Thanks for the links. I was actually getting ready to order a few of these for TvC and was wondering how well they would work with the Wii.
that video is sick
fail
Should I get this game even if I’ve never played the original before?
What original?
This is the first in the series. Unless you count Capcom vs SNK and Capcom vs Marvel games as part of the series.
Besides… When it comes to fighting games you don’t really need to play the games in order unless you’re in it for the plot. Just playing the latest/best in a series will do just fine.
And fighting game plots are better when read in a summary on the internet anyway.
I’m really thinking of gettin a wii just for this game.
Only problem is, at the moment I don’t live near any place with fighting game competition. So without online, I’ll be stuck playing mostly against the CPU or my (very casual) friends who mainly play Halo/COD4.
So yeah, whether or not decent online makes it into the game may be a deciding factor for me.
About that vid Yin posted, it’s very high level play from a while back. The game has stepped up since then, but that’s still absolutely top level play. The Karas/Ryu player (kubo) just qualified for SBO a couple weeks ago.
There is one reason I want online play for this game:
I want to play against yourmother.
Where do you live, dude? We’ve had 3 TvC tournaments in the last few months in Chicago with no signs of stopping. We’re actually thinking about getting a ranbat system set up for the US release (assuming its better for tournament play).
My Doronjo/Yatterman needs some play time against high levels.
(btw - I’ve gotten 4th, 3rd, and 2nd in said tournaments)
I was just noting the reception to this game around the internet and man this game is getting slammed. It just seems like anyone who doesn’t own a Wii just shits on it. Will people grow out of these console wars already?
Pretty sure if this was a PS3 or 360 exclusive they’d be all over this.
Console war?
It’s just stupid to release this game on a console no one has.
Case in point?
Console no one has? There are over 23 million Wii systems in the United States.
That’s more than Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles combined.
I own a Wii and soon will have a compatible stick, but I, too, wish it was ALSO (emphasis on ALSO) coming to 360, as that’s the system my custom stick is for AND, in NA at least, there’s more online competition. That and I believe 360’s online infrastructure is fairly stable given the right netcode (I could be wrong on this).
Dr. B can use the Wii’s motion controls without a Wii-mote (MIND BULLETS). And universal diplomatic immunity ensures that he can legally call it a “Wii-mote.” Don’t ask me how that works.
That’s telekinesis, Kyle. How 'bout the power…to move you?
Wish I wasn’t a noob to the “Dr. B” stuff, though. I want in on the joke too
I just hope all the bullshit infinite’s get fixed. Yatterman is pretty nuts with his from what I remembered. If they fix the infinite’s and add some good netcode I’ll be more than happy to buy this and make a stick since I have like 11 spare Gamecube remotes to screw with. New characters would be nice but I don’t mind much even if Date or Yukimura from Sengoku Basara would be pretty awesome.
Yes more people have wiis. At least half of those people don’t care about conventional gaming. A huge amount of wii owners only play games like wii sports and mario party. Its all non-gamers who only bought the wii as a cool little toy to mess with. Regardless I can see why capcom is testing out the market on wii fighting games.
I’m not talking about kids and moms playing Wii Fit. Lolz.
Yes, I’m sure the major part of the 360 owners are just salivating for a cartoon fighting game featuring characters they’ve never heard of. It has every ingredient of a popular mainstream game right there, it’s sure to be worth it. It worked out really well for Battle Fantasia. What fools Capcom are.
