Do make sure to call ahead, it would be terrible for you to go to the store when they don’t actually have it (this happened with one of the locations it said was near me)
Thanks for the link; I’ll be looking for one tomorrow
I wish my Fry’s would them in stock for that price but last time I went, there were none available.
I was looking at the Nyko Perfect Shot and it got me thinking. The Perfect Shot looks like it employs a wire extension from the actual remote down through the grip of the gun so you can plug in an accessory into the bottom. I’m wondering if it would be possible to make a “Wiimote to GCN” cable whereby the Wiimote accessory (in this case the stick) plugs into one end and on the other end is a GCN plug. I don’t know about the pinouts and all that but it was a thought.
You’ll want this stick. Believe me. =D
Are Gamecube controllers gonna work for this game?
I’d still rather hack a TE w/ a Gamecube pad
I’ve played the Japanese version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom just fine with a Gamecube controller.
Sounds promising, cryptic or otherwise.
That being the case, there’s a good chance an MC Cthulu-modded stick would probably work fine then. That PCB does support Gamecube.
$35 investment in a replacement PCB plus some time crimping and soldering wires versus $100+ for a new stick.
I’m game either way!
all the pics of the tvc stick seem to have a dust cover on the joystick shaft. the sfiv se sticks have no shaft cover. maybe its a sign they are using different parts or at least have tried improving them. i know all the pics and vids of the stick are of a prototype, but hopefully the shaft cover will make it onto the final release.

pic for reference.

"@DozerJaw No, they are not Sanwa parts, but they are newly engineered parts vs the SF4 SE. BTW you can buy the sticks now."

If it’s like the SE with its massive QA problems it’s worth about $50 and not a single penny more. You could get a HRAP SA3 or EX-SE for that price last week.
If you guys are wary, wait until some reviews from some members of this community. I think the new/improved parts will speak for themselves. Cheers!
Special gutting vid in the works!
Is this stick still going to be bundled with the game? I went to gamestop today and they didn’t see the stick available for preorder. Is it exclusive online only this time?
I like using the stock Hori Fighting Stick Wii for this game… luckily there was just one of these nearby for the regular price, so I picked it up. It’s easier to do some moves (like Polymar’s one super) with the stick because of the button layout, but the Classic Controller is just fine for this game.
I hope Madcatz really turns it up quality wise for the stick for this game – I bought the SE stick for 360 and Sanwa-ed it out, but I’m hoping it won’t be necessary w/this Wii edition.
I doubt the MadCatz buttons will be as good as Sanwa’s. Hopefully, the build quality is better and they won’t break down as quickly as they did in the last production run of SE’s.
The stock MC stick might be alright but again it won’t be as good as a Sanwa or Seimitsu stick. It’s probably like the typical FS Hori stick. Okay but you WILL notice the difference if you ever play with the Seimitsu or JLF…
I will admit, though, that I never bought an MC SE for the PS3. I’ved upgrade HRAP-lite sticks (licensed sticks using the HRAP case) or bought HRAP’s or TE’s for my system with the exception of the Wii Fighting Stick. I just haven’t been impressed by the lower-priced joystick designs in general. No issues with my TE’s or HRAP’s to date.
Hopefully the issues with the MC SE PCB’s and washers get ironed out completely this time… I agree there should be differences between low-grade and the higher-grade joysticks will high-quality parts but what happened in many cases with the last-gen SE’s was ridiculous.
People weren’t expecting to buy the Yugo’s of joysticks last time… Maybe for $20, yes, but not at $60-$80 a pop. Ouch!
woooo i just ordered mine threw gameshark. my sanwa buttons don’t feel any different then my wii hori fightstick buttons btw =P the micro switches seemed more noticeably different. im sure this stick will be awesome.
Are we getting this stick in Europe? I noticed on Neogaf that the back of the boxart showed European languages, but as yet we’ve had no announcement…? I can’t find any UK online retailers with the stick listed for pre-order and this is worrying because the game will be out in less than a month…
Sigh. I’m glad it’s like the SE+ and all but, seriously, why is it wireless only? Unless Nintendo forced it to be that way I don’t see why dual connectivity wouldn’t have worked.
Well, all sticks are really Classic Controller remodeled. Technically it’s “wired”, but it is wired to the Wii remote.
Besides, there is no input lag (well, as far as CC is concerned).
