Taskmaster combos - Anything you can do I can do better!

finally got my stick back tonight so able to test stuff while messing around with the joy of having training mode again

the thing that moons noticed with task’s air backthrow having a longer untechable time…

it means that taskmaster with the right assists can combo from backthrow from ANY height. even superjump top of the screen, he can combo as long as the assist he’s using is fast enough. he simply needs to do the same thing as the front throw combo (in fact, the timing is very similar in how immediate you have to do the swing arrow cancel) the only character who i’ve tested this on that can’t be comboed off of from a superjump height airthrow is sentinel (even the weird weight guys like mags, tron, dog all work). normal jump ones are fine against sent though so it’s all good.

and because videos are the simplest way to show how something works…

The key is to hit the charged arrows as Taskmaster is descending (descending from the short hop). In other words, don’t input the charged arrows too early. It’s tricky, but you’ll get the hang of it.

I know a lot of tasks stuff is outdated. Can someone give me a new bnb thats over 650k and not too execution heavy. (Solo also and is practical to do in a real match)

What, you mean like… Without super? Because that’s not really gonna happen.

Just learn the moderately difficult stuff. None of it’s that bad. :d::m: :h: :b::h: (delay) :s: sj instant j.:m: j.:f::h: (slight delay) j.:h: (delay) j.:qcf::m: (charged) |> :h: :b::h: :s: sj k.:m: (delay) j.:h: j.:f::h: j.:m: j.:h: j.:s: |> :u:j (delay) j.:qcf::h: (charged) is 560k and that’s about as much as you’re gonna get. It’s easier than the corresponding vanilla combo was.

Why would I want a bnb without super? By solo I meant no assists. Also when you right delay is it delay the move before it or the one after
BTW thank you but got any others? I want to have a couple before I start going into actual matches with task.

Well, I was curious because he doesn’t have difficulty beating 650k with a super even with the basic stuff no one uses anymore… If you throw a super at the end of that string you get 760k, two supers is just under 960k. And only 25k less if you lead into it with :d::l:.

No problem friend, anytime. I have it very consistent but even I still mess it up. Another advantage I have is that I do mess it up, I usually just DHC into Veil of Mist and keep it safe.

I hadn’t even considered trying this. This will definitely work with Tatsu. Great find!

It’s very difficult, but it seems I can use low back throws to combo to Armor Piercer with a properly timed partial charge down arrows. I was never able to get that off of any forward throw… And it’s less damage than what you’re getting, but it’s way more damage than just going straight to super. Pretty cool…

Ok dokie thank you very much. Just one more question is there a vid of this just to help me get my timing down or a combo similar. It would help a lot.

Sounds fair.

Also while recording for this something else happened and I thought it was wacky

Standing vertical arrows OTG on characters taller than Task. It is indeed wacky.

Thanks again.

Do you guys have any TAC combos for Task?

Sure, probably!

BTW stark in the taskmaster combo vid you sent me in the second combo that starts at 15 seconds. You do s, sj m fd.h, h qcf h,. But are you sure you are doing qcf because it looks like qcf m.
I’m actually having a lot of issues with that one am I not landing the air m into fd.h early enough?

EDIT: NO THE ONE I REPLIED TO and I am doing the combo in the corner. I’m assuming it works anywhere.

It is QCF M and it works everywhere. You have to hit the M into swing low to the ground, so as early as possible, then delay your H reasonably long to maintain that height for both characters.

I’ll try. It’s weird because I usually don’t have problems with instant combos.

Thank god for youtube annotations, fixed
