This is actually gonna hurt Hawk if anything. You won’t be able to Ultra 1 your opponent while they are dashing.

Input shortcuts, huge reversal windows, Ultras that look like mini (or not so mini) cinematics. I could name more, but I think that’s enough.

Someone, somewhere, also said that his j.mk is now cancellable into his Condor Dive. I can’t find where I read that so it may not be true.

I’m really glad about the EX Dive and I’m excited that it’s projectile invincible. I’d like to know more properties of it, like how safe it is on block and how far Hawk bounces away on hit. Ideally he’ll be right next to the opponent if it hits and not bounce halfway across screen like normal dive does.

You think Ultra 2 has been buffed enough to catch people’s backdashes during the airborne portion?

Not bad stuff, but I hope there’s more. I’m particularly interested in changes to his normals.

Also, the Dev blog said this about Sagat’s Angry Scar move:

“There has been many complaints about Angry Scar that it comes out when unintended, so we changed its command to Kick buttons instead.”

So maybe there’s still hope that Hawk’s Condor Spire input will be changed. Man, that’d be so nice.

Stupid changes are stupid. There better be more than that in the official changes.

Change list sucks, I’m hoping he’s last on the list with the thinking that the devs spent the most time, but also hoping he’s not last because maybe the devs are keeping him in the trash can.

He NEEDS some significant changes…c’mon CAPCOM!

Honestly these are changes that I PERSONALLY wanted.

THAWK

  • EX Conder Dive is now an individual move that can be done with Kicks (This was done)

  • Cr.HP is faster, making it a realible anti air.

  • Conder Spire changed to Forward DP motion and Kick instead of punch

  • Jumping Light Kick can be used as a cross up
    ***- Close HP can be used as an overhead- *** ( This was something that I personally wanted but its not really a problem he has)

  • Standing LK is faster so it can link into Conder Spire (AND CONNECT))
    ***- Conder Dive , if spaced correctly, can cross up/be an overhead- *** ( Something else I personally would want not something really wrong with him

  • Ultra 2 has a attack box and not a grab box. If misses, it reads as a blocked DP and does chip damage.

  • Like SPD does 10-20 more damage.

LP SPD more damage is a good shout, as is a slight change to his c.hp.

The motion stuff makes so much sense it will not doubt be overlooked.

There are some subtle changes that would really help too:

Improve the hitbox on s.mp so it picks up those little hitboxes when crouching during a hit splash - Chun, Cammy…etc.

Increase the invincible a frames of HP Tomahawk by one. At the moment I think its. 8 frames tota on start upl and invincible on the 4th or 5th frame. same overall start up, but have it invincible one frame earlier. Or simply make LP Tomahawk invincbile on all 5 frames of it’s start up, reduce the damage a little, leaving the HP version for punishes.

Make f’ing Thrust Peak worth a damn. That move is a terrible command normal.

Ya I would just love to have U2 active attack box. Because having it as an air grab is so dumb =/

Just seen the new trailer for AE - some EX Dive shown vs Cammy…looks like it juggles (counterhit style, unless that was counter hit?) your opponent on hit, but puts you at full screen - boo to Capcom if that’s the case. Was thinking about this move earlier and it would be awesome if it has normal invincibility as well as fireball. Why - because anti airing when he has meter would become really risky opening up his empty jump options. Not likely however.

You know what would be cool? an insta EX CD, Cammy style xD

I was expecting more. A lot more. Not only does the new EX Dive knock the opponent across the screen AND bounce Hawk far away, leaving you a full screen width from the opponent…but it ALSO is a techable knockdown.

It’s got projectile invincibility, so presumably it’s to get in on fireballers. But once you do land it then you’re left at full screen looking for a way to get in again. And the bounce back makes it look like it’s gonna be just as punishable on block as normal Dive. What exactly makes this worth EX meter? I hope it does tons of damage…and around 500 stun. :amazed:

Still a lot of unknowns, like what the hitbox looks like and exactly what happens if it’s blocked, but so far I’m not too impressed.

That trailer just got me hyped up again except for the part where Cammy beats up Hawk… argh. That dive rebound sucks, hopefully that it does a lot of stun or something.

I wish he had a faster forward dash for silly stuff like far st lk. > grab. I use that once in a while on unsuspecting people.

I had a good feeling about him getting buffed from these little change log leaks but now I’m starting to get worried. I dunno, my fear /suspicion radar is going off. :frowning:

Ryu’s far st. MP > hadouken looks so funny to me, almost like a glitch. Gen looks like he got something good!!

We’ll know if Capcom have any love for Hawk if he gets more than the 2 things we know about right now. Look at what they have done for his low tier borthers and sisters:

Hakan - Oil option after slide, faster oil, stacked oil, hit confirmabel slide, improved HP for AA…buff, buff, buff

Makoto - Armour on EX Hayate, more health, better dash, slighly better walk speed, kara karakusa back…buff, buff, buff

Sakura - More combo options, improved hit boxes, faster fireball recovery, improved mp…buff, buff, buff

Hawk - Ex dive that leaves you at full screen and U2 hitbox and start up improved…not useless at all, but when you compare what we know and what his problems were, these don’t address them do they? If they think nerfing HP Blanka ball, Bisons s.hk and reducing Hondas headbutt damage from distance is the answer then it helps, but he still needs options, frames changing…etc.

Then take his Turbo brother Dee Jay - Easier to land dash ultra 2, mp up kick AA now combos into hk version, he can combo off FADC out of dread kicks, faster recovery on fireballs and it was not mentioned, but he is meant to now have an overhead.

Maybe I’m just too trusting, but there must be more to Hawk than what they have said so far when you look at what they gave all these characters…even look at what they have done to Dan! Please don’t drop the ball Capcom.

if its true that you can jump backwards and do EX dive, that’s huge.
