Damn thats deep. I understand now. I find the walls consistant in the stages lightning storm/rustic asia/cemetary/Fallen Colony/Noh theater/eletric fountain, but stages like Urban War Zone(2 corners in upper right)/Mystical Forest/City after dark ive been getting inconsistancies. It might just be walls that arent flat or corners that arent at perpendicular angles you just cant trust. One thing ill slightly disagree with (thats if your talking about the engine if not than disregard or it may just be different for your pad /shrug) but i do my jabs and fast moves the same way but basically sliding my finger just like with lars f2,4 punisher and i get it every time.
So again not downing you in the least but at least on an a.stick i get 1~2, and f2~4 everytime by sliding .
you cant equate stick execution to a pad ever just dont.
The game response speed is slower than any other tekken period. I know that its just an adjustment but its always annoying when in a game your reaction speed is faster than the response time of the game. Since the rate at which your doing thing is not the rate at which your character is corresponding to your actions.
Now walls are horrible. Most of the stages are too small and wall splating someone because you couldnt see the wall then ending up backturned on top of having your combo fucked up is stupid. Wall splating someone should leave you at a distinct advantage in every situation and it doesnt. Also bounding someone on the wall should always provide you with a combo. But with more than a few people trying to hit someone in that state will take you off axis even if your lined up squarely or for some others backturned. But I think thats because its not arcade perfect since I have never seen it happen in the arcade.Hell half the stuff im saying does not happen in the arcade.
Im dissapointed more in namco than I am in tekken itself. After such a long wait and the fact the arcade game was built on playstation hardware mean there is no reason for the game to be anything but perfect. The netcode is shit but im not getting into that. The game has been slowed down. Stages are glitchy. Very few solid frame traps. No tech traps. Now I dont know if the crush system is still in or not sometimes. With some people on offense or defense they seem to follow the crush system. While other dont at all. I have been lowed out of so many hop kicks that i would just like to have a namco representative tell me so I stop trying to play according to the crush system.
For me the game is fun but frustrating. Lately when I start playing frustration quickly beats out any fun.
I love sf4 the only thing I dont like in that game is reversal windows. GG is great im just not very good. Marvel is an excellent game I just dont play it. BB is nice but has balance issues. No comment for mbaa. Fate is fun. Hell if arcana heart was arcade perfect I would be playing that now.
Hopefully the way I feel about tekken right now will pass or patch will come out or something. Since I really want to love tekken6.
Well i wasnt trying to compare execution as a whole just button sliding, but i understand.
Well you and adonis opinion of the game is a gift and a curse. A curse because i tekken play will go downin play but a gift because ill be getting other experience in games like SFIV and BB.
Now above all i just wished you guys played MBAA, but theres nothing i can do there.
Maybe you guys should use this time to play other games you might enjoy more like if i could get you guys on some KOF 2002 UM it would be the tightest. I dont think that would happen.
Well i suppose tonights session, if there is one, will be filled with more BB/SFIV than tekken?
EDIT:
I also agree with you adonis about this version being out of date. Ive tried to do Lars wierd backdash move off of ws2, and a few other moves only to find out the shit isnt even in the console version…
biggest let down for me was AH3 being fucked up. I really wanted to get on that game bad.
If you instantly cancel into any of jin’s CDS moves then you don’t get the benefit of the high crush from the stance (with the exception of the 4 which is also a complete high crush move.)
The 3 is pretty useless because it has negative range. the 1,2 is not bad if used as a counter poke tool, and the 2 moves only horizontally so unless the other person is moving forward than you are going to whiff.
Now that d+4 is not ws 2 punishable that is his best low poke by far since it does good damage, tracks, and has mad range. d+3,3 is kinda crappy because the second kick has negative range now and it may still be launch punishable. down back 4 and 1,d+3 are other noteworthy mentions but that doesn’t take away from the fact that jin’s low game is still not that good and should not be heavily focused upon.
My main thing with jin is just raising my execution and perfecting my punishment game.
Oh yeah and after busting out the tape my stick seems to be working a ok so no worries.
james electrics themselves are not officially listed as high crushes unless you perform a dashing electric but trust you will never ever be jabbed out of an electric. If it happens you were hosed on an epic scale.
Jins low game is much better than it ever has been. You get half life off cd 4 now, you have 1, d3 which has to be fuzzy guarded twice since the 1 d3 is relatively safe since it has a 4 follow up thats mid and only jab punishable.
D/b 4 is only ws 4 punishable from max range as well doing a chunky bit of damage and on ch gives combos.
d4 is great now as you mentioned and has great range.
b1 cancel 4 from max range is also only ws4 punishable not to mention you can mix it up well with b1 cancel 1,2 a natural mid combo that knocks down in that funny way where if your fast enough you can do a cd 4 to pick them up for combo’s if they try to get up.
Now each low I mentioned also has a mid who’s start up animation looks similar to allow for easy mix ups. Is his low game really strong? no but its better than kazuya’s or even devil jins and they get the job done with what they have. So what he has is more than enough for him to get his work in. He only needs his lows to set up ws 2 and can can kicks which can be set up with electric. Everything with him now really is just getting consistent electrics and throwing them out there often to keep people from doing anything so you can get off. Without the electric his low game doesnt really matter same as any other mishima not named heihachi. He needs his electric to get in to keep people out to start his mix ups, to force people to duck to force people not to duck. There arent a lot of jin vid but if you want an idea of the direction they went in with him look at some old t4 kazuya vids stupid but true.
