T.Hawk Laboratory

Yeah, that sucks. I mean when exactly do they have to input the motion to escape? Before the freeze afaik, but it didn’t look like that a few hours ago.

Usually using a regular typhoon would whiff on T. Hawk for a fireball and EX or Super for the invulnerability of other stronger fireballs. So EX or Super would be your best bet on countering ultra or super fireballs.

I don’t understand your first sentence.

We’re not talking about what to do to counter fireballs. We’re talking about how Ultra 1 gets beat by a few super moves and that it shouldn’t.

EX Tornado Throw isn’t throw invul (Normal is). Also, you can’t do any moves after Hawk/Gief super and ultra flash. They would be useless if you could (since holding up from the first frame can’t be grabbed). It’s a raw guess before the actual ultra, which can still be baited and punished with ultra anyway. I don’t see anything wrong with a throw invincible move beating ultra 1.

Those grabs are instant (after the flash). If they weren’t, you could just hold up and they would whiff; you wouldn’t need specifc super/special moves to beat them. Did this happen online, btw?

Yes, check it out:

Stand jab would of whiffed in that situation which is why you grabbed him.

The second situation is meh. I have always known that that happens… I dont even know how to explain it from an invisibility stand point. Frame invincibility was something ive always been really bad at explaining.

Well, I was kinda confused that his Super worked and couldn’t think of an explanation.

He was mashing jabs a lot, that’s why I super’d him there. Super has got 2 frames of invincibility I think. Not so sure, but I had it ready and I know it works wonders if I buffer it during blockstun and against ppl who throw out a lot of normals, so yeah…

You both activated the ultra and super at the same time. That’s what it looks like. Yours went first and the one frame of start up was used for the super.

Okay, same situation, but with him using Ultra instead. Do I grab him or not?

I will never understand this, lol.

The grab will whiff since Ryu is invincible in most of his start-up frames. Usually in situations like you mentioned rarely happen if at all unless your opponent does his super/ultra first.

So if Ryu did his ultra first, you can use any grab, even normal grab but EX, super or ultra would work better. If he did super first it’s pretty hard to connect even an EX due to the start-up unless you super it.

I stand corrected on a thread about T.Hawks elbow drop… I wanted to explain my findings

Question: "Can T.hawks Elbow Drop allow T.hawk to go over fireballs.

Answer Yes.

Consensus: T.Hawks Elbow Drop can allow T.Hawk to go over fireballs that would cross him usually. However, the fireballs it works on are non reactionary fireballs. What this means is that if you preemtivly jump to avoid a possible fireball you cannot Elbow drop to avoid it. If you jump in response to a fireball you see on screen which would usually cross T.Hawk from behind, you can elbow drop to avoid the Fireball and have it phase from behind. I think this has something to do with the Startup of Elbow drop.

This example was for Ryu however I tested it on Sagat, Gouken, Sakura, and Ken.

Here’s the image of Ryu’s Fireball Hitbox as you requested (Top Image is Regular, Bottom is EX).

Okay, I see, thanks for your input. This happened online, yeah.

Yeah, a lot of funky shit happens online.

Some guy left a response on youtube:

I’m, completely confused now as I don’t know how you would cancel a jump into Super.

Fuck it, just watch out for opponents with Ultra or Super ready.

My game is completely missing Tick throws. People have been telling this repeatedly and I still refuse to work them in. Dunno, I’m playing online mostly since I’d have to travel quite far for offline play and you eat so many DPs online. Maybe that is stopping me from working on it.

Some new t.hawk technology. You can link close lp into close roundhouse! Go experiment crack heads.

thats godlike

After doing testing on every character with the Head Projectile Invincibility on Sweep, I’ve concluded that it only has practical uses against 2 characters. Sagat and C.Viper o_O

The Head Projectile Invincibility on Sweep is really useful against Sagat. It makes it easier since there’s less of a need to have to jump over High Tiger Shots in order to close the distance.

With C.Viper it’s useful when she does her Burn Kick (Which is considered a Projectile). The thing that’s unfortunate however, is that it won’t pass under Burn Kicks executed on the ground because her Projectile Hitbox will make contact with T.Hawk’s Hurtbox. T.Hawk will only be able to pass through Viper’s Burn Kick if she’s airborne.

Too bad close jab didn’t stand up like cl. MP (which is useless) so you could link cl .RH.

I knoooooooww :frowning: it does not work on crouching opponents…have no tested but I’m assuming
