I love Spider Rolls, usually ours doesn’t come in 8 pieces but 5. And I don’t know how your places make Spider Rolls but where ever I eat, they make it huge where you have to be like a python and dislocate your jaw to open your mouth some more to eat it properly. So if it’s built the same way consider that because girls don’t want to struggle eating sushi.

I run into the same problem most of the time. The pieces are huge pretty much everywhere I try it, but some places offer hand rolls which solve the problem of big pieces.

yeah, getting too involved in the minutiae of sushi etiquette is just kind of pretentious ‘’ i know more japan rules’’ shit you don’t need to get involved in. It’s food. If you like wasabi and soy, do it. As long as you’re not doing overtly gauche shit like burpin n fartin, who cares. Stuff like the issue Galactic highlighted is reasonable too. That’s a legit hygiene concern.

Also, don’t try to be the coolest weeaboo in town and impress people by ordering warm sake. Usually only cheap sake is warmed to mask impurities. It’s not some secret samurai ritual.

I normally don’t go out for Sushi when other people suggest it, I have the bad luck of somehow only getting invited to get sushi with people who treat sushi as some kind of sacred japanese ritual, they make the experience awful.

This only happens to me outside of Japan.

oh yeah like someone has said, eel/unagi is nice too, another variation is anago but im not a fan of that much.

another thing i just recalled, aburi engawa is delicious too (i think its smoked fish fin or something in english), its white in color. id highly recommend it.

i dont think ive had any lobster ever since ive been here… but crabs, oh yes crabs are tasty.

Eel is my shit. The texture can be a little akward for some as virgins, but its REALLY tasty.

I also like Sea Urchin…its very ‘heavy’ though.

This is slightly off topic but smoked salmon with cream cheese on a bagel is fast to make for breakfast. In sushi though it sounds odd but I guess it depends what else is with it.

Wish I liked sushi. The texture just kills me. I do like Tuna though, so if I have to order something, I get the nigiri (also, ahi poke is the fucking bomb.)
