So how long will the battles last? Can we keep fighting each other repeatedly? When will updates be posted on the site?
they last until the entry fees run out, all the entries will get mixed up in a random order and we’ll just keep going through the rotation until we run out of money. i’ll try to space out people’s separate characters to minimize their turn coming up while they’re already on the machine.
so if we get 10 entries that’s $10 = 40 quarters, so about 40 matches. the system we’re running is a little different from the traditional system, there’s no limit to the amount of people who can rank up or down in a single battle.
if i had to guess i’d say the entire battle will last somewhere around 2 hours. since geo and me are matching the entry fees for the inaugural battle, maybe we can just keep it going until the arcade closes at 9pm, 2.5 hours would be solid. we’ll just have to see what kind of turnout we get, i promise no one will feel ripped off or anything, everyone will get an equal shot at ranking up

So, people will no longer be able to show up just to play a few games? Will the rank battle dominate the machine and prevent casuals for the bulk of the afternoon?
well it doesn’t start until 6:30, that leaves plenty of time for casuals earlier in the day. i don’t see any other way we could do it?
