Momochi is one of the best in Japan without a doubt, but KOG is also praised as one of the best (If not the best) T.Hawk’s around as we know. Everybody is entitled to their opinions with the Hawk/Yun matchup, but at the very least I think the one thing that most of us can agree on is that the video demonstrates the matchup at high level play. Momochi clearly has a good understanding of the Hawk matchup with KOG, and vice-versa. Both played solid games and didn’t rely on gimmicks.
Yun is too good against everyone in the cast, i think most people say the matchup is 5.5 or in hawk favour is the damage output, hawk can hurt yun very fast, i think thats the only reason lol because yun have a million of options against everyone
What’s wrong w/ Hawk?
XD. That’s one of the more bizarre things I’ve seen in an AE PC video (I assume its AE).
Poor Hawk…

Blah. If anyone wants to watch my horrid T.Hawk, I have a set at 17:50 here:

I hate the sagat matchup. I did a very poor job of punishing (someone said I could spd blocked tiger knee? and let’s not talk about those uppercut punishes) and just generally wasn’t patient enough to win. I think the first round and the last round of the second match were the only rounds I really came close in terms of being patient enough.
edit: oh, and I have some matches with Hungbee saved, just need to share them with someone that can put them up on youtube for me… much as anyone loves watching a thawk mirror.
edit2: tokido had some hawk matches in here, 17 minutes and 55:20 or so…

TAMANAPANTS from the forum deleted this t hawk stuff on youtube? im salty
Ok. You can only punish tiger knee if hes REALLY close to you. Light tight knees off that block string set up he was doing is not punishable with a tick throw so that was very smart of you to do nothing. As you noticed your choice of punishment was weird. You played the matchup kinda like I do… I dont know if that means you are - nevermind but thats a general idea of how you should do that matchup the only real problem I saw is that you played really passive. Almost overly passive. Staying in downback kinda screwed you over because if you noticed it was forcing you into the corner. Good stuff though.
Thanks. Yeah, I kinda figured about those tiger knees, they didn’t look close enough to punish. I guess my only question is how to stay out of the corner when there’s a lot of tiger shot pressure. I basically can’t jump forward (at least, not often) because s.RH reaches (I swear) almost half the screen, let alone s.lk cancelled dps, but if I block, I get pushed back. Is the only safe approach to walk forward and time neutral jumps? I find that takes so much patience/focus… painful slow progress that can be undone in an instant and doesn’t even guarantee I’ll get a chance to get in… ugh. such a painful match.
