Not sure if these are the same vids as above just shortened? If not some nice footage of KOG and Sushiya on Ken Bogards site. Turn down the sound if you are not into the commentary. KOG’s comeback ability is so good! Watching Sushiya vs the Blanka made my eyes water though…It’s easy to watch and critique, which I won’t do as I’m not in his league, but that match looks no better…Blankas changes actually mean he needs to turtle even more and not risk the longer ball - LP and EX not punishable so not much change

God that announcer drives me nuts. Whenever Hawk does a SPD he goes “mmmmmmmmmmmmmm”. He did the same thing on videos when super first came out…so obnxious.
I don’t know him personally, but he announces most of the French tournaments - I don’t mind his style. I think Hawk is his fav character and he has a good super turbo Hawk by all accounts. He gets so excited by the mind games most - dash grabs seem to send him over the edge lol.
to be honest, I love the announcer’s style. he adds so much hype when T.hawk grabs someone . did you hear him when KOG pull that random win out of his ass on that viper player? he got the “raging typhoon” timing perfect. MMMMMMMMMMMM PWA!
and I dunno if you guys noticed this, but Sushiya’s footsies seem to be lacking a bit. no disrespect, because he’s a really good hawk player, but the two instances that I’m talking about are the Blanka matches and that one with the Sagat HK spam. while I’m not certain on counters to Sagat HK, the Blanka spamming that 1 normal looked like easy cr.mp bait (and though I can’t test this right now, I doubt it would lose seeing how it can beat pretty much every normal I’ve tried to counter with it if done correctly). the Sagat hk is trickier to counter, probably because of range (I’m not sure if cr.mp would reach it while maintaining a safe distance) but just standing there and not seeing what would compete with the normal was about the worse thing he could do. He doesn’t take advantage of lp spire’s extended hit box in footsies either (a tool I’m seriously looking forward to experimenting with). The Sagat became so predictable that he could have just Dp’d the damn HK.
I’m not one to critique others play either, believe me, I’m ass in this game; but people constantly bitching about the character makes me want to point out some tips (yeah, T.hawk sucks, we get it). just because a better T.hawk player loses to something stupid, doesn’t mean T.hawk doesn’t have an answer to it.
T hawk doesn’t have an answer to Blanka. Period. Case closed. Play Balrog or Cammy instead for that match.
I’ve also heard that when you press up, characters tend to jump. everybody and their mom knows the match-up is terrible, you don’t need to tell me this.
I still think the matchup is better in AE vs Blanka but I did only get to play it once or twice so I could be wrong. I think Dhalsim is worse, at least you can get within grab range of Blanka/Honda.
you brought it up and tried to explain what those guys could do differently in the video, when it doesn’t matter. Nothing more to say on that matchup, ever.
At least the Sim matchup is winnable against mid-tier players. Blanka is the same no matter who is playing him.

seriously though, I saw a gap in his play and I commented on it. it would be one thing if the guy was seriously trying to do something, but I saw the matches and I was like…“what?” it wasn’t a legitimate beat down,they lost because they didn’t know what the hell to do. you can’t counter poke blanka’s normals? you can’t counter a predictable blanka ball?

this video, the blanka isn’t even playing half way decent, he’s just smacking the hawk when he walks in, and the hawk just takes it (I don’t blame him; he refuses to use cr.mp at all. but that’s beside the point). even I can beat crappy blankas online. if its 2-8 match up, there’s a chance. I’m not saying blanka doesn’t rape hawk, he does; doesn’t mean we can’t try to win.
He should punished Blanka with an EX Tomahawk Buster, or just jumped the instant after he blocked to a Condor Dive to EX Condor Dive.
