@d3v : sure, but I think I know strider well enough to say that he`s not used to this projects history. For good ideas there is always enough place. The same for the Sync Strike: JROK has done similar projects since ages. Sync Stripper / Cleaners are used since decades. So the idea was here to take sync stripper and add as much break out connectors as possible.

People are so misinformed I’m pretty sure toodles knew what the SLG was but this thread that I created was to ask if people had made a scanline generator from mmmonkeys diagram that breaks down the whole thing it has nothing to do with the SLG3000
Toodles saw my post and said he could make a board like that and he commeted on how he could make one cheap that’s how we started the project it was something that I asked about and he said he could do something like that
I see in the shmups talking about why did they make a “hype thread” I created the title all on my own I had no Input from Toodles. The reason I named it this way is because I took upon my self to be toodles Flava Flav like when he was in Public Enemy (80’s reference not B.S. reality show) who is known as hype man. Scratch the oscope idea for a week or two; just too tight and annoying to probe around. The vga snoop board I laid out and ordered should come in about 10 days, and I’ll scope it out them.
Not being a soft cock and all but at the end of the day, then consumer will decide which product will do the job they require and which price point they will go for. AFAIK none of the projects has been patented nor copyright stamped, so that will preserve the spirit of open source projects, which we all know can only get better as time goes by. I have both toodles and bencao74s products and am more than impressed by the level of quality.
I think the reason for the heated debate comes from the fact that the concept(s) in question is still relatively new and the market has a lot of room for competitors. Passionate competition is the best kind in my book and they will be most “passionate” about their most successful product and so in that context being critical about a competitors product is part of the parcel in that respect.
The real test is when the final product rolls out and people start finding out quirkes about it, reporting the quirke and finding solutions to overcome/reduce the quirkes…Just look at the xrgb-3 as a prime example! The product with the least quirkes will win as there is less hassle to do what it does. If the competitor points out a quirke or 5! Before final production, I see that as a blessing cause the problem(s) can be addressed before resources are committed to production and less problematic for the end consumer.
The goal was just to throw together the simple circuit for those like RosserRooster who wanted something that would do the job and not cost $80. The ‘heated debate’ is encouraging me to change to focus to ‘make something better and prefferably cheaper than the SLG3000’. Challenge Accepted.

For guys that are so pro competition and all for alternative options you do seem to hate or fear it; and rather not have folks express their loyalty on products they prefer. It’s not like I spent alot of time on that post. It was snarky at WORST.

Hey guys just posting some pic’s of my GBS-8220 Chinese scaler with a custom plexi I made for it and my fugly makeshift Saturn cord made out of a S-video cable, but it works like a dream. This is not a Scanline Generator but is needed for any system that only displays 240 lines like most older systems even enhances the wii to get enhanced/high definition RGB(VGA) 480 to 1080
I must say these things are a great cheap fix mine only cost me $20 shipped. Most say the quality is not quite up to the XRGB but I hope the XRGB is better at the cost of around $500. The only issues seems are bright flashes and I’ve noticed Cyclops optics look a little off when running around playing Saturn Version of MvSF
