I stand corrected, apparently S25 is second chances-lite. It’s returning players who lost because of a mistake that they made. Apparently the Andrew Savage from PI is either definitely on or at least heavily being considered. It’s a pretty safe bet that Cochran and Steph V. will be back for sure, too. It’s kind of a shame, I was hoping for a true pre-merge boot only season, but whatever.
Uh, I heard that the person who gave whoever the boot order for this season was Whitney, but whatever.
Spoiler
And that sounds like it’s uh…All-Stars vs Second Chances or something kinda? I really don’t see what the big deal about Stephanie V is though, but I’d imagine Probst might well have Marty or Jim on. I’d pretty much though say forget about anyone earlier than China except for MAYBE Cao Boi from Cook Islands.
Well, there’s a poster on Sucks that obviously has some kind of inside connections or works in production and has been spoiling things, including the upcoming season.
[details=Spoiler] From what they say, it’s purely a “made a mistake that cost them a win” season - so no winners and probably no FTC losers. It’s not being strictly called “Second Chances”, so it probably gives them room to bring back players like Cochran or Brandon. The thing about Stephanie V is that she fits the theme of the season, plus the producers (mostly Probst) absolutely loved her. So I’d be really surprised if she didn’t make it back. I don’t like her, but she’ll probably be there.
Really, I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that they’re apparently letting later boots in. I can easily make a list of 20 pre-merge players who were either screwed by twists (Angie, Sherea, Aaron), were strategic for early boots (Misty, Ace, Steph V, Mike Skupin), or were just generally entertaining enough to warrant a return (Francesca, Crazy Dave, Marisa, Sarita, Stacey, Christine). Honestly, I could make a huge list of players that deserve a second chance, but with the theme as it is, I’d say we’ll get a fair amount of memorable merge players who just made mistakes, like Cochran, Brandon, Erik R., etc. [/details]
“Albert, stop what you’re doing and pick up my pieces. Pick them up Albert!!!”
Really? WTF??? After that I was hoping they were smart enough to get rid of her.
Personally I kind of figured that Coach wouldn’t take Ozzy to the finals. He was super excited that Sophie won the last challenge like he did himself. It was all about eliminating Ozzy and making sure he had a spot in the finals himself, regardless of who took him there. So much for honor and integrity.
I’m not sure if I’ll keep up with this show next year. People getting butthurt and not voting the person who should really win the game upsets me. Everyone takes it so personal when it’s a game for crying out loud. I mean, because money is on the line, I think people have a tendency to take it a step further…
Um, you know people have voted for who they like more at the end SINCE THE FIRST SEASON. The person who played the best game is the person who can get the jury to vote for them, not the person who made a bunch of moves that make the jury pissed off at them. Yeah, Coach was playing a good game, until the Final 7 and until he promised Ozzy he’d take him to the Final 3. If Coach took any 2 of Rick/Edna/Cochran/Brandon, then guess what, Coach wins. If Coach was TRULY in control of his tribe, and TRULY playing the best game, then I don’t think he would’ve voted out FOUR goats for him in succession.
A “bitter jury” didn’t screw Coach. Coach screwed Coach, and he has nobody to blame but himself, so that’s the blunt truth. I mean hell, last season sure Rob backstabbed Matt, Andrea, and Grant, but he made sure he took the 2 least liked people to the end with him and won. Rob didn’t go “hey, I’ll vote out Phillip and Natalie so I can take Grant and Ashley, who’ll beat me”, which Coach essentially did. So at the end of the day, either Coach didn’t really have control of his tribe, or he had no self-awareness or idea on what to do with power. It’s one or the other, folks.
My DVR didn’t record the reunion show but I could live without it. Coach screwed up when he didn’t take Brandon to the finals. Nobody would’ve voted for Brandon or Brandon would’ve sabotaged it for himself. Granted, Ozzy would’ve probably won the challenge if Sophie didn’t stop him but that’s just the way it goes. Also, Coach should’ve at least saved somebody that he promised he would protect, he didn’t do it with Edna, he didn’t do it with Brandon and he didn’t do it with Rick.
People are too quick to call juries bitter. Jury management is always a part of the game, it has very little to do with individual juries and it’s all in how you manage them. That’s why Russell lost twice against two entirely different juries: he sucks at managing his juries and making social connections. He takes popular players (literally all 4 of the people he sat against at the end were really popular; he should have brought Jaison/Shambo and Candice/Danielle) to the end and votes out loyal goats. Coach did the same thing: He should have taken Brandon or Edna over the popular Sophie. Sophie made good impressions with her intelligent speeches, didn’t ruffle feathers with the religion thing like Coach did, and had a bit of a resume with the immunity wins.
According to post-show interviews:
-Cochran and Edna voted for Coach (obvious).
-Rick voted for Coach, because apparently he was only in the 5 because of Sophie and actually wasn’t directly aligned with Coach/Albert/Brandon, so he felt betrayed by her.
-Ozzy, Jim, Whitney, Brandon, Keith, and Dawn voted for Sophie.
Wow i would have thought Coach’s team would have been bitter towards him, i dont see why the other team would hate on Coach so much…I bet it was Ozzie bitching cuz Coach decided not to bring him to final 3 influencing his other tribe members…
Savaii was pretty obviously set on voting against Coach. Everyone saw him as the cult leader and no one really respected his gameplay all that much. If I had to guess, I’d say that his refusal to own up to the leadership of the tribe is what sealed the deal.
So Wiki’s wrong then? I can see switching Rick/Jim’s votes so that Jim voted Sophie and Rick voted Coach (KIND OF since his ‘the jury speaks’ thing made it really sound like he was gonna vote for her), but Brandon not voting Coach is shocking. Even with how bad it came out that Coach had betrayed him, I’d think “God would make him vote Coach”.
Oh cool, I getcha. I always mean to listen to those “Rob has a website” things, and I I never wind up being able to listen to pure non-music audio from his podcasts for over an hour, even when it’s good, so I tend to forget about them.
I listen to some of the Podcast & im glad Ozzie didn’t win the million…Guy is bitter & was the main reason why Coach didn’t win…He also said he didn’t bully Cockran…
Also WTF, how the hell did Sophie won Prom Princess in highschool…She’s probably the ugliest contestant i’ve ever seen…
Admittedly, I really did see the resemblance, especially at the live reunion. I have to say, though, it was nice to see an ugly winner. She was such an atypical casting choice, being smart but ugly, and I’m glad she won.
I’m confused on how she’s ‘ugly’. I mean…she looks pretty ‘normal’ to me. The only way I can see her being ugly is compared to the typical “mactor-types” they cast for the girls who are just 20-somethings that look cute but really have no idea what the fuck they’re doing game-wise and are boring as hell. Apparently taco stands don’t attract interesting people, lol.
