Is it a complicated controller to figure out… hackable wise? I thought the classic controller seemed relatively inexpensive, have you ever tried to hack one?
Does anyone have feedback about the other Wii stick? I guess it’s not a Hori then?

Hacking the original PCB is easy. Im trying to get down how that talks to the wiimote so I can use one of my boards instead, but they seem to have a bit of encryption going on noone has figured out yet.
Yeah, Wii arcade sticks are based on CC. TvC only uses four buttons (the full upper row for the three attack buttons and the mostleft button at the lower row for assist). Since you only need four buttons in TvC, you can assign the two extra buttons on the lower row for stuff like two attack buttons, etc.
so… no one else thinks they’re really ugly?
Honestly, I like the 2nd stick best. Shinkiro’s awesome art can’t suppress the fact that, the 1st stick is blue.
yuck
woops
No mention if they have somewhere to store or hook on the wiimote. I’ll just play one handeda and hold on to it.
Those sticks look pretty tight
my post my be completly stupid, but i’ll still give a try, did you check this out ?

hope it does help (and sorry if it doesn’t :))
Oh hell yeah I’ve read up on all of that. The key part is this:
Since a normal game using the thingy connected to the wiimote DOESN’T initiallize with a zero key, I have no way of knowing the proper way to communicate, and it’ll take a lot of work before I can know.
Like I said, Im looking into it, but again this is likely something I won’t even have time to look into until summer. Since I already have GCN support down, if TvC support GCN controllers like MarkMan said, this will be a non-issue.
oh, I get it now !
so basically you can make those homebrew extension controllers work on PC/Mac or even wii homebrew, but not for actual games, because they behave differently.
It’s also definitely true that most arcade games on wii out there work with GCN controllers, so it’s pretty much a non issue. (and it also has the advantage to work for GC hardware/games)
If one really wants a wireless arcade stick, wouldn’t it be possible to add a similar wireless transmitter as the one inside the wavebird to the Cthulhu/UPCB and use the wavebird gc dongle on the other side ? I actually never opened a wavebird…is there any kind of encryption there ?)
Now Capcom do Street Fighte IV on the Wii
I’ll happily answer any questions you might have in the Cthulhu or UPCB threads, but I think we’re poluting this thread.
Well, no, the Wavebird doesn’t have any encryption per se, since if I’m getting my facts straight, it uses RF signals in order to communicate with the receiver. Big issue would be interference from other devices.
True, sorry
Ikagi-chan>and also that 1st gen WBs are 900Mhz and the rest 2.4Mhz
okay, back on the TvC sticks
I hope we’ll get details soon on the components inside…seimitsu maybe ?
I cracked open my ps2 neo geo stick the other day, if TvC are made the same way it’s gonna be painful to mod/dual pcb-mod. :\
As it been confirmed yet or not if TvC will feature a online matching mode ?
Play-Asia has the arcade-sticks available for pre-order.
Exar Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Stick
Exar Stick
Use code UK-GCS-BKJ to get 5% off the price.
Made by Exar, so it’s quality approved.
complete noob on hacking here, but Can I use this controller for the ps3/pc via usb?
if I have to mod it, how hard, or what are the procedures to do so?
link?
thanks and regards
you could also just use it without hacking on pc if it has bluetooth though. (you just need to plug it to a wiimote)
that might lag a bit but hey, so will it on Wii when you play TvC.
WTF?
Where are the extra 2 buttons which go on the end? The ones that get in the way and annoy everyone.
