close s.mp will hit the whole cast even when crouching.
reduced pushback on cross ups so HP Tomahawk is possible on the whole cast after cross up splash followed by close s.mp. Also gives more tick options into Typhoon.
far s.mp won’t whiff on crouching opponents either to end a string on hit.
LP Typhoon gets more range (so can be ticked off 3 jabs) and 20 more damage.
Focus attack and/or forward dash improved - faster animations, more forward motion on focus???
whiffed Dive recovery reduced to make it a more viable mix up option for bait and grab or bait and EX tomahawk/spire.
Spire now froward DP or fireball motion and kicks. Also given slight frame boost on hit and block.
anybody else notice that T.hawk randomly does less damage than Zangief with his super and ultra 1, and gets nothing to compensate? so dumb. they should fix that in AE, honestly.
j.lk being able to cross up would be a nice addition.
I don’t consider myself special, I consider myself a person who plays with the character I like. Because I like that character I have respect for them whether they are S-Tier or Roll-Tier. It’s frustrating when someone jumps on a character just because of a stupid letter near their name on a colorful chart. Honestly, if I did think playing with bad characters made me special I would low-tier whore.
Far st. HK: Good change, he did get punished too much when using it.
EX Dive: I don’t think this will be a big game chager like everyone thinks it will be.
Cl HK: I don’t think I’ve ever used that move in any situation except training mode. Maybe I need to make the adjustment and see what they’re thinking.
LP Spire: I think this will be the key change. Pressure with cr jab > st jab > far lk > spire is already a good tactic.
Super grab range: I don’t know the numbers from before, can’t say.
id like to see his damage cut in half. i get tired on destroying t.hawk till one hit is left on him, the he gets a throw a punch and an ultra to finish me. i hate t.hawk
I’m pretty disappointed with these changes. I don’t think he got buffs that are in accordance with his tier standing. Look at the buffs that Gen and Makoto got. Hell look at what Dee Jay got, he got tiny little buffs sprinkled all over his normals and every one of his specials.
I was really hoping for more buffs to his normals, something along the level of what Dee Jay got. I was hoping for a better st.hk, and they did buff it, but in a rather weird way. They increased the hit stun and block stun of it to make it less punishable, but a much better buff would have been to make it recover faster. That way it’d still be safer on hit and block but also a better poke in footsies. And where is the much-wanted and much-deserved input change for Condor Spire?
Holy crap! Adon got more buffs to his normals than T. Hawk did. Adon?! Really? Ugh.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. He did get buffs, and some of them may have even been pretty decent. We don’t know how much better LP Spire got (but why only LP?) and we don’t know how much more meter it gains.
thanks capcom. Guile, Sim, Honda, Blanka are going to be so much easier with this new cl.hk. thanks for leaving spire the way it is, because no one had a problem with its motion. NO ONE. I can’t tell you how many people complain about spire’s meter gain, thank god you chose to fix that instead of its fucked up motion with no ability for shortcut, or its frame data.
on the bright side, at least he didn’t receive any nerfs, I guess.
its not that I’m not happy with the buffs, I’m grateful for them honestly. it just isn’t enough though. its like I said before: they made T.hawk better at doing what he already does adequately. I hate it when I’m right in these situations. biggest changes are perhaps the U2 fix and maybe the super grab box. I wasn’t aware that the lenght of it was shorter than lp SPD.
lp SPD = 1.5
mp SPD = 1.45
hp SPD = 1.4
Ex SPD = 1.45
Super = 1.35
Ultra = 1.4
In AE, it went up .15
So now it’s possible to do:
j.d+hp, s.mp tick super
Far j.lp tick super
c.lp, c.lp tick super
j.hk, whiff s.lp, super
This doesn’t do much for his bad matchups tho.
The ONLY good buff is spire box. If it’s extended, it means hes invulnerable on the front because the hitbox already covers the hurtbox in super. This means you could possibly stop some ultras with it and beat:
blanka ball
headbutt
rush punch
scissors
sobats
rekkas (ex rekkas are projectiles so you wont beat those with any buff)
tatsus
HK pokes
Again, this all depends on how much the hitbox was actually extended, but since the other “buffs” are pure crap, I’m leaning towards “a lot”.
