called during jumps, but they can be called during grounded special moves which make you airborne (ryu’s uppercut, hurricane kick, etc.)

  • karas can just dash in and link whatever after the first hit in his rekka series (b,f+p). any hit linked off of the rekka puts the opponent airborne, though. you can still just chain into launcher

  • obvious, but karas’ qcf+p reflects fireballs

  • also obvious, but karas’ d+B is like a fullscreen fast low poke that you get a combo off of (chain standing C, rekka, links)

  • kara can do his level 3 super (hcb+pp) after his forward throw

  • chun’s f+C can be made pretty ambiguous which way to block. call assist in midair to get a launch off of it

  • easy 20,000 damage soki combo: d+A -> s.B -> s.C -> f+C -> B+C just frame -> qcf+PP

  • pretty much nothing soki has is safe on block (cover with assists)

  • hcf+p and dp+p have infinite super armor

  • hcf+p is an overhead, B+C just frame launches

what’s everybody’s best ryu combos? i can get about 22000 with alex assist and 1 meter, but its a little too difficult for me to call a b&b right now

c.A -> c.B -> s.C -> c.C -> f+C -> qcb+C -> call alex assist on 3rd hit of hurricane -> land -> dash c.B -> df+C -> jump cancel -> j.A -> j.B -> qcf+A -> qcf+PP

You actually can call your assist when you jump. It has the same properties as mvc2. You can only call them out in normal jumps, not super jumps. So you can jump, air dash and call assist just like mvc2. Try it out

If it wasn’t for the grab during 3rd form, I would say MvC2 boss was a bit tougher. With Chun Li it’s far too easy. It’s only “wildcard” is the drain hyper, which can be dashed out of in most cases. Everything else is just block, then attack, and repeat.

If you want to get points quickly, play the mini games with the wiimote. Had over 1600 points in about 5 minutes. Only reason I played them was because my thumb started to get a bit smashed, but I was surprised.

In ways yea… Also what are the 2 question marks that u buy in shop that are 1000 points each? They labeled 1 & 2. And does buying the music add extra music in the game or is that just soundtrack music you can listen to in options? Also last question, are there extra outfits you can buy for the characters?

Oh and tech throw seems to be just hitting A+B after they try to throw you. If that’s not the proper way and sum1 else found out, then please post.

Also chun-li can link her reg fireball into her big fireball super from a combo. (If that hasn’t been posted already) The baroque combos into air combos then the partner switch in the air to finish it is just too good. Plus those multiple dhc’s everyone can do is really cool too. Feels so much like Mvc2 with a new twist and less cheap stuff. Doesn’t seem you can guard break anyone because they are invincible coming out which is a good thing.
