game 1 - dic/boxer (oh thank god I won a round. Not completely embarassed! Wait… I won a game!)
game 2 - dic/ryu (great, I can lose with dignity now. Wait… I won two games??)
game 3 - dic/ryu (daigo finds the “rape” button at this point. I think it was stuck before?)
game 4 - dic/ryu (rape button is on turbo now)
game 5 - claw/ryu (maybe with claw I can … wait stop raping me… I’m trying to … <getting raped/>… double perfect. Managed to embarass myself after all! )

damdai, I don’t think most of us can upload the footage uncut to youtube. You need a youtube account with a special privilege to upload video longer than 10 minutes. Maybe DSP’s SF channel ?
Anyway, we should just annotate the matches archived on ustream first, once we get the bracket. If there are not a lot of matches missing (< 10), maybe we can just cut those and upload to youtube.

After you won two games and up 2-0, we were all thinking you could send the beast to losers.
IIRC you & damdai are the only one that forced daigo to pick someone other than boxer.
His ryu is not rusty at all, those rushdown & combo in the last game are on point.
That game was so hype on stream.

Massive kudos to you. Your dictator has always been amazing. I was especially impressed with you crossing up boxer - something I find so difficult that I don’t even try it anymore.

Argh, we have a scanner here, but I can’t figure out how to use it. It’s not as easy as it should be. The bracket will have to wait for my brother’s visit this weekend. Hopefully he can figure it out. I guess if worse comes to worst, I can just fill in an empty 64-man bracket online :crybaby:

Eugene, it was great talking to you after the tourney on Sunday…hope you can make it out to the Socal ST events (i’ll keep you posted). Masaka, it was nice to finally meet you after playing you on HSF2 years ago. I could literally go on about all the great people I encountered (Grog, Zoolander, etc).

I know this post is about a week late, but it just seems like the more tournaments/events I attend, the less I have to say afterwards. Unless the event was truly remarkable in my memory and I have something genuine to say, I tend to let it pass.
Honestly, I wasn’t all that excited about EVO this year beforehand. I suppose the blame could be attributed to EVO2010’s lackluster appeal. I wanted to do a write-up for last year (since Maj was giving away Madcatz keychains) but I just couldn’t bring myself to write a great deal about it.
But the more I walked around the Rio, I started to remember how great of a time I had in 2009 and my attention kept turning towards the fact we’d have a Super Turbo tourney this year.
I missed out on watching the King of Chinatown because I had to run the ST tourney, but it was definitely worth it. I really just want to share some quick shout-outs, since I feel the event deserved that much
Thanks to DGV for taking the initiative to never let SF2 die, organizing the tournament, and hauling their gear. Thanks to papasi for loaning some of his own gear and to bitkid for hauling it. A big thanks to Jason Cole for pressuring his OG peers to sign up (Henry Cen missed out!), we’re lucky to have him. Thanks to kuroppi for showing up and helping with streaming. Thanks to zaspacer for donating a little extra payout money (though $10 bills would be appreciated next time, haha). Thanks to Paro-da for bringing extra sticks. Thanks to Ghaleon for the company & casuals. Thanks to zerodotjander for being my cameraman again while my hands were busy. And a special thanks to all the players and supporters of this event. It was truly a great tournament and I’m glad I could play significant role.
Some noteworthy memories:
-Suffering in an enormous, moving line just to get a cab after landing in Las Vegas
-Waiting 51 minutes in line to eat at the buffet
-The ST gang being the last ones to get breakfast at the expensive cafe
-zass’ Yoshimi headshake LOL
-Grog telling zass to give damdai the Yoshimi headshake after he lost Friday’s team battle
-Being unable to resist playing Breakers Revenge on the American red/blue cab with Comeback Kyle
-Casuals in SJV’s room, always a fun time (starring a disappearing and reappearing kuroppi)
-Corrosion’s comedy commentary
-Vintage commenting on how ST casuals kept going long after the mass exodus of spectators on Sunday (surprisingly, we weren’t kicked out right away)
