Well, yeah, it would obviously make it easier to use, but command throw, let alone 360 characters with moves that leave them withing range and safe on block are fairly rare for obvious reasons. I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
Off the top of my head, I can think of Hugo’s Giant Palm Bomber, with the fierce version leaving you at a stupid +19 on block. Tager has A-Sledge and B-Sledge which leave you at -2 and +3 respectively. You did say “fairly rare” though, so citing two characters doesn’t make my argument stronger. However, my line of reasoning is that neither of those characters are particularly good, especially Tager, even with those moves, so it’s not unreasonable to think that T. Hawk’s jab Condor Spire could be safe on block.
But he’s been shafted in every game he’s ever been in, so you’re right, I shouldn’t get my hopes up .

Second Clip - Hawk Dive can cross up!
Third Clip - Jab SPD is still amazing. Super still looks better than Ultra.
Fourth Clip - LOOK AT THAT ST. FORWARD! Holy shit, my prayers have been answered. It looks just as fast and useful as Zangief’s st. strong. T. Hawk’s footsies will be strong, just watch. Oh, and great use of focus attack at the end there, caught the last hit of that special.
As for the damage, it’s done on Juri…she probably takes as much as Akuma? What sucks is that the Ultra seems like it has no invincibility, when he tried to counter juri’s ultra…Sucky dash…360 (was it jab or fierce?)didn’t do that much damage on Juri. I like is FA though, seems like it has nice reach.
Akuma has 850, but he’s a special case, so I’d guess Juri has 900 or 950 like most other females in the cast.
Zangief’s 720 doesn’t have any invincibility either, so I wasn’t expecting T. Hawk’s 720 to grab Juri out of her Ultra. I’m sure it still grabs on the first frame though.
And I’m talking about the move at 0:47; Juri hadn’t started her spinning special at that point, so I’m not sure what you’re referring to.

Zangief’s 720 does 600 damage, it’d be stupid if T. Hawk’s did any less.
Is it just me or some of T.Hawk’s animations are weird? The fact that he doesn’t leave the ground for what appears to be his LP-SPD sticks out and seems awkward no matter how many times i see it.
Also, his super looks awesome and seems like it should have been his ultra. They could have used his ST super for his IV super. Sure it’s similar looking, but aren’t all supers and ultras in the IV series?
T.Hawk was one of my fave characters in ST, and honestly, I find his ultra (the one we’ve seen) looks stupid.
As excited as I am about T.Hawk, everytime I see him, everything about him seems awkward. Even his DP is kinda off looking.
It might just be that i’m so used to his ST animations. Zangief was my main from WW-to-HDR (not in IV. I hate the way he plays in this game) and his animations looked funny to me at first too.
Edit: Oh yeah, they better have Pink T.Hawk.
Personally, I think his no jump 360 looks pretty cool. I like the variety.
I dont care that he doesnt jump for his jab. Does he jump for Mp? I know for a fact that nigga jumps high as shit on the FP one though.
I think Ultra looks pretty cool. I wish it was longer but its not bad. Super is definitely more badass though cant deny that. Fuckin bounces the bitch.
also st.forward better not suck. you better be able to fadc his dp too. scary mixups all day. jump fierce, cr.jab, wait, DP fadc if hit, do something i dunno what could connect, if blocked dash up, and DP again or 360.

Somehow it didn’t occur to me that being unable to FADC T. Hawk’s DP would hurt his mix up game, that’s a really good point. Even so, being able to EX Hawk Dive after an EX DP to make it safe is much better IMO. In general, EX DPs have much better invincibility, horizontal range and hit more than once to break focus. For the same amount of meter it costs Ryu to make his LP Shoryuken safe, I can make T. Hawk’s far superior EX DP safe. The trade off is that now I’m across the screen and have to work my way in again.
If Hawk Dive can be tiger knee’d then I think it’s a done deal.

This is actually the first thing I planned on testing when I got the game. I imagine Hawk Dive will work the way it does in HDR, where there is a minimum height from where you can perform the move, generally from about Ryu’s eye level. It just comes out too quickly in SSF4 for them to allow an instant Hawk Dive.
You could be right about EX fireballs (and are most likely certainly right about Seth’s Ultra), but I’m still pretty convinced it’ll be safe, because you’re sacrificing positioning for safety.

fadc a DP is used to either combo into ultra, or make a random DP safe.
well t. hawk cant combo into ultra anyway since its a grab(we havent seen his second ultra)
and he can make his DP safe by wasting another meter to ex dive out of there. (maybe not against ex fireballs, but who cares, hawk can stand to eat a few)
ex diving after an ex dp uses up two bars, thats the same that would be used if he FADC’d, BUT you get a both hits of the DP and then the dive for a shitload of damage if your oponent happens to not be blocking.
It gives him the ability to escape or possibly do a ton of damage for the same action. exactly like srk>fadc>ultra does for ryu. except thawk only uses up 2 bars and still keeps his ultra. its an even better set up IMO
Not only that, but honestly, when do you use Hawks’ DP other than when they’re in the air or in a combo? He has normals to catch people trying to jump back, and you don’t need to use EX stocks to make normals safe (better keep 'em for his amazing super!).

is hawk dive safe on block? cross up dive shenanigans are out of the window if you’re gonna pop up like in ST on block and get punished by an ultra.
