No James, I did not take your controller. I just checked my bag and in my room and I don’t see it.
Home and down for games if anyone wants to get up give me a call.
EDIT
Logan is on his way. I want to have a smaller session this go 'round so if 2 other people want to show up thats cool, but if more want to come thats fine i just like to get in more core time with a smaller group.
Yeah, Andy. I’m a married man now. No kids yet, but we’re shooting for next year.
Gotta train the little bastard right - he’ll be pulling FADC’s before he can talk, if I have anything to say about it.
Were we planning on a get-together Friday night? I seem to remember that being said earlier.
GGs
Tonight to Logan and Mike C. in T6BR. Great games. Still down if anyone else is available.
movie night at my place 2marrow night, steve and meg will be over, anyone else is welcome to come over to watch wat ever we decide on the projector
Jay, I know you’re always looking for RPGs, have you played Valkyria Chronicles? It’s pretty old so I’m sure you’ve heard of it, but I just recently got around to buying it and it’s amazing. Probably the best single player PS3 game I’ve played (that is to say, SFIV is the best PS3 game overall).
Also Demon’s Souls and Dragon Age: Origins just came out and they’re both supposed to be quite amazing. Demon’s Souls is next on the agenda, then I’ll probably get Dragon Age for PC.
Oh yeah I beat the fuck out of valkyria chronicles a while ago the scout is too strong since most maxed out scouts can clear an entire map in one to two turns. I maxed everything for that game it was the best thing on the system last year…
Im trying to check out dragon age since it reminds me of baldur gate. Though I want it for the pc.
I will look into demons souls good looking out.
oh yeah adon we need to run some koreans
James
Well ive finished watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann once i got to the middle i just couldnt stop watching till the end. That was one of the best animes ive seen in quite sometime. I appreciate the recommendation. It was definitely worth watching. The space dimension stuff in the end was original and intelligently explained.
check out the top row of photos
remind ya of someone?
Home and down for games. Any tekken gathering tonight?
Jay so kindly reminded me earlier today that of the following:
Blazblue>>Tekken 6
Blazblue is LOADS of fun. This new tekken is just ghey. I say we go back to TTT
You know… like before all these games came out i really thought i knew what everyone was gonna like in the end, but nope i really dont completely understand you guys choices. For me ill play anything and take it seriously if it has comp.
Heres what i guessed wrong
Adonis/Jay not playing MBAA at all.
Adonis hating this new tekken (clueless, it took you longer to drop 5.0 with all its craziness)
EDIT: thanks for the scoop i understand at least this one now.
Ron enjoying SFIV (that was an old suprise based on how you first said you liked it some months back.
James disliking SFIV
MBAA being dropped was like a sword through the heart ill still play that game anyday(still go into pmode occasionally) but i feel like we really missed out jumping on it as a whole in this community
Well i guess its a good thing. I was worried (even though im having HELLA fun playing it) that tekken was gonna be played all they through feb this way i get practice on other games. Damn i REALLY hope i can make enough money to goto NECX.
lets do tag and t6
i love this game
cant wait for vet day
I haven’t and never will drop mbaa (that is my main game). I don’t dislike sf4 just the changes they made to sakura. I probably would never have started complaining in the first place if they didn’t include sakura because I would have just stuck with viper and that would have been that. Sak is still fun to play but combining sf4 gameplay with new sak equals just more frustration. I’m hoping they flesh her out in the update but she’s alright.
Hmm i understand now. I really wish you wouldve stayed with viper since adonis stopped playing the game. I really need some akuma vs viper experience and since Kensou doesnt play as much SFIV atm because of other games i havent been able to learn the matchup in its entirity.
That and i love how you flesh out technical characters anyway. It wouldve been an uphill battle but just imagine how your viper would be now if you picked her in the beginning and stayed with her… :china:
EDIT:
No hiccups with your HRAP right?
Well ron plays her somewhat and I haven’t had a chance to really test it out (the hrap) but I haven’t had any problems yet. I’ll let you know soon enough when I get some real time with it.
I don’t think T6 is that bad at all. I’m having a shitload of fun with it.
Mike, those pics look as if you’re all still keeping the time-honored tradition of drinking whatever is available at any moment alive. God, I miss Tally sometimes.
James
Thats cool just let me know James.
