T.hawk!!! Yes!!!

It wouldn’t surprise me if Hawk has option select EX spire into pain, lol.

If:

-Spire is safe on block
-EX spire can be comboed from his crouching attacks
-EX spire puts you into a juggle state that normals can hit you out of
-His normals are good

Then I can see Hawk being really strong. I don’t mind being unable to FADC his DP, since with 2 meters he can just EX DP xx EX dive, which hopefully works as well as DP xx FADC.

I’m so looking forward to playing Hawk.

yea i hope you can use spire in jab combos like gief can with green hand. that would make T hawk more nasty on the inside.

Man I’ve been talking about o-s spire and dragon punch ever since I first saw them.

If Hawk doesn’t have combos, I hope he has some really good non-cancelable but quick-recovering meaty attack so I can make the guessing game into spd when I think the opponent will sit or meaty attack o-s spire/dragon punch or block if I think the opponent will try to backdash or try a wakeup attack.

Offline is better from all the views.
Except if someone hasn’t someone near him so i guess the only solution is to play online.And ofcourse he must looking for close to his country opponents because of the lag.

Tomahawk either has a good number of invincibility frames, or the hitbox is pretty snazzy!

He seems to have the same Tomahawk as the old one.
Except that this time the execution will be better because of the SFIV engine.
But i guess it will be 4-5 frames (i wish for 4 but i think it will be 5)
Meaning the same as Sagat.
The important here (and generally) in shoryuken moves is not how much inviciblility frames have at start up.Because have nerf them Finally (Ryu’s now is 4 than 3…Mercy God).But the important now is to see how good are the recovery frames.
T.Hawk’s sadly seems to be more unsafe from Ryu’s or Sagat’s.
But because of the angle that moves goes it seems that some times can frustrate the opponent or to escape from a hit.
Cammy’s shoryuken is a good example for that.
Every shoryuken move in the game can be punished on block or whiff ofcourse.
But because of the current and the different situation sometimes can be avoid hits like the other moves.
But you can’t rely to that.

i hope ultra 2 isn’t as limited as people say. it’s infinitely more interesting to me and more bad ass than ultra 1. it’s more interesting to me cause his grab already makes your opponent afraid of being caught on the ground so ultra 1 just adds a little bit more to that fear but if ultra 2 good then it has your opponents both afraid to jump and stay on the ground.

from the vids he can link his c.jabs and combo into a DP but in the middle of the stage it looks like it pushes him too far out to do any sort of mix up afterwards. i don’t know about the EX version since i haven’t seen a clean on the ground hit but i don’t even think you can finish dashing/condor spire before your opponent quick rises from the DP. in the corners it looks golden though. the speed of his sweep is god like so what might be possible in the middle of the screen is like some [media=youtube]79xowWeFudI#t=10s"[/media] and then mix up. that’s pretty good to me because you can’t quick stand after a sweep so that’s a lot of time for mix up opportunity afterwards.

-Dive is unsafe like I hoped it wasn’t. Bison straight up walks slightly and punishes with s.HK, and even does reversal ultra. At least it’s quick and it’s whiff recovery is pretty nice.
-c.HP is a pretty nifty AA normal, even though it traded. At least it’s better than what Gief has.
-c.HK’s first sweep has way better reach. s.LK seems to have gotten a reach upgrade also. Awesome, especially if we can get spire combos from it.
-Judging from the dive’s angle and whiff recovery speed, EX tomahawk xx EX dive will definitely be our FADC. :slight_smile:

Also it seems that it has close reach even from the highest frame of jump.
Compare it to Turbo or HD.
This is the sad news.
T.Hawk’s Condor Dive was the move that all T.Hawk players wished to change it to a better move.
SAFER.In HD remix this came true.
Here we have the worst version of Condor Dive.Sadly.The good thing is, that it has the same speed,the same ability such to hit projectile characters or to close the distance and now its an armour break move.Not bad but that safe factor it’s the most important.

I say that T.Hawk with Condor Spire as the new addition, the same old good pokes (especially the improved HK roundhouse) and with a lot of health i say that he will be a solid Mid tier rank character.
That’s enough for me.I don’t expect something more.I’ll be happy with that.
But with Condor’s Dive nerf T.Hawk’s gameplay has already change…A lot!

It probably depends on how high it connects as well.

Greenhand is unsafe on HIT with Gief, but it doesn’t make it a useless move. Hawk can probably use dive to close the gap, because it has quick recovery if it doesn’t hit. Sure, if you hit at the top of the hitbox, you’ll probably get punished really hard, but I bet if you hit low with it, it’ll be harder to punish.

I don’t think you can make a move like Hawk’s dive safe on block in the SSF4 engine. It’s just too good for a huge grappler like that to close the gap that quickly without repercussions. Hawk can still be a threat from full screen just by jumping up and down (against fireballers, etc).
