Dacidbro uses Capt/Task/Vergil (I think that order) and he uses Rising Sun assist for a little bit more damage. It’s really only useful in the corner but pretty much all Task combos take you to the corner.
You can actually pick up for a full combo anywhere on screen off of a forward throw using Rising Sun assist. But if I have to bring Akuma in, Rapid Slash would help him better then Rising Sun. I forgot to consider that.
I am posting this in the Nova and Taskmaster Team building threads. I really enjoy playing the shell of Nova/Taskmaster but I have had trouble finding a 3rd I like with this duo. I have played Cap/Nova/Task, Nova/Strange/Task, and Felicia/Nova/Task. I have felt competitive with all of these teams but none have felt perfect to me. I am looking for any ideas that fellow Nova or Task players have to offer, any help is appreciated.
Try finding a good anchor for them. Task and Nova are decent anchors but have glaring weaknesses. Try someone like Dorm, Akuma, or Hawkeye. Or you could go with the awkward (but good) anchor like Arthur, Super Skrull, or (whom I’m currently using) Rocket Raccoon. Or you could just go with the obvious anchor like Wesker (which isn’t a bad thing). You just got to find the one that works for you. Anchors that are good but don’t work too well with either character to add in are Strider and Phoenix. Strider because his assist, it may be a great assist but it’s best attribute is it being able to be combo’d after a random hit which neither Task or Nova can do. And Phoenix, because she needs meter, but Task and Nova both love meter.
Can’t Nova do Centurion Arts slide (M?) into blah blah after a random Vajra assist lands?
Hey guys, I’m running a Viper/Taskmaster/Dante team, and i’m trying to decide what assist to use on Viper. I already know what assist I’m using on the other two, but I’m trying to decide which assist would be more beneficial to Taskmaster. I’m using her seismo otg assist currently and Dante can use it for pickup off his airthrow, but she most likely won’t be alive when Dante is in as he is my anchor. So it comes down to whether or not Taskmaster can benefit at all from her seismo otg, or if I should use the burning kick overhead assist to set up for some decent unblockables. Thanks for any input guys, I’m new to Taskmaster so excuse me if my question is something I should already know.
Setting up unblockables is much better for Task than an OTG assist, since Task’s fundamental weakness is his lack of effective mixup.
sometimes but it’s not as beneficial as it’s not that great for Task
Two options are set for you with a random vajra hit with Nova:
- Either do Centurion Arts :l: for the slide OTG into combo
- Dash up and do his command attack :forward: :h: for the ground bounce and combo from there.
For Taskmaster being able to combo with stray vajra hit, I’d jump to my opponent while calling Nova B assist and do an Aim Master :h: (full charge) and 1-2 arrows should hit the opponent and then they’ll be hit by Nova assist, allowing for a full combo
Uh, your assist is not gonna come back so soon after hitting with Vajra…
I’m running Zero/Task/Wesker. Any general tips/advice?
Wesker and Zero… I’d say call assists, teleport, press a lot of buttons, then profit. On a more serious note I would switch Task and Wesker’s order. Taskmasters assist is way more useful and he has more options as an anchor than Wesker. Also if Zero dies Wesker backed up by Tasky is way better than vice versa.
…
I could not disagree more with everything you just said. Wesker is incredibly superior to Task as an anchor; Wesker is an upper tier anchor while Task is near the bottom. Wesker assist is much more useful for Task than vice versa; Task can use Spidey Swing+assist unblockables, while arrow assist doesn’t hold the opponent at an optimum position (like, say, Unibeam).
Taskmaster becomes useful in helping Wesker get in on an opponent. Also, Tasky helps with hit-confirming/combo-extending with the Horizontal Arrows assist with Wesker’s Forward gunshot and the OTG gunshot.
I guess on this we will have to agree to disagree. I think Wesker is greatly overrated as an anchor and that is amplified by how well most players know this matchup at this point in the games life. I guess he is a decent scrub smasher but against anyone who has experience he’s just not that great solo. With an assist his teleports become safe and he gets ways to setup his command throw. Albert just gets infinitely better when he has a good assist behind him.
Task near the bottom for anchors? He has amazing normals, does crazy chip and is great at tagging assists. If he is fortunate enough to have x factor he has access to his infinite and full combo off of air throw like he did in Mvc3 . I guess to each his own, but I feel like I have a more versatile solo character with Taskmaster than I do with Wesker.
Task as an anchor is really bad at comebacks. I think we can all agree that mixups are not a strong point of his game, and when you combine his lack of high-low game with his inability to effectively chip against SJ runaway (when solo), Task becomes very one-dimensional as an XF anchor: chase and throw. Wesker is incredibly superior at converting throws at any height/direction and has much better mixups off of teleports.
I’ve been running Task/Joe/Sent. I got a 1.1mil touch of death combo with task that builds 2.5 bars and only cost 3 to do. Along with some super broken stuff. Maybe if i get down to Option Select stream ill do it on the stream tonight.
I figured out a way to end joes combos into taskmaster and for w/e reason the game restarts the combo bar and also resets the damage scaling lol
SENTINAL!!
I’m running Task Nova Sentinal as a current practice team, and I gotta say 1 touch = death + free mixups on incoming character.
My guess, Icekid, is that you use Joe’s bomb assist for the massive damage + meter. I’m curious to see how I could fit drones into a damaging Taskmaster combo. All I got so far are random hit confirms into some damage (about 600k)
Hey Icekid, is it possible to have some footage of that Joe to Task combo that reset scaling (aka: Ghetto DHC Glitch)?
