Tatsunoko vs. Capcom stick for Wii by Madcatz confirmed

Here’s another stick for Wii worth mentioning, if only for its moddability.

If it’s anything like the PS3 version though, then the PCB isn’t common ground.

The latter.

Hasn’t pretty much every fighter on the Wii allowed for GC controller connectivity?

I know TVC, SNK, and I think GG all work with the GC controller, and if I went insofar as to count that on here, Smash clearly does too (which doesn’t matter since a GC controller > stick for Smash).

but yeah, i think devs would be remiss to not allow GC connectivity for fighters, and I think using the wiimote connectivity is horrendous.

Has anybody ever actually tried to measure input delay with the Wii remote?

I recall Toodles tested his Cthulhu against the Sixaxis and X360 wireless pad and actually found out that the 1st party wireless controllers were faster by a few ms over his board.

 not so much. Cthulhu was neck and neck against both the sixaxis and the VSHG pcb it was tested against. This ‘few ms’ is all in your head; there’s no way to test except by frames, which is exactly what was done.

my issue wasn’t quite with input delay, but dropping signal or inputs.

My mistake, I couldn’t recall the exact details and ended up typing ms when I should have said frames.

Anyway, have you tested against the Wii remote? Or is there even a game out there that’ll allow you to test this (I recall you sued VF for your tests).

i never had that problem with the wii hori hooked up to a wiimote - all the wireless comm stuff is in the wiimote itself, and nintendo has been pretty fucking awesome regarding wireless

samurai showdown anthology can’t use the gcn controller apparently.

Yeah, Samurai Shodown Anthology is what I was thinking about since it doesn’t make use of the GCN port. I don’t care much about that game in particular but rather think the dual connectivity function on the stick would be useful in case of any future brainfarts like that. Basically, a catch all feature. Plus, it’ll be nice to have simply for the wireless option. It can’t be that hard to implement, right?

im sure toodles will add the wii support to his mc-cthulhu eventually =S

It might actually not be too hard to do latency measurements on the wii, as its easily hackable - someone would just need to come up with some simple program that displayed the difference in time (ms) between the gcn button input and the wiimote button input

I’ll stand by the Hori. But the Exar one looks nice.

Is there going to be a TE version or will it strictly be SE?

I just went into my local Gamestop (Kingston, Ontario, Canada) and had to transfer a pre-order deposit, so I decided I’d put some cash down on TvC.

When the sales clerk typed it in, he saw that in the system there were two SKUs - a regular and an Arcade stick bundled edition running around $100+, so that’s pretty good news I should think.

going to gamestop tommorow to reserve this.cant wait this will complete my arcade stick collection

Capcom stated via their Twitter account that the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Wii is on the way:
“still in the works. more official word coming in a couple of weeks.”

old?

from markman’s flickr:

cord being only 1M probably means it plugs into the wii remote and not the GCN port

Why are you disappointed? It says WII on it. From a major 3rd party vendor. Of course it’s going to fucking plug into the wiimote.

Sorry, but would’ve preferred the official arcade stick to be from a company with better QA.

That sucks that it’s a SE.
Makes sense given the market condition though, lot easier to sell a $50-60 peripheral with a niche title than a $150 one
