T.hawk!!! Yes!!!

lol that’ll be me

i actually don’t love the overall design either, but the HMMMMMMM is too good

i’ll work on it

even though the epic hum is gone, i do like the new "I’M T. HAWK AND I SCREAM LOUD! thing he’s got going in SSF4

I always want to say BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA!!! Like that annoucer in NBA Jam when you make a dunk.

Any possible uses on being able to cancel air attacks into Condor Dive?

I recall seeing some AA EX Condor Spire that almost looked as if you could land his U2 after if timing was right.

That would be sweet.

I always yell out “TOMOHAWK JAM!!” from that announcer. Great game! The remake is comming out but only for the Wii. Sorry!

so on a purely theory level it seems as if hawks main plan as far as 360s go would be to use the fierce 360 at all times before he has ultra, and then to use the jab ones after he has ultra (720)… reason is because he can go into high powered mixups based on the jab ones if he has ultra whereas his highest damage potential off of his jab one before ultra is to get a fierce one off afterwards… and in that case it would probably have been smarter to just go for the fierce one since jab guarantes him nothing…

what you guys think? i’m not talking about some absolute strategy or anything, but just a general strat to keep in mind and try to adhere to, in order to always fully maxout hawks damage potential.

So true.I agree with that totally.

Ok, so I in talking to a guy who has access to the game, apparently when Hawk does an empty jump you CAN’T antiair him (or DJ) with a low to the ground attack like Chun cr. roundhouse, DJ cr. roundhouse, or Cammy cannon spike. Hawk and DJ are the only characters he’s found so far with this super trip guard.

Any ideas how and why this works? I’m (street-fighter-wise, anyways) a bit of a noob. I’m assuming this basically means that by the time his hitbox is low enough to the ground that a sweep would hit him, he’s actually GROUNDED and thus can block if he did an empty jump?

So, and maybe I’m getting a bit excited here, this could mean empty jump buffer 360/720 (end on down+back) option select grab/ultra 1–as long as your opponent tries to aa you with low to the ground attacks.

I posted this in the video thread, but it’s probably better to not clutter that thread up with non-video posts.

UltraDavid confirmed that you cancel T. Hawk’s j. jab into Hawk Dive at any point in his jump. In ST, he could only do it on the way up, which is pretty much useless. This is a possible use I came up with:

Jump jab tick into spd/dive mixup may be useful as well.

So T-hawk cant be AA by Blanka’s slide on an empty jump?

Anyone have any idea why Hawk can’t be AA tripped? Is it because his hitbox is really that big that he reaches the ground too early or something? What about Dee Jay? Is it because his lower end hitbox flips back into position only on the last few frames of his jump or something?

No one can be AA’ed by Blanka’s slide when they are empty jumping, AFAIK (unless they aren’t holding down-back).

Guessing thawk doesn’t have any juggling moves that might lead to j.jab > Dive mixes? Would be nice if he could actually press that possible mixup himself

From what I saw in videos, it seems EX spire knocks them up quite a bit (which is why you can combo a DP after it), so can anyone confirm if you could do like a jumping jab (or any normal for that matter) and catch them before they hit the ground? If so, that could possibly be such a scenario to push that mixup. Just speculation though since I didnt test it.

Two T. Hawks took top 3 in the first SSF4 cash prize tournament in the world, it’s listed on the front page. This is what one player had to say:

You can’t see it, but I’m rubbing my hands gleefully. :wgrin:

the dee jay player was strong but it looks like there were a number of missed opportunities from the t.hawk player. Also, important to note, do not hawk dive at deejay when he has ultra and charge… hawk dive is shaping up to be a punish-only move or else you get boned.

Its great he took 2nd and 3rd place but I believe it may be still due to the game being new and players still getting used to the match ups and characters.

I just find it odd that Juri or Cody didn’t take one of those places instead of T.Hawk. They seem like they have all the tools against T.Hawk.

I’d be more interested in tourny results after a bit of the game release when ppl can get comfortable with these characters.

and man did that Dee Jay have his eye set on punishing that dive x.x
