I’d like for T. Hawk to keep his throw and two holds from Super Street Fighter II. Maybe one of his holds could be a fireball motion + Kick done when he is in grabbing range.
I’ll work with what I’m given. I’ll only dislike Hawk if he’s waaaay too good.
If Dee Jay holds true to his older self, he’ll definitely be a high tier. Juri has as much potential as C. Viper does, hard to use but deadly when mastered.
T. Hawk, IMO, runs the most risk of being low tier.
You should say he sucks til the day of release then.
I agree with your theory, but then I expected this result in SFA3…
Gief w/ nerfed normals and a buffed specials set in a game were srk AA types get much luv… sounds like my kryptonite.
On paper T.Hawk should beat my general (mixup) play style, and I want the challenge to force me to improve my (mixup) game, but I think Realpolitix is spot-on on this one too. :nono: I’m not ready to get my hopes up just yet.
Marn needs to preach the suckiness of T.Hawk
re: Aesthetics of super and ultra(s)
Liking the Super’s look, but not the Ultra’s finish. maybe if the super bounced OTG as a semi launcher for follow up and the Ultra ended with a T.hawk doing a 1 handed pushup off his foe’s face? his current squatting finish could be a taunt.
I think I’m the only one who think’s T.Hawk’s Ultra is the best thing ever.
But then again, it’s pulling some Dan-Tier silliness…
I’ll have T.Hawk back. He’ll be my main. Low tier, high tier, it doesn’t matter, no SF character fits my play style better. I’m a happy man.
his super with the bounce is so bad ass though. i think they should be switched even though the ultra looks like it hurrrrts
Or, just add the bounce to the ultra. His ultra needs an extra chokeslam in there anyway, its too short. I love the “HOW” ender though, it adds that slight touch of racism that fits so perfectly in Street Fighter.
Actually any competitive gamer would laugh at you… When you are playing with your friends it might be lame to do things like spam jab, but when your are playing to win (tournaments, etc) Then doing whatever it takes is the -only- thing to do and anyone else who says otherwise has never played a game (or probably anything) for big money.
Did they take away his command chop he had in A3?
probably…I think it was created on a whim of a idea. Super looks far better.
i tend to think of the noise more of a
HHHHHNNNNNNNNNNMMMGHGHGHGHHH
slam
either way, im playing thawk. we’ll see about the possible wrestler though, he might be awesome >_>
Yes. The condor spire (the command chop in A3) has been replaced by the condor spire (horizontal dive move).
Yeah, it’s kind of wierd they gave it the same name.
Makes me wonder if the current look of the Condor Spire is just a placeholder animation. Using the same animation as the Diving Hawk seems somewhat lazy and un-creative. I actually used that move a lot back in A3…it was a good way to advance, and sometimes catch people off-guard. I hope that whatever form it takes in this game, it retains its overhead hit properties.
Yeah, it had a few nice set ups. Ono is such a creative genious replacing it with a straight foward HD,ugh.
They could have made it his FA?
I agree…I mean, the move could look pretty damn brutal, if they tried. C’mon, this huge guy leaping at you, chopping downwards with both hands…much cooler than him just doing the quick hawk animation. Oh, don’t forget the obligatory Raging Typhoon as soon as you land, hit or not.
The reason for the change to Condor Spire is obvious; they didn’t want it to be an overhead anymore for balance purposes. Think about it: a grappler with a fast overhead that hops over lows and can be canceled into off cr. short would just be too broken for this game. That doesn’t mean that the new Condor Spire will be useless; Rufus’ dives and Viper’s BK both hit mid and they’re both crucial to their respective character’s game. We already know that Condor Spire has “corpse hop” properties, and after EX CD you can juggle EX DP > EX Hawk Dive for 50% on Juri. That’s pretty damn good.
If it’s safe on block too, T. Hawk will have an absolutely monstrous mix up game. He’ll be Zangief with a Tiger Knee.
I really don’t think it’ll be safe on block. I dunno. Do we know if it is or isn’t? I mean, Marn must have used that move right?
Either way, I am fucking playing Hawk.
It doesn’t need to be safe of block, it just needs to be fast enough so that like green hand you can whiff it in front of them and then mixup, which it looks like it is.
Hmm, true, good point. I guess safety on block would be the icing on the cake.
