I REALLY hate arakune’s dragon move, is there any good way to punish or counter it?
Why he can cancel it on block into another dragon move, leaving him completely safe, is beyond me. I can understand it be canceled on hit for combos, but against tager, the move is dumb otherwise. It will beat EVERYTHING you do, and seems to be safe on block and when misses against tager.
I have beaten out with a well timed atomic collider, but I am still really unsure on the timing to do this consistently. You can on reaction magna tech wheel it, still hard to do. Be careful though, if you are trying to predict when he is going to dragon and do a magna tech wheel. If you do the super too early, arakune will 1 hit trade with your super and knock you out of it. Yes, this is really stupid.
When he misses with the move, he seems to recover instantly and backdash before you can do anything.
Because he can cancel the move on block, instant blocking it really isn’t going to do you that much for you. You can backdash it into 360/720, but that is a lot harder then it sounds. The problem lies in the fact that arakune can spend fucking forever up in the air, where you can touch him at all. Because he can stay up in air for so long, you have NO idea when hes going to dragon. This makes timing a backdash very difficult. Because he can cross you up with it, it will sometimes hit in the ending animations of the backdash.
This move is retarded.

Did this on my friend once:
A A A A A -> 720C
Many WTF?!s were to be had that night.
A well timed 2c, or 360b if he doesn’t tp away, and if he does 2d/5d both work.
thanks man
does any one know how many ways there are to buffer or cancel into the 720 and explain how because im noob thanks
anything that you cant jump cancel
-sledge
-2d,5d
-while in the air
-while guarding
-backdash
-5b,2b
-C’s
ect.
^^ thanks very much
This happened to me today. He dove at me and I blocked; I predicted a second cross up dragon, so I Magna Tech Wheel as soon as I was able to. I guessed right, so I was like “yes, dive into the blender bitch,” but he beat my super clean and won the round.
After two dragons, I don’t think he can cancel out of it on block anymore. If you IB the second one, you can hit him with a normal throw or a 360 before he’s able to teleport.
Can someone please explain WHY THE FUCK THE 720 IS TECHABLE its so bullshit
Your doing it when the opponent is in blockstun/hitstun. This is the only time command throws are breakable. Say you do B Sledge(blocked), then asap throw out a 720. You’ll get purple!! every time because Sledge puts you at frame advantage. So instead you: B Sledge, short pause, 720. Same goes for any move you tick into it (5b, 2d,etc), you have to time it so they’re no longer in blockstun when it comes out.
If there is no tick (you buffered the 720 motion during a jump, wiffed move, etc ) the 720 is always untechable.
Also, because of the way the game’s engine works, if you throw someone within ~6 or so frames of them leaving block/hitstun, you will still get purple !!s. So after a 5b (-3 on block) you have to wait an extra 3 or so frames before the 720 will be untechable.
does anyone know who has the best tager and where i can find vids of him playing
I wouldn’t know who’s the best, but Mike Z’s videos (including the tutorial on the BB extra disc) are extremely helpful for getting to grips with Tager.
Noel’s jab and voice is pissing me off. Anyone have any tips against Noels the jab and run to the corner every 2 secs.
Since the 720 has 5 frames of start up, wouldn’t your really only need 1-2 frames? I don’t know if it works that way though.
This might sound stupid, but I turn the volume down when I fight Noel, and I find it’s a lot easier. She’s actually louder than most of the other characters, and she almost woke up my sleeping baby son one day. Cut her voice off though and it’s easier to concentrate.
Whenever anyone wants to play runaway against me, I just charge spark bolt. It’s a great way to pressure without going forward, and they’ll go into negative way before you do. Once I have full charge, I can just walk forward leisurely and they can’t really stop me for fear of that huge fireball in their face.
As for people jabbing a lot, don’t forget to jump. Occasionally, I just jump backwards D, and it creates a decent wall so they know not to randomly rush in.
Ya your right, i keep thinking 720 is 1 frame for some reason:looney:
The best North American Tager is Jan (Mike Z comes second) because he’s been placing better than Mike Z in every tournament they’ve attended together. The best Japanese Tager is probably Galileo, and both have a lot of videos on Youtube.
QFT
Mike has more 720 setups though.
Kouji is a good JP tager as well.
