T.Hawk 2013

Think I’ll stick with U2 only, U1 doesn’t really cover anything not covered by LP or EX SPD, and after focus, solo U2 probably does more damage than U1 with both ultras.

T. Hawk won’t be as good as Zangief with both Ultras, because Zangief’s being scary will come with his coverage both on land and in the air. T. Hawk can already do it without the need for U2 (with Tomahawk Buster). It’s still a good addition, anyway.

Seems like they’re pushing many safe moves, like Bison LK SK and Sakura LK Tatsu, to be -1 on block. Now I’m a big fan of U2, but I might have to go with both Ultras if they keep making moves U1-punishable.

  • Walk speed is faster.

  • Standing Close Medium Punch pushes you back less distance.

  • Crouching Medium Kick is now special, super and focus cancellable.

  • Light Typhoon throw range has been increased from 1.50 to 1.55.

  • Far Standing Heavy Kick has a smaller hurtbox, is now -2 on block instead of -7.

  • Thrust Peak (down-forward Light Punch) command has been changed to back Light Punch.

  • Condor Spire command is now forward-down-forward Kick.

  • Light Tomahawk Buster is now 4 frame startup, instead of 5.

  • EX Tomahawk Buster can be focus cancelled.

  • Raging Slash command has been changed to half-circle back, half-circle back, 3 kicks. Hitbox has been increased.

How much faster is the walk speed exactly? Compare it to another character.

I’m liking the far s.HK change.

Why have they changed the input for thrust peak? No more crouch tech OS and no more jabbing while blocking?..

I’m happy with everything except that thrust peak change I was already used to the command

I wish they would do away with double half circle motions altogether. So annoying.

I, for one, am glad they moved Thrust Peak, kept getting that thing when going for c.LP for some reason. b.LP also makes it more intuitive as an AA imo.

If they wanted to move it to back they should have made it back+mp. No one else do jabs - wait - jabs while holding back?..

I like what I see except for the thrust peak command change.It also seems hawk might be better then gief this time around.

I have to say I love the thrust peak change. It is so incredibly hard to do c.lp after a cross up where I don’t know which side I will land on.

I’m concern about the smaller hit box on standing far hk. But we will have to see.

C.mk cancelable - ABout Freakn time!!

Light Typhoon throw range is also pretty nice.

Gief already is a pretty good match up for us though. I’m concern about the lack of damage buff on SPD. Thawk’s command throw really do too little damage compare to other grapper.

Anyone going for location tests? I should be going for the location test at Tough Cookie Singapore.

Mexican Typhoon has massive damage potential from mix ups. It was actually perfectly fine as it was so the range buff is just a sweetner.

Btw about st.hk hitbox and hurtbox a different things.

I’m really hoping cancellable c.MK makes close HP, c.MK xx EX Spire possible as a combo; that’s some big damage. Close MP having less pushback will make comboing into HP Buster more reliable which is also really nice. Really, almost all these changes are useful, though I kind of wish they had lowered the hitbox on st.HK even if it means keeping the fame data the same. I feel Hawk has lost a lot with the delayed wakeup now as well.

That just got hit hard by DWU. Range buff is nice, but it could definitely benefit from ~20 more damage as well.

Is it true that crouching MK doesn’t combo to anything?

If you mod the game and just add cancellability to c.MK, then yes.
