Doesn’t instant overhead M miss on most of the cast? Also, what about j.L, in that case? It hits pretty low and is so fast that it’d really throw people off guard. I know there’s a use for that normal that we don’t abuse enough, but it’s hard to test much when I don’t have a ps3 on hand for a few weeks.
task actually does have good overhead option. mighty swing canceled into jump :h: and :s:, best covered by an assist and done in the corner.
I dont think i have, but it sounds like it may keep task in the air for too long. However, another way to open up your opponent with mighty swing is to: do a regular magic series( cr. :l: :h:) into mighty swing, but immediately cancel the swing into a FULLY charge arrow( arrows is the best to use even though no arrows come out, only a quick might swing that gets you grounded faster) and the slight delay should give you time to hit them with a cr. :l: / into a full combo.
Again this might sound confusing, which is why i will upload a couple of vids hopefully by tonight
Swing cancelling, yeah, I do that all the time. I love Task pressure, I think it’s by far his best feature, and the most fun. The best option I’ve found is to alternate between that (swing charged arrows) and swing M arrow, then alternate between not dashing up and cr.M, or dashing up and cr.L. Do that enough and they’ll have no fuckin’ clue when to stop blocking. Then you throw.
I love that team. I switched it to Task Spencer Doom though. It is really good. Plasma Beam helps out SO MUCH and Spencer for extensions, conversions, AND a damaging DHC. You can’t go wrong with that. Spencer and Doom pretty much cover the major issues Task has IMO. If you want to run Spencer Arrows Missiles, I can respect that. Spencer getting the kill off any touch although Spencer Arrows isn’t as strong as it used to be (I still play it though lol)
I was thinking missiles at first (saw your video on youtube) but if beam is better all around I am willing to go that route. Also if you’re using beam which assist do you use for task.
I would say if you want Missiles, you need Spencer on point and when he dies, play a zoning game with Task. If you want a rushdown oriented team, Task on point with Plasma Beam. As for Task’s assist, I still use horizontal arrows just because you never know what could happen to Doom AND Spencer Task THC is really good
Does anyone have any useful set ups with Black hole with dormammu? Currently using zero/dorm/task in various orders. Sometimes task up front with zero(dp) assist and blackhole. I’ve searched on youtube but can’t find any relevant combo videos…also does anyone know if you can combo into blackhole from a grounded fwd throw with task?
I’m really new to this game, but I played for a bit about a year ago and really liked Taskmaster then. Picking the game back up, I’m looking at one of the following setups. Which would be best?
The way I would normally setup a team order is to ask who benefits the greatest from the assists that you’re running and set up accordingly. For example, if you were having ran ammy first and you didn’t know if you wanted task second or anchor, ask yourself if task would benefit greater from vergils assist or does vergil benefit greater with task’s assist.
I’m not sure what assists you’re running, so I’ll just go on asumtion. Vergil I feel like has great synergy with task H arrows for mixups ( I feel like H arrow are better than hawkeye’s for Vergil point, but that’s just me ). And Ammy has proved to be a very capable anchor ( not as capable as vergil of course ). Task also has some unblockable stuffs with ammy. So I would say just bit the bullet and play Vergil point, Task second, and Ammy anchor.
Ya the team as a whole didn’t work too well after playing some matches. On the bright side I was having a lot of success with my task/vergil/akuma team so i’m gonna make it my official point task team.
I can always agree with pretty much any team that uses Task then Vergil. I mean at this point, you gotta kill somebody with a touch. I don’t necessarily like playing Vergil, but having that DHC waiting on me when I get that hit or grab really frees up my offence. I suppose I’m going to have to take the hipster route and pick up spencer one of these days for the same reason, but I digress.
I think if you were going to play task and trish, you would have to be somewhat committed to setting up unblockables with round harvest hyper. Seems like a lot of work, but if that was what you were going for you could always try putting a low/high assist in the mix to give another unblockable option. C Viper for example has a high hitting assist, and a what would seem to be pretty simple unblockable incoming setup with round harvest. So that’s like three ways you could go about getting the unblockable ( task dp unblockable, task high/low with assist, and viper’s focus ) all with round harvest to lock the opponent down. Just a thought
