T-SLG (Toodles Scanline Generator) Authentic retro look from your modern flatscreen

thank you Toodles!

Hello.

When will you have this in stock again?

Thanks.

I dont know for certain, but I would estimate 4-8 weeks. I’ll definitely post up here as soon as they arrive.

hey toodles, are the pots on the shield 500ohm? Thinking I could use them from my v1.0 SLG for my supergun.

Yup.

Do both 6pin sides of the shield need to be done? or just one like in the first instruction?

I’m getting a similar problem to the guy above.

Scanlines are fine with jumpers on, they also look fine with the shield on, however adjusting the shield seems to alter the image colour balance a bit (not massive though), is it meant to be doing that?

Im not sure what you mean. With all three pots turned all of the way to one side, scanlines should look identical to when the jumpers are used. Turned all of the way to the other side, the scanlines should be much fainter, perhaps not visible. Each pot adjusts the intensity of one of the color channels, so if you have the red on faintest and the other two on darkest, the scanlines will have a very strong red tint.

sorry my mistake, the colour balance is just the overall effect of altering the colour balance of the scanlines like you said. From a distance it looked like I was making the image more red, green or blue, but on close inspection it’s just the scanlines.

any chance you’ve got some sort of pre-order or waitlist set-up for the next batch?

Nah, I hate the idea of pre-orders. Im kinda neurotic about owing people money, and it’s an easy way to get bad feelings from customers. The production batch is already paid for and rather large, and I dont have any fear of running out any time soon, so there’s no benefit for you or me in trying to do pre-orders. When they’re here there’ll be plenty for everyone.

Hey Toodles any idea when T-SLG will be back in stock?
Also are you going with a different color pcb this time. I think you mentioned something before

Im waiting on the assembled ones, and they haven’t given me any update since the ‘it’ll be a bit until we get the pots’ message. So we’re still just kicking it at the moment. :frowning:
They will have blue pcbs though.

So I bought these to hook up my snes nes n64 but I can’t get this to work. I’m using a composite to VGA adapter and I do get picture without the slg but once I hook up the slg I get no picture. Tried to adjust everything. I think install is good. I repair ps3 and xbox360 for a living so I am pretty good at soldering .

Here are some pics

What do u guys think?

You are going to need a scaler composite is all lumped together you need separate red, green and blue signals pick up a cheap ebay scaler http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=CGA%2FEGA%2FYUV&afsrc=1 also you need a sync cleaner sync strike or get one from the ebay girl along with a scart cable
also the n64 is going to need some internal modding for an RGB signal Nintendo cheaped out with N64
look through this thread we have talked about the process a few times

Any word on when the units will be back?

If I’m understanding you right, then with the slider set to ‘OFF’, you still get no picture?
You should fix the diode with the incorrect orientation if you can, or cut it and remove it if you can’t. Let me know if that makes any change and we’ll go from there.

Since Tuesday? No.

So 2 middle diods are right and the outer 2 are backwards? If so I can fix now

The diodes have a grey band on them that should be on the inside half. The one in the far left of your picture has the band on the outside; the other three are fine.

Ok I see thanks

Have you tried with the jumpers on (so without the shield)?
