I don’t actually think that’s correct, no. As long as the assist is mashing on block, you are unable to be pushed out. However, if you do it too late, the assist may leave before your followup, and you can be pushed out (must be what you’re talking about?)
I’ve never heard of being pushed out during an assist.
right now im running tasky( para arrows) arthur(flame bottle) and doom( hidden ). it seems to be working quite well, i might reposition arthur and doom for some matchups but right now its working pretty good. I start off with tasky at point and play mostly keep away with assist and arrows until they get antsy and try to rush in. this is when i mix things up with assist and spidey swing.
also a good way to get in is to wavedash to standing M(B). its a really fast move, has great range, hits twice and can combo into standing h into spidey swing etc. etc.
If you’re running Tasky, Arthur, Doom, I think you can change your BnB to cancel into armor into Doom’s Sphere Flame. As long as you end your last air juggle in the corner, instead of doing the j.m j.h j.S, land, H Air Arrow, HM Legion Arrow, you do j.m j.h Air Arrow, LM Legion Arrow xx Armor xx Sphere Flame. It should connect on the way up for good damage, get Arthur his gold Armor, and look pretty stylish
Guess I’ll have to take your word, I have no way to test it at the moment. I suppose that will be an important aspect of the game to train then, correctly push blocking during assist block.
I’m not too well versed with Trish, but Mag is pretty solid with Tasky. You can force backroll at the end of your combos (4C is good for this) and call mag to cover your approach to keep the pressure.
You can also call Tasky Beta when you launch with Mag to get some sweet damage in his air combos as well as some getting interesting air dash mixups.
I think he’s a fine assist, but its really up to your playstyle.
I like being versatile with rushdowns and with zoning. While Magneto has an equally good if not better projectile, I’m just not as good with him yet as I am with Trish, but since we’re pretty much only a little over 1 week into the game things will probably change. No sense in settling down on one team now right? Maybe I’ll sub them in for somebody like Hulk or Shuma, but yea thanks kurasa.
I just got home and retested the Chun+LSM thing, and yep, you can be pushed out if they time their pblock correctly. All they need to do is time their pblock so that they are pushing Taskmaster. It happened to me a couple of times last night during casuals and I was like “WTF?!?!?!”
But I don’t think its something that will come up very often.
Yeah. They can force pushblock on the Point if they pushblock at the right time. This is where assists that hit multiple times, quickly, come in handy. If the assist and the Point are hitting at almost the same time, then it becomes almost impossible to p.block without luck. Even the CPU can’t p.block the point when the assist hits the same time as the assist.
I use Sentinel Drones to get in with Taskmaster, then I try to swing pressure combined with X23’s low assist to get an unblockable.
Pushblock can throw some wrenches in my plan, but I’ve had pretty good success with it so far.
I may just play Task/Sent/Chun at the our tournament tomorrow. I got in a good 5 hour session last night and it was just really hard to set up Wesker unblockables against a competent player. Chun + LSM was really good though as he would only push me out like 40% of the time…and when he didn’t…900k.
I’ll experiment with Tasky/sent a ton tonight and report any cool shit I find.
I run Taskmaster(H-Shot), Chris(Gun Fire), Haggar(Double Lariat)
They’re all pretty self-sufficient, none of them are super awesome meter dumps, and being zoned against is troublesome. I’m gonna run the team more though, I think the limiting factor is me at the moment.
I was referring to total damage including the reset since I would force the chun setup.
But you can get over 1.5 million off if LSM with xfactor 1 (no meter). Headbutt - XFC - 2C - [4B - 236C] x 8. You have to fully charge the medium arrows, then just repeat until they’re dead. 6 - 9 reps is the max depending on the character and the combo that leads into the loop.
I’m having tons of fun with Tasky/Ammy/Haggar, I’ve been spending countless hours in training mode grinding out combos and have concocted a few cool resets and other shenanigans. I’m thinking of making a video showcasing a few setups I’ve thought up, but I’m not sure if anyone would be interested in watching.
So basically, is that something that you guys would want to watch? If not I’m not gonna waste my time, but if the people want it they shall get it.
