Thats odd… thats how everyone feels when we join a fucking marvel tournament. Do you have any idea how much money you have taken from us? Please don’t tell me you dont want to put in 15 bucks to join because you have 0 chance of winning because every single one of your friends has done that every single tournament for years. I’ve spent tons of money joining tournaments with 0% chance of getting my money back. Please don’t ever say that again when you’re one of the people that actually profits off going to tournaments taking money from the people that have 0% chance of winning.

Might as well call the team canada qualifiers the “Donate to Jiggabry” tournament if it was kept as was. And just to clear something up, I’m not joining the best of Canada tournament because I KNOW I can’t beat Bry right now. Since its winner take all AND 100 bucks a head, I see no benefit for me to join it. Just thought I’d clear that up…

That statement doesn’t even make sense to me. The way it was before, I was a 100% underdog, as was everybody else who joined the tourney (except tao and JJ) since they were the only ones who stood a chance to gain money from the buyin. Sorry for not wanting to throw money away…
And about CvS2… You said 3 players (1 from each region) get to play for 2 spots. Please tell me how that format allows for mtl to get the remaining 2 spots. Use Tylor’s format please and thankyou.

yeah seriously, dont give us this “i cant win so im not gonna enter” stuff. we’ve been joining “donate to bry” tourneys for years now. if you arent that interested to see how well you’d do for $15 bucks then say so, but dont say you arent going to join because you cant win…
I dunno how to respond to that. Ever since I started playing, and never actually had a chance at winning, I joined thinking I could. No matter how stacked the odds are, I seriously believe that I CAN win money. This was the first time in my life I seriously didn’t think I coudl win money, because I honestly couldn’t… I dunno what else to say…
Yea well now you know how all of us feel going to tournaments giving you and bry money. None of us have a chance at making any money back but we try to go for fun. We’ve lost tons of money of the years doing it. I just cant believe you would say you arent going to join because you dont have a chance to win your 15 bucks back. Heck you won 15 bucks from me, james and cq last tourny.

The way I see it, if you’re joining a tourney, you still should have a chance, or at least think you have a chance, to win money. I never think, and never did think, that when I join a tourney I’m simply giving the money to a certain player. I always think I have the chance to win it. Hence, when I pay an entry fee, I’m doing so expecting I have a chance to win it back. I ALWAYS felt this, even before when I didn’t make any money going to tournies, I thought I still had a chance. I would never put money into something I honestly don’t think I’ll get return from… I figured everybody else paid entry fees expecting they had a chance, not “knowing” that they’ll lose it and that they’re paying only to see how they place outside of the money.
Easy Solution to all of this mess: Just have the winner of the invitational get a chance to play in the Best in Canada round robin unless he’s already in it.
And the problem Jason had was that he wasn’t gonna play in the Best of Canada tourney even if he won the qualifying tourney. I’m sure he wouldn’t have a problem if he got a chance to get it back, even if it meant playing the best.
That entering the tourny thing thinking you are gonna get money back might work for you, but do you honestly think that every person that joins marvel joins because they think they can get money back from it? We join to have some competition or just for fun. Why do you think people bitch about high entry fees? I already said last time I went to orbit that I’m sick of joining a tournament just to give you or bry money. Hence why the next tournament I join will be ECC and then T7. I wont be entering in the orbit ecc tune up tourny because I dont have the money to throw to you guys. You can’t honestly think everyone that joins marvel thinks they are going to win some money back. Which is the whole reason why I made my first post. I’m saying even if you dont have a chance on winning it back, you really dont have much to complain about. All of us are put in that situation every tournament and you bry or g3nn are ALWAYS the ones taking the pot. The rest of us know we are joining and losing our money.
Lets be real here Gerjay… ANY tourney in toronto will have the same 4 people fighting for those money spots, anyone else is just a pot filler, if everyone thought like you in that they would only enter if they honestly thought they had a chance of winning money then only 4 or 5 people would enter per tourney… I mean come on here, the results have shown consistency for almost 2 years now… and its not even really like anyone has a shot at taking first in either MVC2 or CVS2 so really its a fight for second and third place
Jason only said he didnt want to enter because the winner wouldnt even be getting money. That was until Stephen changed it to half goes somewhere and winner gets half. I agree 100% with him. Why would anyone want to pay $15 to enter even when the people who win would get nothing? Thats like playing in a charity poker game with your own money.
