SVC CHAOS SNK V.S. CAPCOM (normal characters) thread

We all know SVC is quite a broken game with its high priorty secret characters, infinites, exceeds, max mode combos bullshit etc. But let’s turn the other way at the normal characters which include since they are only tourny worthy

**SNK:**Kyo, Terry, Ryo, Kasumi, Kim, Genjyuro, Iori, Mai, Shiki, Earthquake, Mr. Karate, Choi

**CAPCOM:**Ryu, Ken, Guile, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, Tessa (Tabassa), Sagat, Balrog (M. Bison), Vega (Balrog), M. Bison (Vega) Hugo, Akuma

At the moment I use most of the normal characters from the shotos, Bison (Vega) and Genjyuro plus Dhalsim & Sagat the only games I liek and can play them in.

So c’mon post ya combos, advanced strategies, match-up’s, vid’s etc. whatever.

Well I got to tell you G-product I’ve been playing this game online for a while and I have not found anyone dominating yet with Geese or Zero on X-box live or any other secret characters.

I’ll post some of my combos and strategies Wed afternnon.

Since I been playing with Genjuro recently I add my strategies…

Ok first of Genjuro is fuck up so don’t use his hard slashes randomly.

Anyway use mostly weak attacks to poke like A and B u could use D since his kick come out quickly but I would use more B or A.

Easy combos
(U can add at the begining a deep or normal jumping C)

st A or B, srk p (2 or 3 if done with C hits )
st A or B, qcf a, qcf a, qcf a (4 hits not sure if U can do it with C)
st A or B, qcb-foward A or C(he does that grab thingy)

In the B version u can juggle to DM not sure if U can link it to his exced maybe u can but the timing would be a bitch and I guess it would work in the corner.

what are some good strats with Bison and does anyone got any easier ways to pull of Akuma’s not-so fast Exceed on this generic SNK engine

Well for Bison.

Use his headstomps both punch and kick versions, sometimes come out as crossovers as opponent is getting up. His psyco crusher and superphsyco crusher can hit as a crossover as well as your opponent is getting up.

His supers don’t have much priority though, Bison’s teloports are really good in this game. I don’t think his sciccor kicks leave him vulnerable either.

His down Fierce punch stops jump kicks pretty good.

I think I remember seeing someone in combo vid in Maxmode to repeated Super Psyco crushers in the corner not sure on this one though.

Also I like do this with Bison to put lots of pressure.

Headstomp1 hit come back and punch 2nd hit> down FP> Chain Headstomp repeat.

Or you can also use his Charge Down up Punch version isntead. Instead of downFP afterwards you can chain LP or LK cancel to headstomp.

I get in Throws here or their with this. Or trick them into getting hit by the Bisons slide. For them constanly blocking especially Earthquake and Hugo.

well, I used to play mai on arcade svc for a bit, I didn’t get anywhere but I did find some cancellable stuff…
max cancel on:
all ground normals, uncancelled f+b, df+b(first hit), hcf+k(first hit), qcb+p(first hit), Dp+k(followups can’t be cancelled), qcb+k.
You can also cancel RECOVERIES of:
air d+B or d+D, qcf+p, dp+p, df+b(second hit).
cannot be cancelled:
supers, airthrows, air normals, 2nd hit of qcb+p, 2nd/3rd hit of dp+p.

but unfortunately the game’s nazi rules prevent you to do normal into special into normals, once you cancel into special, it has to be another special.

personally I can’t do much with mai max mode, sbe can do some mindgames though(as if resets mean anything in the game) :
I go for dp+D xx qcb+b then
qcf+b and link another dp+D to repeat, or
hcf+b, or
f+b(doesn’t combo) overhead xx air qcb+p, or
df+b(difficult to combo) low hit xx super.

If you got a mai combo or strats, drop a line

G-Product: If you hit your opp with a close st.A and do the rest of the exceed, they can’t get out of it.

Little strats on Hugo:

After a light clap, you get a throw for free. (I.E.: Moonsault press, Meat Squasher, Ult. throw to whatever you like, and exceed). I use F+A as a mid distance poke every now and then, and if I know that they will jump from f+A max range then I air throw them. Also at max f+A range, you will be able to see if you can F+A+C/D+B+D your opponent’s attacks. At far range I light clap to bait opponents and build up meter. Defense, pressuring them with throws/claps, and keeping you opp in the corner is pretty much all you got.

combos:
Hard clap=>d+Ax2=> Hammering Frenzy
Hard clap=> Light clap=>Ult.throw=>Megaton press

Red bar combo:
Hard clap=>light clap=>Exceed

I’m trying to see which special/supers/exceeds can Hugo’s exceed beat if done a little before, at the same time, or a little after your opponent does their special/supers/exceeds. Also trying to see which specials/supers/exceeds can f+A+C/d+B+D fully absorb and which needs guard assistance when f+A+C/d+B+D times out. Any help from y’all is most appreciated.

Dhalsim little strats:

I just started playing with him, and IMHO, Sim has some decent AA, and good zoning. Light Yoga Fire to Yoga Flame/Blast/Inferno/Legend is the basic setup, or you can replace the light Yoga fire with a back dash and do the same. When in close, you have many 2-hit combos at your disposal.

Combos: All 2-hits
d/b+B=>b+A_Slide(light/heavy)
st.A=>Slide(light/Heavy)
d/b+C=>Slide(light/heavy)_d/f+A_yoga fire
b+C=>Yoga Fire (sometimes will miss against Kim)
b+D=>Yoga Fire (very unreliable)
CH Yoga Flame=>C_D

Max combo:
b+C,then during 2nd hit=>Yoga Fire (3-hits, but unreliable)

Corner combo (must be real close to opponent to work):
b+C=>Yoga Fire=>st.A=>Slide(heavy/light)
CH Yoga Flame=>quick drill attacks_Yoga Fire_Yoga Flame_b+A_b+C
_b+D_Exceed

Anyone have any good strats for Earthquake?

Max mode suxx, only a few charas can use it well… but the game itself isn’t THAT bad either

All characters can use max mode well. Another thing is that some people can do almost an infinty is another thing.

Almost everyone can do an Infinite while in Max mode. Even Hugo can.

Akuma’s air fireballs are so abusable. It links into Raging Demon for fuks sakes =O

The shoto’s standard cr.short x 4, cr.roundhouse is a must
Akuma’s lk tatsumaki can juggle with a super jump roundhouse

This block string will guardbreak very quickly :
Divekick, cr.short x 4, demonflip divekick, cr.short x 4, etc.

Are u talkin about ports or arcade version?

I think he refers to arcade or neo geo since the ports have a lag input.

What about a MAX Mode combo or two with Iori? I know he has at least one, I saw someone around here in the arcade doing it, but he left before I could talk to him and I wasn’t paying all that close attention to the combo.

Try alternating between qcb+p and hcb+k and end it with qcf,hcb+p into the extension.

Isn’t Iori’s hcb+k move too slow on start up to combo with the qcb+p?

The combo I saw the guy doing involved his qcf+k move. I just don’t know what he was cancelling it into. Probably the qcb+p. He never linked them into his super though… interesting. I’ll hafta try it out.

Nah, it definetely works. This kid at my arcade uses it as his bread and butter. I suppose you’d want to do the B version of hcb+k for speed. You can even throw a dp+p in there into the super if you wanna get stylish.
