hahaha, best case scenario includes --removed by Justin’s request-- eh? man, i’m glad --removed by Justin’s request-- You can resent all you want, but it doesn’t change the fact that you’re an idiot.
To do long term business, you need to build something call a “relationship”, or “partnership”. And to do that, there needs to be an “understanding”. Right now that’s there between Justin, Stephen and Simon. What you’re doing is destroying that relationship.
You’re saying T tournies pull in alot of money. While that’s true, you have to look at the net profit, not gross profit. Simon gets techs there when there are tournies to switch things into event mode and fix any cabs that get broken due to abuse/wear-and-tear to have things run as smooth as possible. Having techs on location all day costs money, equipment costs money. After all that’s said and done, while their net profit will go up from a regular weekend, I would not be surprised that a helfty portion of the extra revenue is offset by the costs of those techs and equipment.
ANY management can argue that this is not the crowd they need to have around orbit by showing real number on how much it costs to repair/maintain everything after the tourny, and it’s not worth the effort. As TFGM has said, and i think alot of us agree, that view of the gaming community as a whole has not be a positive one. Any management can argue to the higher ups that people like us are akin to gansters, and they should not be entertaining our business.
It’s quite clear that what you’re trying to do is to play hardball with orbit management, and to be honest, they have a hell of a lot more trump cards than you do. You better get ready to play cause you just threw the first punch.
To TFGM: I know what you’re saying, but since most of Canada doesn’t get MTV, even if orbit got publicity from MTV, while not bad, might not have that big of an impact due to the demographic. I don’t think people Stateside would come in flocks to visit orbit, even after the show airs. I’m sure Simon would feel the same way. Well, not that i’m saying nothing is going to get done, we’ll just have to see how things go.
