If you can do it in training mode, you might be able to do it in a real match. If you can’t do it in training mode you’re fucked. If you’re so confident that training mode is worthless, I want to see your 50hit sentinel combo since it’s so easy to do on a dummy. (Aka you’re fucked)
It’s Training mode…
You train there.
Getting your ass whoop millions of times is not a really good way to learn a game of this calibur.
I would rather spend 50 cent knowing that i have the ability to strategize and plan my movements to help me win.
Besides, it’s 50 cents man. I’m trying to stay on the game. LOL
But seriously man you must be crazy if you think training mode is lame.
And who lied to you?
Training mode is only for execution based attacks/combos or practicing certian other things.
With Marvel you can go father with execution than with other games, true, but in the end it’s learning how to use that and get in vs a real player with commando or psy at his back! Thats alot different, but you have to start somewhere. And thats with your basics in training mode.
And if you want to be anal Iceman, I already pointed out that it’s not a semi infinite, but what if he was talking about snapback infinite? No need to try and seem smart to us, bud.
I do live in Oregon. Nobody knows anything here. Lol.
Oh dear. I should have tried that out before saying anything. lol god I feel like such a scrub.
You’re right. There is no right or wrong answer here, although I still agree with my opinion that training mode is no where as useful as playing at your local arcade. You do give good ways to use training mode (which was the reason for starting the thread). Thats exactly what I’m saying, not everyone thinks like you, and there are people who just go into trainning mode to try unbelievably unrealistic combos (match wise) and think they got better in the game.
i have nobody to play against, 1 other serious player around here
so i’m pretty ghetto with figuring out how to test things since nobody else can help me
training mode is really useful
i jam a paper clip into the 2nd players dpad on manual so i can practice unblockable timings with sent/random helper, i figured out alot of the unblockable then ff into assist combos this way. Pretty useful in a match(no bar 1 hit kill w sent and one of these helpers storm, cyc, mag,im)
That set-up lets me practice recognizing the limits and specifics of the unblockable(just watch the opponents animation after corner combo, time ur c.fp based on the opponents forced roll, repetiion lets me test it fully(i try and do more or less hits of the corner combo that way i can finish the combo with fk higher in the air or lower)
This gives me basic concept practice and then specifics i can iron out
i practice hella combos, that way when i’m fighting somone, the combo is already 2nd nature to me, instead of having to think about executing.
if you wanna figure out ways around assists or normals, i button map all of the inputs(2p side) to one attack or one helper and i stomp like sentinel on the 2nd player pad/stick, taping something square and solid over the dc’s four face buttons helps so i can fast fly the controller in real life easy like…
mag vs sent/capcom, map all ur 2p buttons to commando, stomp that shit(yes, ur foot vs the joystick) and then practice movin around it…sounds retarded but you only need to do it until you get the basics of mag movement vs “insert helper”
again, fundamentals and then specifics.
thing is, i’m comfy tappin my foot like i’m playin drums…
use your imagination to test out scenario’s and ways to outprioritize a char when it’s normal(mags jumping lk) vs normal(cables jump lp)
thing is, i am a console savage
wow mike that IS some ghetto ways of practicing in trainning mode.
i just use trainning mode to practice combos.
to practice really match situations, i’ll study vids, and also think in my head what would be the best option
ghetto shit works:wgrin:
lol. I did the same thing to figure out striders 100% kill on assist and some other glitchy things. Except I got another arcade stick so I can just slap the button then switch sticks. Its weird what you can find out by yourself.
I called it ghetto too till I finally tried it. Very good way to practice shit against assit instead of trying to figure it out against competition.
dont play this guy for money. I really thought I could of won.
Mixup is a legend.
There we go man, that’s what I fuckin want to hear, how to take advantage of training mode. And you my man, have done that.
Does the DC version have Auto Block and Auto Roll?
Yes.
Cool, thanks. I couldn’t find it in the options menu these past several years…
Training mode is quite useful. Happy it is there!
This guy wins
Haha. Yeah no excuses there.
I mostly practice resets in training mode (useless becuz I don’t have a stick)