Also man i took jin into pmode and you do realize that you can instantly cancel into his stance moves right? I was pianoing all of his b1 moves and they come out alot faster. Almost as if they were normals. I notice when you showed me you couldnt do them you went into doing his stance and then the move saying that you wouldnt have time to get it out but when doing
B1~2/3/4 at kara speed you dont even see him do the stance not even for a split second. Again it must be done FAST if delayed any youll still get the first half or so of the stance animation.
…3 gives you a high evade into low crush hits high and puts you at adv on block. looks like mixups cittay
…2 gives you high evade into auto SS high crush that tracks right hits mid
…4 gives you a high crush sweep, from this move (youll have to wait till your standing) youll get a free d+4 if they lay there. if they tech it pops them back up and you get oki (i dont think jin can combo based on how it hits) if they back roll they get up back turned
Jin normals d+3,3 is a nat combo that hits low, mid and does 20 damage. that at most looks jab punishable on block(not sure youll have to test this out) this should be your goto low as d+4 is situational.
He also has a back dash that looks like some sort of parry by doing 1,3~b(still does back dash on whiff), that sets up, B+1~4(high crush low) b+4(mid), the b+2/db3(good) high crush, and iWS+3(Good!)tracking mid(gives you knockdown, make sure you do the d/b for the iWS so it puts you at max distance doing iWS from d/f will move you forward) really well check that out.
Also all moves that have a white trail track to both sides. for side steppers i found that
iWS+3 causes a knockdown on normal and CH hit. tracks both sides and looks pretty decent. not to mention you can also do this out of his wave dash i.e f,d/f+3 gives you the same move.
Which you can also mixup with f,d/f+4 for a quick low (which you dont want to do often because its hella punishable) that leaves them face up head towards and gives you a free d4.
again this is only after a good 10 minutes in pmode but man he has some tools that i feel like you can use alot more. I mean you have to mix people up. You cant just say you dont have a goto low. Start from d+3,3.
I dont know if youll listen or not but im just trying to give some advice. Regardless ill look forward to playing you sometime.
Having fun with a game is my main priority for choosing to play and stick with it. I have huge amounts of fun with BB, GG, T5, DR, MBAC, Fate, TTT, etc. If I don’t have fun playing a game (whether I win or lose), I tend to drop it (SF4, 3S, CvS2, MBAA, T6). I played Jay yesterday in BB and we were beating the crap out of each other. But win or lose, I was having a great time. Hell Jay’s execution was at like 60% yesterday and he was saying he had more fun playing BB than T6.
The reason I enjoyed 5.0 so much was because it was way more consistent than T6. The mechanics made more sense, and it was alot more responsive. Sure 5.0 had as much (if not more) ignorance than TTT, but it was CONSISTENT ignorance. If you teched Bryan by the wall, you got tech trapped EVERY TIME. If you tried to get up against feng during certain oki setups, you got back turned EVERYTIME. In T6, if you hit someone with a grounded mid by the wall, YOU may end up backturned, even if you’re the one that just finished the combo (WTF). The way I’ve done jabs in every tekken is just by sliding my thumb across 1,2. The actual input command is probably like 1~2, but ever since tekken 3 I’ve gotten 1,2 consistently in this manner. Not with this new tekken. When I do 1~2, I get standing 2, the next sequence of moves I was planning on doing after the 1,2, and it totally screws up punishes and setups. The lack of more than one frame trap on block is INCREDIBLY horrible to me, and the standup game is all but brain dead. The new crush system is all but gone, and alot of characters don’t have to respect any pressure at all. I was pressuring the CPU’s Lei the other day with f+1 jabs (which usually give +1 on block), and after blocking about 6 of them, the CPU just decided it had enough and just d/f+2 (15f move)me out of it. Again, WTF.
They changed the overall concept of a few characters in the name of balance(All mishimas, Feng), but once again did not balance the truly fucked up characters (Steve, Bryan, Lars, Julia, etc). This Tekken was supposed to be the highlight fighter for me this year, and it turned out to be the biggest letdown I’ve ever played. To add insult to injury, the game isn’t arcade perfect, it’s hella dated in Japan, and we’ve been waiting for it for over 2 years. For that long of a wait this game should’ve been the best thing I ever touched. Yet every time I play it I become more and more disappointed.
