I don’t know if PS2 GGs have this (3S does), but can’t you assign a certain command to more than one button? For example, having the shoulder buttons also representing some commands, so that for complex combos you can use your other fingers, as well as your thumbs for the main 4 face buttons. It wouldn’t require macros, since each button will still denote only one command. It does give some objective advantage to pads but I don’t think anyone can complain about that.

Each command button in the game can only be assigned to one button on the pad. If that was an option, then all problems would be solved instead of sitting here and arguing. Unless someone finds a way to hack to ggxx…
edit: okay, i REALLY have a question to ask… call me dumb if u wish… i just wanna get stuff straight… when u guys say “macro” do u mean setting a button to one of the commands in the button config menu? or like program a button to do shit like “short short super” or like “crazy magneto combos” as i’ve been seeing some people say? Obviously having a button to do shit like short short super has a HUGE difference than a button that is 3p or 3k or something (or so to my perspective, but i know nothing about anything but ggxx). Which has been my point the entire time. It’s not an instant win. You still need the precision to perform the FRC in the first place. The only other available macros is P and D for Burst, P and K for FD and P K S HS for IK. But, who does that anyway?

Many people have said, a number of times, that you CAN’T USE KEYBOARDS AND PADS UNLESS YOU HAVE MACROS. They are literally impossible to use. Want me to repeat that AGAIN?
Actually, because its very clear that you don’t/can’t read very well… The one reason I play XvSF on keyboard is because thats all I had at the time. I have a pad for the computer, didn’t wanna take the time to learn it again on that. I had a stick for a little while lent to me. I played on it for a bit but didn’t play long enough to feel comfortable on it like I am on a keyboard. I play MvC2 on a stick. You make it sound like I CAN’T play on a stick. I prefer MvC2 on a stick and I like sticks in general way more because I think its the most fun. If I didn’t I’d use a dreamcast controller for that as well and macro it up.
I happen to be able to do a lot of combos and some things a lot of people find pretty hard to do on a stick. You make it seem like you guys are some next level players because you can play on a stick. Good job I’m proud of all of you. If I had a stick for XvSF from the start, like I’ve heard while we’re stuck playing on keyboards and pads every time… I would have played on it for sure.
None of the people you mentioned have any say at all aside from Nagata what happens when it comes to rules for the tourny. Another one for the “I’m a retard” file. He gets to decide because hes been running this tournament for years. Its HIS tournament that he hosts. Who the fuck are YOU to come and tell him how to run it?

Like, I dunno if you’re familiar with 3S, but for example, you can set the triggers to be jab+short for throw, or strong+forward for UOH. So, basically, with a press of a button you could throw, do UOH, or you could set a button to 3P and use that to do EX moves, etc. But no, short short super and any complex stuff like that is DEF not allowed.

You’re implying by this that if it’s possible to 3p 100% of the time then it’s a different game. What if someone has flawless execution and they can 3p 100% of the time without a macro, so has he changed the game?
Sure you can say “well that’s his execution not a macro, so he deserves the wins he gets”, but that doesn’t change the fact that this one person can 3p 100% of the time. Either way, macro or not, he will 3p 100% of the time. So by your statement, his execution has changed the game.
So you won’t participate in a tournament if someone who can 3p 100% of the time joins? Because that’s not any different than a macro, as I just proved. Or should people ban him so everyone else can play “fairly”?

Actually thats not true. I was just playing joker a while ago and 3p button fucks up pretty often while ur standing on the ground. Comes out as a FP. You need to double tap a lot to dash on the ground on a kb when lots is going on.
I know I got killed one time (cuz thats when we started to talk about it) when he shot a fireball at me with ryu and I dashed back to avoid it but punched it instead. People seem to think its some unstoppable form of game play.