Or ask adonis since that his old business and he knows what im talking about.
Totally off topic: I can’t stop playing Aion. There I said it. I’m trying to keep up the love on the fighting games but they’re getting neglected because of this damned Aion game. Level 40 Assassin now. Just get’s better and better.
Anyways, I think casual Aion play will happen soon though regardless. Leveling gets “really” slow after 40 so I don’t want to burn myself out.
I give up on that stick. That cord is fucked. Its either duck tape or put a new pcb in that shit. Sucks i missed out on a tight session too.
Best buy said they have a really good return policy on monitors w/o restocking fee if opened and i found a 2-3 decent 23" monitors that are only like 15-20$ more expensive than new egg. I plan on testing 2 of them today.
Well then i dont know what else to tell you with jin. I agree with Jay. GL with him then.
Next time we play lets do a ft10 your jin vs mine. Using only what ive gathered from 20min of pmode. That and im extremely confident in my ability to wavedash from both sides.
I dont know how the hell your stick keeps messing up. When i test it at every angle for hours i have no problems, and then it dies when your playing with it. /shrug.
If anyone is down for a session today hit me up.
OH and is anyone buying that Call of Duty MW2? I really want to get on it.
EDIT:
T6BR
Im pissed. what the fuck did they do to bryans laugh?!!? Sounds horrible. ;_;
I dont think its a problem either way. I just think they need to just test shit that happens on the walls alot more. You have all these people beta testing shit for other games you need top players beta testing these games… Loc tests arent enough. In the end im just glad they took out elevation like in t4 and that little wall push throw.
Asus VH232H. Has no/negligable lag from what i can tell. I dont notice the difference.
Im confused why does tekken look like ass with motion blur on in 1080p? Looks like when its on you lose anti aliasing…
I actually like the concept of walls, but they never balance the shit correctly. The walls in DR were the best walls imo. There were a few silly tech traps by them but at least they were all consistent. T4 had too many practical infinites, and in 5.0 EVERYONE had a damn tech trap by them.
So I picked up King and I figured all his new shit out. I’m starting to believe that everyone in this game has ridiculous wall carry. Not anything to rival Steve/Lee/Bruce, but damn near close to it. Still gotta work on Raven since people are doing knees in his combos like he’s Bruce. I also went through Zafina’s movelist, and I totally understand why people think she’s crap. Her wall carry kinda sucks, and all her pokes are either 1-slow or 2-take a long ass time to recover. She can’t block out of any of her stances it seems. She probably has about 8 good moves you’ll have to whore out the whole time. Someone can probably make the stances a little tricky, but I’m willing to bet that most of the strats are just shenanagans that she can be poked/SSed out of.
As far as the Jin conversation goes, it doesn’t matter how shitty you THINK someone’s lows are in this game, you HAVE to use them. They nerfed Kaz’s low game to hell in T6, but I still have to use them to encourage ducking. That’s why I’m HSing and db+4ing all over the place now b/c trying to get people to duck in this game is a incredibly difficult task (unless you’re a top tier or have someone guessing by the wall).
Me, Ron, Logan have been saying this for a week now.
Man i was wondering when you were gonna get on that good raven. Ive been watching this damn good raven playing on HongKongTekken on youtube. That cat is the business.
**Yo, Tallahassee… some of us SRK users are throwing an offcial SF4 tournament, going on this Friday Nov. 13th
**
It is being held at this cool new, clean, modern, sleek lan gaming center on Appalache Parkway. The store is called GameScape. The owners are friendly and excited about the fighting scene in Tallahassee. Come and show your support and SF4 skills. All the details are are in these links… post in these links to help build the HYPE! Let’s bring in new fighter hype and players to Tallahassee.
Been experimenting with wall combos in tekken and when i get a high wall splat and im not able to get to the wall to do additional hits before i bound. If i wait a moment and Bound when there in the low-wall splat animation the combo for some reason does more damage.
Like with lars goto Urban stage. and do
u/f4, f+1,2,3, D, DE1,2 , DE Cancel, wait just a split second to get the low wall splat u/f+4 B!, df+1, f1+4
Does 95 when i wait and 88 when i dont wierd, but i know if you are by the wall during a high wall splat you dont want to wait because you get a decent amount of hits before the B! then the followups. So this would just be situational. Just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this.
It is… it is. By far the cheapest prices for any lan center in America… think I’m kidding?
$2 an hour
$10 for a whole day
(If I remember correctly)
And everything is BRAND NEW. Smells good, new building, etc…
The owners are cool enough too.
They own Tekken 6, SF4, Virtua Fighter
I am trying to convince the owner to get BlazBlue. He seem sold on that idea too. If you guys give him regular business he will be able to do a lot of things to support the community.
People still play SF4. . . right? :\ I don’t know what the fuck about Tekken 6 so it’s on the backburner for now but I’m trying to learn. It’s been a while since TTT.
