I’ll try to get supercade to work again…it didnt last time.
I use Aero without the transparency.
Add that with my video card (128mb) and 4BGs of RAM.
These are only recent additions though.

Such a shame that GGPO is likely to be consigned to the dustbin of history. I love the layout of GGPO and from what i hear Supercade is nowhere near as fun.
The future of GGPO is going to be in video games sold to retail such as that new DBZ game and (hopefully) Tekken Tag 2, TxSFxT, etc.
I don’t think the client is part of that future, sadly.
If someone could help me fix my problem with supercade it would be appreciated
I understand that spectating is fun but honestly that was my least favorite part of GGPO. It doesn’t happen with everyone but for me at least when someone started to spectate me playing I’d literally get a half to full second freeze and it just got too tiresome. Maybe something could be made to where spectating is optional, yet default is still no, and if either player keeps it off then it’s impossible. Not sure how that could even be done though without a major overhaul of everything.
I think a lot of players would love to see an option like that, maybe where the host decides whether there are spectators or not.
I’ll look into implementing this as soon as I have some time. Been very busy last few weeks.
Any clues damdai on to why it won’t install for me? I had it installed previously uninstalled and recently i tried to reinstall after a format did everything got framework etc i click install it does nothing in I.E, So i figure let me redownload firefox does nothing other then tries to have me dl the application file but i know i have .net4 and framework assistant for firefox
Did you do the uninstall through add/remove programs?
no it wouldn’t uninstall that way for some reason had to find everything on supercade and delete the folders
Wow great new interface ! Love that.

Man stop making these long ass posts.

I wanna just say that a true arcade experience is like when other people can look and comment in a lobby type setting.
Think about how arcades used to be around America.
You are thinking of the actual play of an arcade.
I’m thinking of the overall Arcade.
IMHO if you make spectate optional and off by default, might as well not bother spending time to implement that feature.
Look at HDR, default is 6 ppl room, default is remix mode, not classic, default network setting, etc etc. 90% of people will use default.
Rather than that, can’t we try to overcome this technical problem?
Maybe only allow spectator to join before/after a round is started? Maybe block people > 200ms from spectate? Maybe we can solve this without any limitation at all?
I really don’t know. But spectate is what makes ggpo fun / hype.
I like being able to spectate. I have mentioned the function of ‘limiting specs time to join/leave’ as in like the first 30 secs of a match they can join. If you leave after that, you cannot come back to the same match. That would be a good option if it was possible.
Yes def should make it so they can’t spam join and leave spectator 30sec wait limit before they can join and watch the same match again
Not spectating isn’t a “problem” to everyone though, I prefer it
Why don’t people just log on to both at the same time? I’m usually logged on to both so I have a bigger pool of players to choose from.
This retarded “foreign player necessarily lagging shit” is certainly HDR-only. I had Japanese players watching a match of mine (now why in the world would they check a match of a scrub like me) and it did not cause trouble. The issue seems to be entering and leaving, in the current GGPO implementation.
I like papasi’s suggestion, if it feasible. Spectators would be in a kind of lobby, waiting the the rounds to end, then spectating would only start during bonus, character selection and such.
How about limiting spectators so that you can only spectate if you’ve been invited by one of the 2 players? When 2 players start a match, there is enough time during the character select screen to send an invite to whoever.
That way the only spectators allowed are controlled by the players. If they want a private match with no spectating, then no invites. Setting a limit of 6 invites per match per player is prolly reasonable. If a certain spectator is creating lag, allow one of the players to boot them and/or have the option to boot all spectators.
I’m not a programmer, but I think this can prolly be implemented by damdai or whoever.
Ehhhh?
That sounds like a headache to implement.
A better idea (assuming spectators only cause lag when they join the game to watch) is to simply only allow them to join in-between rounds. Since you already have Supercade scanning the emulator memory for the match result, just set a flag to allow spectators to join during the character select/continue/stage plane screen. Once the match begins remove the flag.
So people don’t keep hammering trying to “get in” just set the emulator with on-screen drawn text saying, “Connecting…waiting for available window” or something similar so they don’t keep closing and trying to spectate again. Of course you could set a maximum number of spectators…but why if they only lag during their initial connection? Which, with described as above…wouldn’t affect actual game play time.
Just my two cents.
